Chapter 58

58 Ch. 58 Anxia’s Rampage

Richard walked until he was in front of the large rear door of the palace, which was not too far from the helipad. A butler and several servants greeted them and saluted them with their heads and backs bowed.

After giving some instructions, Richard released his grip and handed Lori to the head maid to go inside. Once it was just the two of them, Richard began to speak.

“Now that we’re here, you’re free to do whatever you want.”

“??”

“Don’t you want to kill me? You can try it while you are here. But... every time you fail to kill me,” Richard walked over to Anxia. “you have to accept my punishment.”

Anxia rolled her eyes lazily. She knew Richard was not someone to be casually hurt. Why would she go to the trouble of draining her energy for something she couldn’t win?

And what did he say? Punish her? The man seemed even more enthusiastic about punishing her and deliberately luring him into doing what he wanted.

Anxia had been itching to kill this bastard at the very beginning of their meeting. But after spending time with this annoying pervert man and also seeing how this man behaved with his daughter, Anxia became less and less interested in killing him.

She felt sorry for taking the life of someone who could be a great father to her daughter.

.....

Anxia snorted in response to the man’s challenge and didn’t even consider looking for an opportunity to kill her husband.

“Crazy,” Anxia replied as she stepped back because it was enough for her to be close to him.

“Ah, I almost forgot.” Richard took Anxia’s hand and placed a piece of paper on Anxia’s palm. “Now I return it to you. Good luck.” Richard showed a sly grin, which made Anxia restless.

What is this guy up to?

Anxia looked at the paper in her palm and groped it with her thumb

and forefinger. Isn’t this the paper she received from the mysterious person who bumped into her at the ice cream shop?

Anxia opened it and read the contents quickly.

As soon as she read the contents, Anxia felt her heart stop right then

and there. Her head seemed heavy as if a giant boulder had knocked on her head.

Anxia glanced at Richard’s departing back with bloodshot eyes. Not

because she was going to cry but because of her overwhelming hatred for the man.

Anxia crumpled the paper she had read furiously and immediately turned around to return to the helipad. She hoped the helicopter would still be there, but her hopes were dashed because it had departed a few minutes ago.

Anxia decided to find another way and walked until she found a beach where the open sea was in front of her. There were no boats or anything to sail.

Anxia returned again and randomly asked the people working in the palace how to get out of this island. She questioned if there was a boat or bridge to cross, only to get the same answer.

The only way to come and go from this island was via helicopter. Through her interrogation from several maids, Anxia knew that this island was a private island that satellites would not be able to track.

This island did not appear on the map, and the protection system of this place was unbreakable. They would hide in this place for years when an enemy hunted or chased a family member.

That’s why Meisya worried when she heard that Richard would stay on Hallstatt Island for a while. It’s not that this place was dangerous, but on the contrary, it was the safest place, and no enemy would be able to find them there.

Meisya was worried because she knew someone out there was after Richard or his family, so they had to hide for a while in this place.

The servants and staff working in this palace were also chosen people, and the chances of becoming enemy spies were minimal.

Rossie, the housekeeper’s digital assistant, has closely monitored all of their communications. Thanks to that, no one could get out of this island to exchange information with the enemy.

In other words... without Richard’s permission, Anxia would never be able to leave this island.

Anxia glanced at the clock, which was now past the meeting line with a message on her paper, making Anxia unable to hold back the emotions already churning in her heart.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!” she screamed with all she got in her lungs, causing anyone who heard it to jump with shock.

Though the palace on the island was not small, Richard felt like he could hear his wife’s ear-piercing shout as if the girl was standing next to him. ‘Oh, she’s exploded.’ Richard smiled lopsidedly as he played along with his daughter with no care in the world.

Hours later, a butler knocked on Lori’s door to tell Richard that lunch was ready.

Lori’s room was dominated by pink and lots of dolls on the headboard of her bed.

Since Lori was still a toddler, Richard would put Lori to sleep with him or with Anxia. But it seemed that Anxia wasn’t in good condition to keep Lori company, so Richard would take Lori to sleep with him.

When Lori was four or five, the little girl would have her room even if they still lived there.

At least all the new equipment, clothes, and toys have been moved here for the time being. Anxia’s groceries she bought in the country had also been delivered to this place so the girl wouldn’t be fussy about asking to leave this island.

If Anxia wanted to go shopping, she just needed to look at things online, and someone would deliver her groceries later. If Anxia intended to take a walk... this island was not small and had beautiful places to visit.

They could hike a mountain, picnic in a flower garden, or camp in the middle of the forest. They could also go to the beach to build a sand castle or play a kite.

If Anxia behaved and didn’t try to run away, Richard would call the crew to bring him a yacht, and they could sail and enjoy the ocean view. They could even fish or enjoy the stars at night on the yacht cabin.

Richard provided all the facilities that women would desire to please Anxia. Now it depended on Anxia. Is she more concerned with her life, or is she ready to enter his world?

It seemed that his wife would still be trying to get out of this place. Moreover, that woman must have read the hidden message from master Yu’s messenger.

“Baby girl, are you hungry? Let’s eat first.”

“En.” obediently, Lori put down some of the dolls she had been playing with and immediately jumped into her father’s arms.

Richard carried his daughter and walked into the dining room where Anxia had been sitting quietly waiting for him.

If others saw, Anxia currently looked like a woman in general. She sat relaxed with a graceful aura while waiting for her husband and daughter to join her.

But only Richard could feel the bloodthirsty aura on his wife.

Undoubtedly, Qiao Anxia would do everything in her power to kill him. The woman didn’t even say hello to Lori and sat quietly in her chair.

“Mommy? Where have you been? Have you seen my room? My room is beautiful.” as usual, Lori loves to chatter and warm the atmosphere.

Alas, no matter how long Lori tried to elicit a response from her mother, Qiao Anxia didn’t comment.

Until lunch was finally served, Lori no longer asked her mother. She wondered if her mother was still mad at her for this morning.

Lori glanced at her father with teary eyes, thinking she had done something wrong and that Anxia disliked her.

Miraculously, Richard could read his daughter’s mind even though Lori didn’t say it aloud. He knew his daughter had a sharp keen and adapted quickly. He felt sorry for Lori because Anxia had decided to ignore her.

He knew Anxia didn’t want to show the little girl about the monster side of hers, so Anxia remained silent and ignored Lori. Anxia would never expect Lori assumed Anxia was angry with her and wouldn’t talk to her.

If Anxia couldn’t put aside her emotions and make Lori sad by ignoring her, Richard would have to do something.

He would not bring the two together for the next few days, and he was sure that Anxia would also agree.

Richard called his butler and asked him to assign someone to attend to Lori for the next few days.

“Here, I ordered the chef to make pasta for you.” Richard patiently took a little pasta and fed it to his daughter. Lori accepted it meekly while occasionally sneaking a glance at her mother. “Do you like it?”

“En.”

“Enjoy it, sweet girl. Don’t make that face.” Richard lightly pinched Lori’s nose before kissing her forehead affectionately.

Thanks to Richard’s encouragement, Lori’s mood improved, and she started enjoying the delicious lunch. However, none of her parents touch their meal.

Richard was well aware that all meat course knives had disappeared from the table. That means his wife was now holding the knives in her lap.

It was supposed to be a terror condition, knowing an assassin was in the same room and ready to kill him. But Richard looked forward to what would happen in this room right after Lori returned to her chamber.
