Chapter 89

89 Ch. 89 The Past (part 3)

During the social gathering, Richard stuck to his twin brother, making it difficult for others to tell which and which. Even little Anxia had to think twice about talking to Raymond, considering she avoided any convo with Richard.

Well, Anxia was only a child that hated to think hard. The easiest solution was not to strike up a convo with the twins but shifted her attention to Kendrich.

Not long after, one of the ladies, dressed in a luxury gown, appeared to greet them. After speaking of one or more things, other ladies showed up and another until they swarmed around the twins.

“I have a daughter your age, and I believe you would be a good friend of her. Don’t you want to go to school here?”

“She’s right. Are you not planning to study here? Holland is a small country; you need more than a school education here. How about moving here?”

“Don’t listen to them. You better go to England. It just so happened that my sweet little girl was studying there. She could be your best tour guide.”

Somehow the ladies competed against each other to throw their daughters at the twins.

Richard and Raymond looked at each other, looking for someone to save them. They managed to find Kendrich, but the boy was still busy carrying out his father’s orders to accompany Michelle and Anxia at this banquet.

Ah, Kendrich is so unreliable. They thought.

.....

They looked around to find Diego, but their cousin was busy attending to his girlfriend. Even their older cousin was also unreliable.

In the end, they both glanced at their mother with pleading eyes.

‘Mama! Your sons are about to be kidnapped by old ladies! Save us!’

As if she could hear the desperate screams of her two children, Meisya approached them and greeted the ladies who surrounded them.

With such expertise, Meisya answered all the suggested questions with ambiguous answers but said them in a friendly and polite tone.

Unfortunately, these ladies were too brazen and shameless for their own good to the point Meisya was overwhelmed by them. Fortunately, Stanley came to save his wife with his indifferent and oppressive aura.

Gradually, the selfish, ambitious ladies left one by one after hearing Stanley’s subtle but mildly threatening words.

Finally released from the older woman’s clutch, the twins directly blended in with the other cousins. Richard bottomed up a glass of orange juice while Raymond relaxed and chatted with Michele.

Richard placed his glass of drink on the table roughly, then took a deep breath as if he had just finished the world’s most difficult exam questions.

“So childish.”

The corner of Richard’s lips twitched at this sarcastic remark.

He was sure that this voice coming from his right was none other than little Anxia.

But strangely, the girl didn’t look at him and was still busy talking to Kendrich and Harmonie while standing.

How could she still mock him, even though the girl was smiling and joking happily with his two younger siblings at this time?

Richard glanced at the big ribbon attached to the child’s pink princess dress. His playful hand moved and pulled the ribbon slowly until it loosened.

Anxia sensed something wrong with her back and turned around only to find her waist ribbon loosened up and hung down.

Anxia fumbled for the ribbon of her clothes back, then glanced at Richard suspiciously. Not to mention, the corner of the ribbon was on his finger!

“Ah, it seems like the ribbon got caught in my hand.”

Richard could see the irritated look in the girl’s eyes, but Anxia surprised him with a sweet smile.

“It’s okay. But, shouldn’t you fix my ribbon, gege?”

“I have no... ugh!”

Before he finished speaking, Anxia walked over to him and turned around quickly while stomping hard on Richard’s feet.

Did this girl step on him on purpose?

Richard felt like going home right now. He no longer wants to be at this boring party and must accompany Kendrich to serve this devil child.

That’s right. This innocent, sweet girl from the outside was actually a little devil!

With a heavy heart, Richard tied back the ribbon he had untied before his cousins viewed him as irresponsible.

He was used to tying his sister’s hair or dress ribbons, so he was quite skilled at it. His movement was also gentle, and the pressure when tying the ribbon was not too rushed, as if he was afraid he would hurt the girl.

But...

“Gege, it hurts. You tied it too tight?”

“...” Richard was even more speechless when he saw a pair of teary eyes when Anxia turned to look at him.

Richard knew the pressure of the bond all too well and was sure it was completely painless. But this little devil made everyone think he was a heartless boy for tying the ribbon too tight.

“Richie, what’s wrong with you? I know you don’t like kids, but you shouldn’t hurt them.” Raymond scolded and immediately removed his brother to take his place.

He untied Anxia’s ribbon and tied it back in a gentle motion.

Unbeknownst to others, Richard watched Anxia’s expression from the start and was stunned when he saw the corners of the child’s lips lift slightly, and that marked his patience limit.

He wanted nothing more to do with the little devil child and walked up to Diego and the other cousins. His mood improved as he no longer had to deal with that devil girl, but not long after, an ear-splitting glass-breaking sound assaulted his ears.

Richard turned his head and was shocked to see Michelle fall to the floor, clutching her stomach. The merry atmosphere changed to chaos all of a sudden, and that same night, the girl’s parents took her to the hospital before returning to their country a few days later.

No one ever expected that the Wong family’s life would change drastically once they arrived in Hong Kong.

They were kidnapped by Master Yu’s minions while on their way to their home. Master Yu killed the couple right before their daughter while Michelle was taken to a pimp to be trained as a prostitute.

That day, Michelle discovered that Anxia, ??who she had considered like her own sister since the child entered their family three years ago, was the accomplice in killing her parents. On the other hand, Anxia also knows that Michelle’s parents were the head of destroying her family’s happiness by slandering her father.

Therefore, Anxia felt no guilt for poisoning Michelle and let her live as a prostitute.

Anxia and Michelle hated each other and would never forget that day for the rest of their lives.

On the contrary, as time passed, Richard forgot about that annoying little devil, and so did Anxia.
