Chapter 95

95 Ch. 95 Call Me Richie

Richard sighed with satisfaction after finishing his delicious meal. It was the most well-seasoned meal he had ever eaten, and he didn’t hide his delighted face.

Richard realized a bright hue filled Anxia’s face with satisfaction when she saw Richard finish his food. Since his wife had pleased his heart by cooking, even though the woman had never cooked before... wasn’t it about time he gave her some good news?

“Xia Xia, I have good news for you.” his remark earned a confused blink from his wife.

It seemed Anxia was too focused on how to cook a lunch meal these days to the point that she had forgotten her purpose of doing something that could please Richard.

Richard was over the moon thinking Anxia genuinely wanted to cook for him, and he couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear.

“What good news?” Anxia’s mind was overwhelmed with satisfaction to see Richard gobble up everything she had made, and her eyes couldn’t take off from Richard’s endless contented smile as if today’s meal was the most delicious in the world.

At that time, Anxia realized she felt complete, only to see his charming smile and the delighted glint in his eyes. Would he still smile at her if she cooked for him again?

“I got news from Cerberus. Your friend, Ling Meng, has woken up.”

As if someone pulled her back from the dreamland to reality, Anxia stood up suddenly, causing her chair to be forced backward.

.....

Shouldn’t this be great news? Why did his wife look shocked as if she had seen a ghost?

Richard rose to his feet only to approach his wife.

“Xia Xia, are you okay?”

“What... what did you say earlier?” it seemed Anxia couldn’t believe what she had heard.

Knowing Master Yu and the severe damage he had done to Ling Meng, staying alive was a miracle.

“Ling Meng woke up a few hours ago.”

“Seriously? You’re not lying?”

“Why would I lie? You can talk to her via vid-call today if you’d like. How about...”

“Kyaaaaa!!!”

Richard was startled by Anxia’s ear-splitting scream, wrapped her hands around his neck, and bounced like an excited child. It was the first time Anxia initiated hugging him first.

“I’d love to! When? Now? Can we do it now?”

Richard chuckled at his wife’s adorable attitude. “Of course. When have I ever lied to you?”

Anxia’s smile widened even further, then bent her index finger towards Richard as if asking Richard to lower his head slightly. Richard complied, and as if someone lightened up a firework in his heart, it exploded when Anxia placed a light peck on his cheek.

“Thank you,” cheered Anxia, still with a big smile and eyes sparkling like beautiful gems.

Good grief! Who would have thought that his wife would open up to him so easily just because Richard allowed her to talk to Ling Meng?

He couldn’t gauge how lucky he was for deciding to save Ling Meng.

When he read Master Yu’s threatening message, Richard thought about letting it go because he didn’t want Anxia to get back in touch with someone like Ling Meng.

Moreover, hearing Lori’s description that Ling Meng was a bad influence on Anxia made him determined to let Master Yu kill Ling Meng.

But when he heard Anxia’s confession that Ling Meng was one of the reasons Anxia kept the fetus, Richard changed his mind at the last minute and decided to save Ling Meng right then and there.

Fortunately, he saved her. Luckily he dispatched his team members in time before Ling Meng died from blood loss.

If Richard hardened his heart and didn’t help Ling Meng, he wouldn’t enjoy this sweet precious moment. He was sure Anxia would never want to cook his favorite meal, and he was confident that Anxia would not hesitate to kill him when she had the golden opportunity.

Richard felt proud of himself for following his instincts and listening to his inner voice.

However, how could a peck on the cheek satisfy him after spending a lonely time every night?

Richard snaked his arms behind Anxia’s waist and pulled her body closer to him.

“You know, a kiss like that isn’t enough to please me,” smirked Richard, causing Anxia to purse her lips.

“You know, you’re really good at ruining the mood,” complained Anxia, and cursed her husband in her heart, but she still let Richard embrace her.

Richard chuckled at his wife’s complaint and shifted his head lower to kiss a pair of pursed lips briefly.

Anxia didn’t evade or rebel, either. She let him do what he wanted as long as he didn’t go all out. Only when she remembered the burnt kitchen was her heart assailed by guilt.

She should have quickly confessed what had happened to the palace kitchen than for the man to find out from someone else and change his mind about the video call with Ling Meng.

“Richard,”

“Richie.” Richard corrected how she should call him, “I like it better when you call me Richie.”

Anxia felt her blood rush to her face, and a hot steam raised from her head.

“Richie,” Anxia changed her way of addressing, but because she was too shy (which was ridiculous. When did she ever be a shy girl?), her voice became very low, barely even audible.

“Hmm? I didn’t hear it. Call me one more time.”

Anxia was even more nervous when Richard whispered right in front of her earlobe while biting the area of ??her earlobe. Her hands gripped Richard’s shirt cloth shyly as she tried to calm the uncontrollable pounding heart.

“Ri... Richie,” Anxia’s voice was only a little bit louder than before, but she was sure her husband could hear her.

“Once again. I couldn’t hear it.”

Under normal circumstances, Anxia would already be irritated and hit this shameless, absurd husband. But strangely, she wasn’t. Instead, she complied with the man’s request obediently.

“Richie... aaahh...” a sensual moan escape from Anxia’s lips when she felt Richard suck the tip of her ear.

What happened to her!? Since when did her ear become this sensitive?
