Chapter 160 - 160 Ch. 160 The Unbearable Awkwardness

160 Ch. 160 The Unbearable Awkwardness

The following day, they all had breakfast together―Michelle and Anxia still didn’t want to talk to each other. Still, they started to act normal by joining the conversation with other family members. However, they couldn’t see Richard and Raymond, which made the young wives wonder where their husbands could be.

“Anxia, ??Michelle, haven’t your husbands woken up yet?”

Anxia was about to answer, but Michele beat her to it. “I believe Raymond already has, mother. But when I woke up, he was gone.”

Anxia was surprised to hear Michelle’s answer because she was also in the same situation as that girl.

“I will look for them,” Harmonie suggested, then swiftly asked Rossie―her father’s program. “Rossie, do you know where my brothers are? What are they doing?”

“They drank wine in the book room until morning, miss.” the answer from the digital program made everyone widen their eyes.

“How dare they not invite me!? What stupid brothers.”

“Moni,” Stanley called his youngest son in a warning tone, showing that he didn’t like his daughter getting drunk like his sons.

“I’m just kidding.” Moni laughed nervously, facing her father while scratching her head which didn’t itch. “I will call them.” Harmonie decided to run away and look for her two older siblings instead of listening to her father’s nagging.

.....

When Harmonie arrived at the book room, Moni searched for her brothers, but she could see no one. She walked across the long couch and widened her mouth in shock when she saw what her two older siblings were doing.

Currently, Richard and Raymond are lying on the sofa―hugging each other so tenderly as if they were hugging their wives. One rested on his brother’s shoulder, while the other used the brother’s shoulder as his pillow. They wrapped their arms around their brother’s waist and looked like a pair of lovers sleeping in each other’s arms.

Harmonie secretly took her phone from her pocket and then took a picture of her two older siblings with crooked smiles with a naughty idea. Not long after, Anxia and Michelle’s phones rang simultaneously, and both checked on their incoming text. When looking at the screen, both women clenched their mouths to restrain their laughter, threatening to escape.

“Is there something funny? Why are you both chuckling at the same time?” Meisya’s question made Anxia and Michele realize that Harmonie had sent them the same picture.

The two awkwardly put their phones back without giving their mother-in-law an answer. It was not that they didn’t want to answer, but they were waiting for each other to answer their mother-in-law.

Anxia wished to let Michele play a good daughter-in-law role by allowing her to answer their mother-in-law’s question, considering Michele had threatened her to behave. On the other hand, Michelle was willing to let Anxia show the photo to Meisya because she didn’t want to increase her guilt by driving Anxia away from her husband’s family.

After crying and receiving comfort from Raymond, Michele decided to forget the past and start everything from scratch. After all, everyone had made mistakes, and each one deserved a second chance.

If Anxia had indeed changed and genuinely wished to live a new life with Richard Calvin, wouldn’t it be more reassuring if Michele gave her a chance?

After all, hating that girl, bullying Anxia by threatening her and bringing her to her knees, or carrying out her revenge plans neither satisfied nor pleased Michele. On the contrary, Michele felt pressured and tormented, as if she had experienced all the humiliation she gave.

However, Michele didn’t know how to reconcile and was too proud to offer the truce first. At the very least, she could let Anxia outshine her in the eyes of her two in-laws. That way, Anxia’s presence in this family could be more meaningful and make it easier for Michele to repair her relationship with Anxia.

Unfortunately, after waiting for a while and there was no sign of an answer from the other, the two unanimously answered their mother-in-law’s question, making them feel even more awkward.

“Oh, my. Are you two still not comfortable with each other?” Meisya had suspected the awkwardness swirling in between her daughters-in-law. She couldn’t let this awkwardness continue and walked over to her two daughters-in-law and pulled them to sit with Meisya in the middle of them. “Tell me, what makes you uncomfortable? I know you very well and I know you are my sweet girl. Try to get closer to each other. I’m sure you two will suit each other.”

Meisya took Anxia’s hand on her right thigh, while her left hand took Michele’s hand and placed it on her left thigh.

“Ah, I know. How about we go to the gym today? It’s been a while since we haven’t worked out together.”

“Meimei, don’t we have the plan to go to the British museum today?”

“We can go there another day. Now is the time for us to do some sport!” Meisya’s enthusiasm made no one could retort.

Back in the reading room, after Harmonie was satisfied taking her siblings’ silly poses from all camera angles, she woke them up.

“Richie, Rei, wake up. It’s eight in the morning.” Harmonie rocked Richard and Raymond’s shoulders from behind the back of the sofa.

Feeling something shaking their bodies and their partner’s sturdy body, which should be slender―recalling the shape of their wife’s body―both opened their eyes and were very surprised when they saw a masculine face in front of them.

“HUWAAAAA!!!”

“AAAAAAAA!!!!”

Richard fell off the couch as he was lying on edge, shocking Raymond while Harmonie burst out laughing.

“Hahahahahahahahaha… What was that screaming? Are you girls?”

Richard groaned while stroking his back which hit the floor hard, while Raymond groaned tiredly while holding his head.

Raymond glanced at his twin brother, who was sitting on the floor, and Richard looked at him back as if the two were talking telepathically. Then both turned to Harmonie, who was still laughing at them.

The girl’s laughter instantly vanished when she felt two pairs of predatory eyes ready to pounce on her.

Suddenly…

“Dad! Mom! Help me!!” Harmonie immediately screamed while running towards the dining room while her two older brothers chased her.

The laughter of three adult people laughing while running through the long corridor leading to the family room blared, making the maids they passed chuckle. The three siblings played around like little kids, as if they had returned to the past.
