161 Ch. 161 Feel Blessed To Be...

After having breakfast and cleaning up, the Calvin family went to one of London’s largest and most exclusive sports centers. There was a closed room for a gym, swimming pool, and other sports fields, such as tennis, basketball, and football courts.

There was also a particular room for boxing practice with several large black sacks to target their fists. Usually, when Lori entered school, Richard would accompany Anxia to practice boxing at this place. Although Anxia had decided not to worry too much about Master Yu’s threat of danger anymore, Anxia would feel more at ease if she continued to hone her skills.

Richard was willing to understand and let his wife practice so that her fighting skills would not slacken. Their purpose for training was not to fight or attack people but to protect those they cared about. But because they came to the sports center with other family members today, Richard and Anxia would not go to the boxing room.

Harmonie urged everyone to an open field with several extensive areas. Each lot was bounded by a high wall with a strong wire so that any ball could not fly and enter another field. One was a basketball court, while the other was a volleyball and tennis court. One more field was smaller, specifically for children’s play areas.

There was a mini basketball court, a close-up archery area with toy bows and arrows, and a medium-sized trampoline where kids like Lori could jump on it.

Initially, Harmonie played volleyball with Anxia while Michele held Eugene bouncing on the trampoline with Lori. Seeing how Michele watched over her daughter made Anxia wonder what the change. She wouldn’t be able to forgive Michele if that woman touched a single hair of Lori. But after pondering Richard’s explanation that Michele had no evil intention toward her, Anxia could see the other woman’s sincerity when talking to Lori.

Anxia was too lost to focus on volleyball and didn’t notice Harmonie hit the ball toward her. “Anxia!” Harmonie called her sister-in-law’s name frantically, hoping the girl would soon wake up from her reverie.

Fortunately, Anxia had strong reflexes and instincts, so without even looking up, she knew that a volleyball was heading her way as soon as Harmonie shouted her name. She stepped aside swiftly, and the volleyball landed on the ground where Anxia was standing before and bounced back without hitting her.

“Anxia, ??you scared me to death. Why are you daydreaming?” Harmonie sprinted toward Anxia with a face filled with worry. Even if one wouldn’t die out of the knocking ball, Anxia could’ve been hospitalized.

.....

“Are you okay?” Richard, who had just arranged a lounge chair and drinks and light snacks on a round table with Raymond and Meisya, approached his wife after hearing the hysterical screams of his youngest sister.

“I’m fine. I have good reflexes, don’t I?”

Richard chuckled while gently stroking the back of his wife’s head, and Anxia enjoyed her husband’s caresses. However, Harmonie still worried sick and felt guilty for aiming at Anxia’s weak spot―Anxia’s head.

Among the Calvin family, only Meisya and Harmonie didn’t know Anxia’s actual past. For this reason, Harmonie never thought that Anxia could easily avoid the volleyball and thought it was just a coincidence when Anxia walked to avoid the direction of the misfortune.

“How about letting the men have a match? I haven’t seen my boys play volleyball in a long time.” came the suggestion from Meisya.

“Mom, seeing Richie and Rei playing a match would be too boring.”

One of Richard’s eyebrows raised at his sister’s grunt. “If it’s boring, why did you ask us to join the volleyball team at your school?”

“Hehehe… My friends like to see you sweating on the field. Oh, do you remember the basketball game in your college? At that time I invited my friends to see your match. You lifted your shirt showing your abs, and suddenly―hmmph!!”

Richard clasped his naughty sister’s mouth, ignoring Harmonie’s protests, struggling to let her go.

“Stop it right here. Hm?”

Harmonie shook her head mockingly, making Richard want to smack his super-naughty sister’s head. But Richard didn’t have time to react to his sister’s taunt when he felt a cold gaze coming from… who else, if not his wife?

Anxia narrowed her eyes suspiciously, making Richard smile awkwardly.

“So, you had used your pheromones even in your younger days, huh? No wonder many girls are near you and chasing you like bees swarming a flower.”

“That’s not true. Don’t listen to her.” Richard stared dagger at his sister and pulled her out of the field. “You come with me.”

Raymond laughed out loud, watching the siblings’ interaction and how helpless Richard was in front of Anxia.

As soon as Richard’s hand left his sister’s mouth, Harmonie’s laughter suddenly blared, causing Richard to shake his head in resignation.

“You see that? Brother Richie is afraid of his wife. Hahaha…”

“Moni, you’re so naughty. Look at your sister-in-law. She is flustered.”

Anxia blinked a few times as four pairs of eyes looked at her. Everyone chuckled in amusement, seeing Anxia’s confusion.

“Anxia, ??I was kidding earlier, and I just want to tease my brother,” explained Harmonie in a playful tone, making Anxia stunned.

It was the first time she had seen the three Calvin siblings together and the first time she had witnessed their banter and mischief.

This morning, as they were all waiting for the three siblings in the dining room, Harmonie appeared in a hurry and ran to hide behind her father or mother while Richard and Raymond chased her about to tickle their sister, stunning Anxia.

Although Anxia occasionally met Harmonie and became close to the girl, she never saw Harmonie teasing Richard or her husband’s reaction to Harmonie.

Is this what it feels like to have a sibling? That’s why the Calvin family was filled with a warm and peaceful atmosphere when all family members were in the same place. They were filled with love, and there were no walls or bridges to keep them apart.

Now Anxia knew how blessed Michele was to be in this family―how blessed she was to be part of the Calvins.
