Chapter 243 - 243 Ch. 243 Elliot’s Adoration For His Mom

243 Ch. 243 Elliot’s Adoration For His Mom

“Mom, can I ask you something?”

“Of course.” Anxia listened to her son’s questions while listening to someone’s footsteps outside.

“How did you feel when you discovered I was your son?”

Anxia blinked a few times at her son’s unexpected question. “I was so surprised. At the same time, I felt stupid. How could I not realize I was carrying twins and let someone else take you? I feel so stupid.”

“No, you’re not. They say that mothers are smarter than their babies, so it’s not your fault.”

“Are you saying I’m a baby?” Anxia pinched her son’s nose, inviting amused laughter from the boy.

The next second, Anxia heard the sound of a punch from outside, making her reflexively look toward the room’s balcony.

“Mama?”

“Shhh.” interrupted Anxia while holding her son’s mouth subtly.

.....

Then Anxia picked up her son and took the boy to a corner of the room far from the balcony door. She ordered Elliot to squat down and hide behind the table without making a sound.

“Don’t get out of here before I call you, okay?”

Elliot nodded while showing a clear look of concern. He didn’t know what was happening, but the moment he saw his mother raising her guard, he immediately knew that something was wrong.

“Don’t be afraid. I won’t let anyone touch you.” Anxia comforted while stroking the top of her son’s head which was Elliot’s newest favorite activity lately.

He never liked anyone touching his head, and only Jamie was allowed to touch it—he even disliked it when Loraine Shu touched his head. But now, he enjoyed it when his mother patted or ruffled his hair.

As Anxia stood up and walked towards the balcony, Elliot lowered his head to ensure no one could see him.

Anxia stood silently next to the balcony door, and her hand was ready to attack as a human figure appeared before her. She had turned off the bedroom light and left only a small decorative lamp beside Elliot’s bed. The balcony door to this room has also been locked so that outsiders cannot enter if they don’t break the glass door.

And yet...

Click!

This intruder had the key to this room’s balcony door! That means her mother did send someone to infiltrate this room.

Anxia stepped back to ensure the intruder didn’t notice her presence while Elliot, who was peeking through the hole between the table and the wall of his room, was having a cold sweat.

He could see a very tall human silhouette… much taller than his mother, turning the lock on the balcony door, and was about to enter his room.

Elliot had never seen Anxia beat people before, and he didn’t even know that Anxia was a former assassin and almost always succeeded in her assassination missions.

Elliot was worried about his mother, who was like an ant in front of this giant bear.

Elliot glanced at the chandelier stuck to the wall next to the table where he was hiding. Just before the suspicious intruder opened the balcony door, Elliot turned off the last light making the room completely dark.

Anxia smiled happily to see that the area at the end of Elliot’s hiding room had become pitch black. The only place that was lit from outside was this balcony area.

The door opened silently, causing Anxia to be even more alert. The last time Mei Yin visited her, Anxia couldn’t sense the girl’s presence. Although Anxia was confident that she could feel the presence of outsiders and relied on her agility and intelligence, she knew… there were still many people out there who were superior to her.

And now… this person could open the door without a sound and put his feet lightly as if there was no weight, inflicting no sound.

The person gazed towards the bed where no one was, then turned towards where Anxia was hiding. But before his gaze moved to Anxia, ??Anxia had attacked him first by swinging her foot to kick the person.

Dexterously, the intruder raised an arm and blocked Anxia’s kick, causing Anxia to make a circular motion and swing her leg one hundred and eighty degrees to hit the person’s head. Unfortunately, the intruder managed to block her kick again.

This made Anxia frustrated, and she wondered if her fighting ability had dropped drastically.

Anxia was too late to prevent the person from going inside, and in the end, she had to find a way to keep the person from approaching her son’s hiding place.

Little did Anxia know that Elliot’s mouth was wide open at this moment, and his eyes widened as if his eyeballs had almost jumped out of their places.

‘Is that my mother?’ The same question was swirling in his head. The way Anxia kicks, punches, and her willpower to overpower her opponent were so cool!! The word ‘fascinated’ couldn’t describe how he felt right now.

His heartbeat trembled violently, but not because of the fear he had felt before, but rather a sense of awe, adoration, and immense pride for having a mother like Qiao Anxia.

Meanwhile, Anxia was increasingly frustrated, given that none of her assaults hit her opponent. Strangely, she felt that this intruder was deliberately playing games with her and was not serious when counterattacking.

Anxia started to get suspicious of this person’s identity because the intruder was wearing a cloth face covering that covered half of his face from the nose down.

Feeling suspicious about the face behind the black cloth, Anxia tried to pull the cloth to see her opponent’s face. But her hand was grabbed by the intruder and vice versa.

Anxia’s footsteps retreated as her opponent pushed her back until her back hit the wardrobe, and her hands were caught in the intruder’s grip.

Anxia glared at her opponent, and that’s when she saw a pair of brown eyes filled with mischievous glints and humor.

“You!” Anxia widened her eyes because now she knew who this person was.

In the next instant, Anxia lowered her head and then jerked it swiftly until the top of her head hit her opponent’s chin, causing the intruder to groan in pain and release his grip.

Not wanting to waste this golden opportunity, Anxia immediately pushed her opponent’s body away and launched a series of attacks, forcing her opponent to walk backward until his knees hit the edge of the bed, and he fell on the bed.

Anxia immediately jumped up and straddled her opponent while holding the man’s arms, even though she knew her opponent could attack her again.

But the man didn’t fight back, instead teased her. “Well, you look sexier from down here.”

Instantly Anxia’s hand reflexively moved and slapped him, startling the man.
