Not long after, the two women waited silently; Anxia could hear two distinct footsteps and flashed a faint smile.

“Mama, Grandma,” greeted a small boy as soon as the door opened, and Elliot jogged to meet his grandmother.

Loraine Shu hugged Elliot warmly, and her big smile made Anxia wonder, did this woman truly love Elliot, or was she acting so the boy would adore her as his grandmother?

If the woman in front of her were her birth mother, Anxia wouldn’t be surprised if this woman cared for Elliot because that child was indeed her grandson. But if this woman weren’t, it would be hard to believe that this woman loved Elliot for nothing, especially after knowing that Elliot’s name has been determined to be the sole heir of all belonging to Deke Shu.

Elliot’s shyness made Anxia not know whether her son was acting to catch Loraine’s heart off guard. If Elliot was acting, Anxia had to admit her son’s acting was top-notch!

Anxia didn’t know whether she should be proud or worried that her son’s acting was so perfect that no one could tell which was genuine and which was fake.

She was proud that Elliot had survived and tricked his opposition into not knowing his true abilities.

“Aw… I want to come with you guys, but who will take care of this place if I go? I must stay here.”

“So I can go with mama?” Elliot asked in a hopeful tone, eyes twinkling as he held his grandmother’s hand as if expecting an answer he wanted to hear. Anyone who received a gaze shining like a galaxy full of hope would not be able to let that boy down.

“Of course, you can.”

“Yeah!” Elliot shouted happily, bouncing up and down with joy.

Anxia briefly noticed the shocked look from Loraine for agreeing to the departure of the only pillar of her victory. But before the woman could voice her comment to change her mind, Elliot had tiptoed to kiss his grandmother’s cheek, surprising Anxia, and Loraine.

“Thank you, grandma. You are the best. I love you so much to the moon.” Elliot continued while forming two tiny hearts with his index finger and thumb.

After receiving the statement of how much Elliot loved her, Loraine couldn’t help but swallow her protest words back in her throat.

“Xiao Guang, won’t you miss me?”

“Of course, I will miss you, Grandma. You can come to London anytime, and I will be a tour guide for you to walk around London. We can also take Lori, and we’ll be taking lots of pictures so I can show my friends that I have the best grandma in the world.”

Loraine was increasingly unable to listen to her grandson’s honey-like coaxing words.

On the other hand, Anxia held back her smile, hearing how smart Elliot was to make Loraine Shu couldn’t retort a word. She would be a meany grandma if she crushed her own grandson’s heart.

“It will be awesome! You will have to visit us, okay? Promise?” Elliot exerted all his acting skills and now raised his little finger toward his grandmother.

“Promise,” said Loraine languidly while linking her little finger towards the child, making Anxia barely able to hold back her laughter.

If it turned out this woman was her birth mother, perhaps Anxia would still accept her. At least, the woman’s affectionate look toward Elliot was genuine.

One’s eyes could never lie, and Anxia could see Loraine Shu genuinely treasured Elliot, whether as her grandson or her life trophy.
