Chapter 258 - 258 Ch. 258 The Lioness Had Returned

258 Ch. 258 The Lioness Had Returned

No one knew how long Mei Yin and Song Lei stared at each other without wanting to budge. Ultimately, Mei Yin stepped aside because she wanted the man to leave the place immediately.

“Yang Guang, I heard that you are going with your mother. Is that true?”

Mei Yin frowned at Song Lei’s question. “What’s that got to do with you?”

“Yang Guang, look me in the eye and say, is it true?” Paying no heed to Mei Yin’s question, Song Lei urged the frightened little boy to meet his eyes.

Elliot’s hands were shaking more, and his tears were getting heavier, making him even less daring to lift his face.

“Yang Guang,” Song Lei was starting to lose his temper because the boy had not looked up the whole time.

That kid dared to rebel against him? Even though currently the child was being looked after by Anxia and Mei Yin, Song Lei still had many ways to punish the child to the point the boy would no longer rely on someone else.

Elliot knew this too. Even if mother and Mei Yin were by his side and protected him, they couldn’t possibly be with him for twenty-four hours.

Once he is alone...

.....

“Who are you?”

Suddenly a female voice came from behind Song Lei, making Mei Yin breathe a sigh of relief.

Finally… the lioness had returned!!

Anxia stared at Song Lei with an unfriendly cold gaze and realized that this person was the person she had crossed paths with when she visited the Russian doctor.

“My name is Song Lei, and I am your mother’s, right-hand man.”

“What are you doing in front of my son’s room?”

“I just want to talk to him.”

Anxia stepped forward without taking her eyes off Song Lei. As she stood face to face with the huge man like an angry wild bear, Anxia didn’t feel intimidated. Instead, she gave orders through her eyes for the man to get out of her way.

The man had barred her from entering her son’s room, which displeased Anxia. She felt like this man was trying to separate her from her child, and she wouldn’t let that happen.

Song Lei was forced to step aside to make way for Anxia when he sensed the girl’s deathly aura. Unlike Mei Yin, who had to think twice about going against him and limited herself to acting rashly, Anxia had no boundaries.

The girl was always ready to fight anyone because she was like a lioness who would kill all hunters who wanted to hurt her cubs.

With leisurely steps, Anxia walked into the room to see the state of her son sitting while lowering his head. She also caught the boy’s tiny hands, which were wet with tears, making her understand instantly this older man was a bad news.

“What do you want to talk to him about?” Anxia’s tone sounded demanding as she asked Song Lei. Neither friendliness nor smile on Anxia’s face made Mei Yin want to laugh inwardly.

“Nothing.”

“Nothing?” Mei Yin’s chuckle unexpectedly made Anxia glance at the girl in surprise. “Didn’t you want to make sure whether Elliot would go with Miss Anxia or not?”

While Anxia had yet to come, Mei Yin kept herself from crossing the line because she realized she was only an ordinary subordinate and had nothing to do with Elliot.

But now that Anxia had returned, Mei Yin seemed to have forgotten the boundary line and attacked Song Lei again by cornering the man. If that man’s image became ugly in Anxia’s eyes, it would be even more difficult for Song Lei to approach Elliot because Anxia would double her guard.

“Is there a problem if I bring my son? My mother even allowed it; why do you mind?” Song Lei hid his feelings so well that Anxia had difficulty reading the man’s mind.

“If madam Shu doesn’t mind, then there is nothing more for me to talk about. Have a nice day.” Song Lei decided to back off first, knowing he couldn’t trick Anxia because that girl was as cunning as her grandfather.

Anxia’s gaze still did not move from the direction of the bedroom door, even though Song Lei’s back had not been seen for a long time.

The only thing that could stir her reverie was a tiny touch on her right hand. Instantly Anxia turned to her son, who was now holding her little finger. Anxia’s heart winced as she felt the icy skin of her son’s palms.

This child was afraid, and she couldn’t imagine how much the fear Elliot’s little shoulders had to carry made her hate her mother even more.

Anxia squatted down and cupped her son’s face with both hands to slowly lift her son’s face so she could look into the boy’s black eyes.

“El, don’t be afraid. I am here.” Anxia said it in a very gentle and warm tone as soon as her son’s black eyes looked straight into hers.

The silky tone from Anxia’s mouth made Mei Yin stunned to hear it. Before this, Anxia made a cold voice that one could see a sword coming out of Anxia’s mouth every time the girl made a sound.

But now… the voice that comes out of this former assassin is a voice that is as warm as the sun and soothing.

Was this the real Qiao Anxia when talking to her children?

Elliot’s tears welled up, and he hugged his mother’s neck with trembling hands. The only one who could frighten Elliot like this was Song Lei.

Mentally, his mind and body trembled whenever he saw that face covered in horrible wounds. Every time the man came to his room, he would end up in a dark and dusty warehouse that made him feel traumatized and afraid of the dark.

It explained he had a decorative mini lamp next to his bed to give a bit of light so that he wouldn’t be too scared.

But since he slept with Anxia, ??Elliot had begun to brave the darkness. He even took the initiative to turn off the lights when an intruder entered his room and fought with his mother. He felt all his nightmares and trauma would gradually recover as long as his mother was with him.

Elliot felt sure now―he wanted to get out of this place!
