Chapter 260 - 260 Ch. 260 Mei Yin’s Weakness

260 Ch. 260 Mei Yin’s Weakness

Loraine Shu couldn’t answer and just gulped nervously. She had never thought that the girl in front of her at this moment looked so scary that it made her guts shrink.

“What? Is the cat biting your tongue now? I would have killed you long ago if you weren’t my mother.”

“That’s not something you can tell your mother, Miss Anxia.”

Anxia glanced unreservedly at the sound and immediately became furious when she saw Song Lei. The man surprised her even more when Song Lei pulled her mother behind that man’s back, trying to protect the woman from her. She could even sense the relief in her mother’s look when Song Lei entered this room.

So now her mother’s heart was on this man instead of her own daughter?

Good! Very good!! From then on, Anxia would never again think of Loraine as her mother.

“She’s not my mother. From this second, she is not my mother! And if you still insist on having Mei Yin come with me, I will wrack this place. Mind my words!”

“You won’t. Aren’t you worried about your son?”

Anxia snorted as she had guessed the man would use Elliot as a shield. “I am my mother’s child, and if my mom can ignore me, I can too. Let’s see, does that woman love me more or this place.”

.....

There was no hesitation in Anxia’s eyes as she said it as if the girl would do everything as she stated. Even Song Lei could not guess the girl’s train of thought and took her words seriously.

Well, Anxia did mean what she said. She would blow up this place if her mother insisted on her wishes. Of course, she had to get Elliot, Jamie, and her father out of there before planting the bomb. And she was lying when she said she didn’t care about Elliot.

After feeling satisfied seeing the pale look on her mother and the suppressed expression of frustration from Song Lei, Anxia turned and walked away. She returned to her son’s room, where Mei Yin still accompanied Elliot.

“How is it?” Mei Yin immediately asked about the results when Anxia entered and closed the door.

“You stay here.”

“Wow, how did you do that? Madam Loraine Shu was quite stubborn, and as far as I can remember, no one could change her decision apart from Song Lei.

Song Lei again? Why did Anxia feel like her mother would do whatever Song Lei ordered?

“Mei Yin, how long have you known Song Lei?”

“About ten years, but I’ve always avoided him, so I’m unfamiliar. What is it?”

“Why are you avoiding him?”

Mei Yin rolled her eyes lazily in response to this question. “At that time, I was young and… a crybaby. Facing such a frightening man, what teenager wouldn’t run like a dog was chasing him.”

“Then, are you not afraid now?”

“I’m still scared. But at least I don’t have to feel intimidated when I’m sure I haven’t done anything wrong. Furthermore, Master Deke Shu has come to see me and fully supports me in serving you. You could say I have an ace against Song Lei and your mother.”

“My grandfather? My grandfather met you?”

“Hm.”

“What kind of person is my grandpa?”

Mei Yin scratched her neck while trying to remember her meeting with the older man.

“I didn’t see his face. I was kidnapped out of the blue, and they covered my head with a black cloth. Then when somebody removed the cloth covering my head, I was already in a traditional Chinese-style room, and a man sitting in a wheelchair was behind the room, divided by the curtain. I don’t know what kind of person he is, but his voice is weak yet authoritative. He is a true leader. Even though he is old, he still exudes a powerful dignity even though I don’t see his appearance.”

Anxia felt more and more curious about her grandfather. How come her grandfather never came to see her? Why did the older man meet and send someone else to help her?

What exactly was the older man’s goal?

No matter Deke Shu’s intentions towards her, Anxia would not forgive him if Deke prevented her from bringing her son home with her. Like her mother, the man had never looked for her in these twenty years, and she never knew that she still had a maternal grandfather. Suddenly, her grandfather appeared out of nowhere and provided assistance when Anxia was about to rebel against her mother.

Anxia also remembered her conversation with the Russian doctor a few hours ago. After explaining what the doctor had done under Loraine Shu’s orders, Anxia asked why the doctor only now confessed to her.

‘Master Deke Shu told me to reveal everything for you. After all, my mother died four months ago, and I am no longer afraid of Loraine and have decided to tell you the truth.’

The paper written in Russian that she handed to her mother was a statement stating that Anxia’s uterus had been damaged during her birth. But the doctor never gave her the report and kept it all this time without telling her.

That letter was also the first image she saw on Mei Yin’s cellphone when the Asian girl confronted him in a public toilet in Kensington Park. “Mei Yin, the picture you showed me, the picture of a piece of paper written in Russian… where did you get it?”

“From the master. Why?”

“Why do I feel… my grandfather is trying to make me and my mother kill each other?”

“Why do you think like that?”

“I don’t know. But my instincts told me that, and usually, my instincts are always right.”

“…” Mei Yin didn’t comment and let Anxia dwell in her thoughts.

Anxia noticed the girl was unusually quiet. “Is there something you’re hiding from me?”

“Nothing.”

“I thought I could entrust Elliot’s safety to you, but it seems wrong to think this way. There’s no one I can trust in this place. I was surrounded by a band of my mother’s men on my left while my grandfather prepared to stab me in the back on my right.”

“…”

“Mei Yin, if you want me to believe you, tell me your weaknesses. What keeps you from going against my mother? Despite my grandfather’s support, you don’t dare to go against her because my mother knows your weakness. Is not it?”

“...” Mei Ying gulped as she received Anxia’s piercing gaze as if the gleam of her eyes could penetrate deep into her heart. She felt she could no longer hide anything from this former assassin girl.

“Yes. Your mother held onto my weakness that your grandfather didn’t have. Because of this weakness, I cannot betray her blatantly and only become her slave.”

“What’s that?”

“Can I trust you? What assurance can assure me that you will never use my weakness.”
