Ch. 85: A Lazy Morning
After we crushed the enemy hideout and saved Corally and the newborn Dragon, Hati and I slept in the main mansion.
When we finally got to sleep, it was only a few hours till the break of dawn.
Werner: “........must be past noon.” When I awoke, the day was entering the afternoon.
I could tell by looking at the position of the sun.
Werner: “Should I make a clock? ……but would it be faster to buy one….?” Clock Artifacts already exist.
So I wasn’t sure if it was worth trying to redesign an already made Artifact.
Hati: “Pupi～” (*sfx snoring)
“Pi～” (*sfx snoring)
Hati and the newborn Dragon snored gently as they slept on top of my stomach.
They looked very comfortable.
Not wanting to wake them up, I picked them up slowly and placed them next to me.
Werner: “Hati must have been exhausted.”
Even though she is still a Dragon child herself, she worked hard for me yesterday.
I wanted to let her sleep as much as she liked.
As I rose up from the bed, I studied the sleeping newborn Dragon.

Then I wanted to let it rest as much as it liked.
Werner: “They say those who sleep develop better.”
I petted both Hati and the newborn Dragon gently and then left the room.
I headed straight for the dining hall.
There, I found my sister, Bridget, and Lotte eating lunch together and chatting happily.
Bridget: “Good morning, Werner. You could have slept longer if you liked.”
Werner: “Good morning, sister. If I slept any longer, I wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.” It’s not good to change your sleep cycle so drastically. Better to be awake during the day and asleep at night.
Werner: “Good morning, Lotte.” Lotte: “Yes, Master. Good morning. I’m curious to hear about yesterday.” Werner: “That’s right. Thank you for your help yesterday.”

Apparently, my sister also didn’t eat breakfast right after she woke up.
Werner: “Let me explain yesterday’s events.” Lotte: “Yes, thank you very much.” I recounted the series of events carefully.
As I was speaking, they brought the meal, so I continued my story while eating - taking my time.
It was the same exact explanation as I gave to my sister before we went to bed.

Lotte volunteered to follow me back up to the guest bedroom.
She was very eager to see this cute newborn Dragon.
I took Lotte and returned to my room.
As I opened the door, I saw the newborn Dragon crying and Hati looking panicked and concerned.
Werner: “What’s wrong?” Hati: “My Lord! You came at a good time!”

The newborn Dragon flapped his wings and flew into my chest.
And with its small hands and legs, it clung to my clothes.

And as it clung to me, it became very calm.
Werner: “What’s wrong? Are you hungry? Do you need to use the bathroom?”
