CH 127

[Nostalgia and Discomfort]

Al, who appeared in front of Genocider that’s standing so as to cover Gile, swings the swords in both of her hands, creating shockwaves that cut through the air, wounding Genocider’s tough skin.

“She wounded it with just shockwaves…” (Frick)

Although I had always been astonished at Alfine’s sword technique in her adventurer days, I can only say the one she’s displaying right now is simply amazing.

She seems to have changed her sword style to dual swords; I really envy her adaptability to be able to wield them so freely in such a short period of time.

Neither the appearance nor the sword style are that of the previous Alfine’s, but the way she fight itself is just like her as she has always been.

“Gile, surrender and release King Frederick!” (Alfine)

“For the likes of an adventurer to command me as soon as you intrude, who do you think you are!” (Gile)

“Do you perhaps not remember my voice? Royal Guard Knights Commander-dono?” (Alfine)

“That voice…could it be, Alfine-dono?” (King Frederick)

King Frederick, who is restrained by Gile, seems to have perceived Al’s true identity after hearing her voice.

“Al…fine? No way, he’s a man and he neither has black hair nor black eyes. Are you getting senile, shitty geezer?” (Gile)

“The appearance is different, but that voice and sword technique are definitely that of Alfine-dono’s. Gile, are your eyes bad?” (King Frederick)

“Noisy! Shut up! Genocider, kill that adventurer right this instant!” (Gile)

Gile gets angry at King Frederick’s words and orders Genocider to attack Al.

“I had never thought a spineless guy like you would ever do something like this. Alright, I’ll get rid of that monster in a jiffy and have you hand over your head.” (Alfine)

Dodging Genocider’s strike, Alfine jumps onto its hand and sends out thrusts at its face at a speed that can’t be followed by the eye.

How does she keep her balance?

And just how could she freely launch thrust after thrust even from such an absurd position?

With a series of thrusts concentrated in the same place, even Genocider’s tough skin is mangled, and the bones inside begins to be visible.

It seems that at this rate, she could even crush Genocider’s bones and kill it, but suddenly Alfine’s stilettos make some noises and shatters.

“My swords are…” (Alfine)

“Alfine! Don’t let your guard down in front of him!” (Frick)

The raging Genocider’s fist approaches Alfine, who is showing an opening due to her swords broken.

I draw Dayle and cast Stone Wall magic.

The stone wall jutting out of the ground is destroyed by Genocider’s fist, but Alfine manages to get out of the danger during that time.

“My bad, you saved me! Finn…I mean, Frick-san.” (Alfine)

“For now let’s focus on the enemy in front of us. I will distract it. Can I leave the attack to you?” (Frick)

“Ah, yeah. Leave it to me.” (Alfine)

Alfine picks up swords that the fleeing knights have thrown away and begins to wait for the best timing to attack.

Once she finds an opening, Alfine should go for the attack without a prompt while I’m fighting Genocider.

We must settle this before the cornered Gile has another outburst and kill the King.

I also send a signal with my eyes to Noelia who is watching the situation.

I ask her to help stalling it with magic.

With the three of us working together, even Genocider shouldn’t be much of an opponent.

Noelia, understanding the meaning of my gaze, begins to chant support magic to distract Genocider’s attention.

With that chanting as a signal, I ready Dayle and slash at Genocider whose facial skin has fallen off by more than half.

Noelia’s ice-attributed magic freezes Genocider’s feet, creating a chance of attack.

If it’s at the part where the bones are exposed, the damage of the Spell Sword should be able to pass through easily.

Dayle, too, please support me.

[Roger! Dayle will make it convulsed!] (Dayle)

“O’ many lightnings floating in the atmosphere, dwell in my sword and become a great flash of lightning. Thunder Sword.” (Frick)

After the magic activated and lightning covered Dayle, I launch a slash toward Genocider’s head that’s been exposed due to Alfine’s attacks.

Maybe because its tough skin has come off, the moment Dayle’s blade touches its bones, the lightning run all over Genocider’s body.

“Ugooooooooo!!!”

The Genocider roars like a beast, probably because the pain it felt.

And the surroundings get filled with the smell of charred flesh.

“That’s Frick’s Spell Sword… This is the first time I’m seeing it, but it’s power is amazing… And his sword technique is so good that it’s on a whole different level compared to the one in the past. So this is Finn’s true strength…” (Alfine)

“Frick-sama, the Genocider is aiming at you with that light!” (Noelia)

Genocider, who let out pained roar, takes some distance from us, raises its right hand and discharges a pale light.

That projectile that it can shoot is too fast to be intercepted.

If I avoid it, it may hit Alfine behind me.

“O’ unseen air. Becomes a solid barrier and manifests thyself in the surroundings. Wind Barrier.” (Frick)

At the same time as my magic is activated, the projectile shot by Genocider breaks the barrier.

Kh! It’s crushed in one blow, as always.

However, I manage to buy time until the next shoot.

“Frick-san, thank you. I’m safe thanks to you. Does that attack take time?” (Alfine)

Alfine, who is waiting for an opening at the back, says words of gratitude to me, which were things she had never said to me before.

She would have never say that kind of things to me in this sort of situation, and yet…

I’m getting kind of confused.

“Yeah, it should take some time until it can do that again.” (Frick)

“In that case, I will engage it. Please support me.” (Alfine)

“Ah, yeah. Hold on a second. O’ burning flames, dwell in the weapon and burn the enemies. Fire Weapon.” (Frick)

I chant the magic to grant an attribute to a weapon used by Linus.

Flames clad Alfine’s swords.

“This is?” (Alfine)

“You should be able to deal higher damage with this. You may not like magic, but combining it with your sword technique should make you even more powerful.” (Frick)

I know that Alfine hates magic, but I decided that it would be better to increase her power by granting magic to the swords she picked up so that she could inflict greater damage on Genocider.

Seeing the flame-cladded swords, Alfine murmurs softly,

“Thank you, Finn. I am sorry for all the selfish things I’ve said to you until now…” (Alfine)

“Eh? What did yo——?” (Frick)

Alfine’s mutter was so quiet that I couldn’t hear it, but looking at her expression, she doesn’t seem to be angry.

That Alfine readies her flame-cladded swords and charges at Genocider.

Her attacks are fierce, the flames burns deep into Genocider’s torn, tough skin, and its wounds are visibly increasing.

“Frick-sama, let us support her and settle this as soon as possible!” (Noelia)

“Yeah, I’ll support Alfine.” (Frick)

“O’ solid stone sleeping in the ground, intersect with the atmosphere, form a spiral, and pierce mine enemy! ‘Spiral Bullet’” (Noelia)

The magic fired by Noelia hit the Genocider’s right arm, destroying its weapon that can launch that projectile that can’t be seen.

In the meantime, I move to a spot where I can support Alfine and distract the Genocider with magic to turn its attention to me so that its attack isn’t concentrated on her.
