CH 147

[The Moment of Victory]

“There’s another Genocider here!”

“The Genocider is going to enter the city!”

“The wall has collapsed! The Abyss Walkers are showing signs of going to enter the city too! Block them!”

The knights, seeing the collapsed wall, rush towards the collapsed part in an attempt to prevent the Genocider and Abyss Walkers from rushing into the city.

“I will create a temporary wall! Become a stone wall and manifest at the place I point out. Stone Wall.” (Noelia)

When Noelia finished her chanting, a stone wall raises up at the part where the wall collapsed.

However, immediately after, the wall that raised from the ground is destroyed without a trace by the pale light emitted from the right hand of the Genocider.

We can’t stop them!

The moment I thought that the enemies’ invasion is already unstoppable———

I see a huge rock golem raising up from the ground.

“I won’t let any of you get into the city!” (Cinzia)

The huge fist of the rock golem created by Cinzia hits the Abyss Walkers who are trying to invade from the collapsed part of the wall.

“Cinzia-sama!” (Frick)

“I’ll force back the Abyss Walkers with the knights! You guys take care of the Genocider!” (Cinzia)

Cinzia, riding on the shoulder of the huge rock golem, swats the approaching Abyss Walkers flying.

“Al, Noelia! Let’s defeat the other Genocider!” (Frick)

“Understood!” (Noelia)

“Un! Let’s!” (Al)

We run toward the collapsed part of the wall in order to subjugate the newly appearing Genocider.

Just how many of them are there anyway?

If there are 100 or 200, we definitely won’t be able to hold on.

Because of the appearance of the new Genocider, I’m beginning to feel anxious about not being able to grasp the full force of the enemy.

Crown Prince Rodrick and the Frontier Count might have felt the same kind of anxiety during the Great Invasion.

I never thought that a battle where the victory condition can’t be seen will wear down one’s nerves so much.

If we make a wrong decision, Youg Hannotes will disappear together with the people who fled to the city.

Feeling the burden I’m carrying on my back anew, I feel my stomach hurts.

“Frick! A man I’ve allowed to have ‘skinship’ with me mustn’t make such a face! It’ll lower the morale of the knights! Make a face like you can beat up even a hundred Genociders without breaking a sweat!” (Gawain)

Gawain, having jumped down from a wyvern, lands right on top of the head of an Abyss Walker while saying so.

Don’t ask the impossible…

However, what Gawain said has a point.

Loosening my grim facial expression, I yell at the fighting knights.

“No matter how many Genociders come, I, the Crimson Magic Swordsman Frick, will kill them all! I will definitely protect Youg Hannotes!” (Frick)

I hear the cheers of the knights who heard my declaration.

“Now that’s the man I allow to have ‘skinship’ with me! I will also help.” (Gawain)

Gawain, who has crushed the head of the Abyss Walker to the ground as he landed, grows one size bigger, probably because he has stacked body enhancement magic on his body.

“Huumph!” (Gawain)

With the fist backed with the full power of his body, he sends the Abyss Walker in front of him flying.

He then kicks off the ground and throws dozens of punches at the Abyss Walker, who is blown away.

The Abyss Walker, blown away further, strikes against the pile of rubbles of the collapsed wall, rising up smoke.

Even though he’s a mage, he fights with his fists; can he even still be counted as one?

Anyways, thanks to him, the path towards the Genocider is immediately opened.

“O’ many lightnings floating in the atmosphere, dwell in my sword and become a great flash of lightning. Thunder Sword.” (Frick)

Along with the mirage body, I slash at the Genocider who is trying to get into the city with the lightning-clad blade of Dayle.

“O’ drifting air, become a vortex of great blades and slash my enemies. ‘Air Blade Tornado’.” (Noelia)

Noelia, who has come down from the wall, casts a magic on the Genocider who has faltered due to my attack.

The magic she casted shreds the body of the Genocider.

It becomes sluggish right away.

If we keep this up, we will be able to take it down before it enters the city!

I once again activate the Spell Sword and slash at the Genocider, who has become sluggish, with the mirage body.

However, Dayle’s blade digs into the body of the Abyss Walkers who cut in between us.

“Dammit! This guy sacrifice itself!” (Frick)

“Frick-san, watch out!” (Al)

The Abyss Walkers, who have given up rushing into the city due to the knights and Cinzia, change their target to me who is attacking the Genocider.

The tip of Al’s sword accurately pierces the eye of an Abyss Walker – which is the only weak point of the Abyss Walkers who have overwhelming fighting power – and the magic that clads it is then released, making the Abyss Walker emitting black smoke and tumbling down to the ground.

The Abyss Walkers, who now regards Al as a threat, lunge at her and unleash barrage of attacks to the point that she has no leeway to catch her breath,

Al dodges the blades of their light swords with beautiful movements like dancing, and when she sees an opening and swaps her medals, she pierces the eyes of another Abyss Walker, giving rise to a spurt of blood.

Watching her did that level of movements calmly, makes me think that I still have a long way to go as a swordsman.

Not good, this is not the time to be impressed.

Taking my eyes off from the swordsmanship that Al demonstrates, which is close the realm of God, I take advantage of the opening of the Abyss Walkers’ attacks and go to deliver the finishing blow to the Genocider whose movement has become slow.

Previously, when Al pierced that Genocider from under its chin, it didn’t blow up.

If I stab this one to the brain in an instant, I may be able defeat it without it exploding.

In the worst case, if it glows pale, I can just throw it into the sky and set up a Wind Barrier with all my might.

As long as the blast doesn’t affect the city, the damage should be minor, as the surrounding area is just plain anyway.

After hypothesizing the worst-case scenario and making my resolve, I have the mirage body restrain the Genocider, and jump into its bosom.

Right after, I thrust up from the under its chin.

The lightning-clad blade of Dayle pierces through the Genocider – who is unable to respond to my sudden attack – from under its chin to the top of its head.

The body of the Genocider then spasms violently due to the lightning released from Dayle’s blade.

The spasming Genocider swings its arms, struggling, but eventually its arms stop moving and hang down.

It doesn’t… explode, huh….

I did it, right?

After I slowly pulled out Dayle, the giant Genocider falls to the ground.

“Frick-sama! You’ve defeated——” (Noelia)

Behind Noelia, who is raising up her staff overhead in delight, the face of Vigo suddenly emerges.

The next moment, the cylinder that shot and killed King Frederick is pushed against Noelia’s temple.
