CH 60

The feeling of being watched only got a little better after she had closed the door of her room.

Ming Zhu felt that she had already run very far away now, even if Zhao Zhi wanted to find her, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack, it was too difficult.

That person, whenever other people took even one glance at her, he would secretly sulk for a long time, so it was absolutely impossible for him to post portraits of her to look for her.

Ming Zhu was comforting herself in this manner. She blew out the candle, crawled into bed, hugged the pillow and went back to sleep.

The capital was covered with dark clouds as thunderclaps boomed, it looked like it was going to rain heavily.

The room was dimly lit, there was only a glimmer of light coming through the window.

Wei Liu hurriedly returned to the capital to make his report. Half-kneeling in front of Zhao Zhi, he said, “Your Highness, the person has been found, she’s in Yuncheng.”

The man looked at the heavy downpour of rain outside the window, seemingly jeering, “She ran quite fast.”

In just two days, she already reached Yuncheng.

Wei Liu wasn’t sure what to do, if it was a man, he would have already dragged the person back to the capital, but no matter what, this was the crown prince’s sweetheart, if she was hit or touched, he was afraid the crown prince wouldn’t be happy.

Zhao Zhi closed the window, his sleeves had been wet by the rain, but he did not care as he was squeezing in his hand the red strand that he had braided in Fuyuan temple, “Lead the way, I’m going to capture the person personally.”

The sky was dark. Outside an heavy downpour of rain could be heard as raindrops were falling down on the windowsills.

Ming Zhu was awakened by a loud thunderclap and then she wasn’t able to sleep any more. She got up and poured herself a cup of tea. The bitter taste of the tea completely dispelled her sleepiness.

As the rain outside the window gradually weakened, the light of day became brighter and noises inside the inn also gradually increased.

The entrance door was kicked open and the bolts of the door flew far away immediately. The dozing young innkeeper was startled and jumped up.

Lifting his head, he saw a great number of guards with swords coming in one after the other inside the hall, wearing black clothes and boots, without any expression on their face, all of them appearing like cruel gods.

The man leading them was full of killing spirit, there was a small scar in the center of his forehead, his features looked harsh and sharp, one glance at him was enough to know he must have killed a lot of people on the battlefield.

The little legs of the young innkeeper were visibly trembling, “Guests, you’d like to stay in our inn?”

Wei Liu swept a cold glance at him, “Shut up.”

The young innkeeper then saw the man beside him. He was wearing ink-colored casual clothes and looked clean and elegant, his tall body was slender and graceful and his skin very white. He had an extremely cold face, his face looked as if he was someone without any weakness and his eyes also were chilly. He frowned slightly, pursing the corners of his mouth straight. Looking at him, he started to speak with indifference : “What floor?”

The young innkeeper felt so pressured by the aura around this man’s whole body that he didn’t dare to lift his head and subconsciously avoided his eyes, “Gongzi, what did you say?”

Wei Liu answered for him, “Your Highness, it’s on the third floor, the room on the right side of the stairs.”

Zhao Zhi hummed and unhurriedly climbed up the stairs.

Wei Liu and the others followed along and also went up the stairs. The inn was now surrounded outside and inside on all floors.

Upstairs, Ming Zhu had already heard the commotion. Her face was ghastly white, with shaking hands, she locked the door. Her body felt drained of most of its strength, thus back against the door, she slowly slid down and sat on the floor.

She never expected Zhao Zhi would find her so quickly with his men.

She even less expected him to personally come after her.

Ming Zhu’s mind was now in a mess, not knowing what to do.

In a hurry, she opened the window, originally intending to jump out the window. Fortunately she first looked down and saw that, downstairs, there were men of the Jingyiwei, carrying swords, everywhere.

Zhao Zhi was already standing outside the door. He knocked very politely on the door, his voice very calm and steady, “Zhu Zhu, open the door.”

Ming Zhu clenched her teeth, not daring to make a single sound that could reveal her presence.

Zhao Zhi sighed, “Do you want me to kick open the door?”

Ming Zhu’s body was tense like a bowstring, the corners of her eyes started flooding with water as she retreated backward step by step. Bumping on the chair, the person fell on the floor. Under the panic, she got up in a hurry and taking a look at the closet opposite the bed, she tried to hide inside the closet, refusing to see the reality.

The man outside the door, however, had run out of patience.

The door of the room which had been decrepit for a long time was easily pushed open with just a little force.

Ming Zhu was standing in front of him, bewildered, wearing a simple dress, her complexion was pale and she was trembling all over.

Zhao Zhi coldly told the men behind him to scram.

Ming Zhu seemed completely unable to move as she stood in place, frozen and stunned. Zhao Zhi grasped her wrist with force and dragged her in front of him, “Did you have enough fun ?”
