CH 21

C21 – Caught Off-guard

“And then there’s the routine — whispers of love, surprises, gifts, not expensive ones, but something special, something she’s never had or seen before.”

Liu Yuan rubbed his chin, “Now that I think about it, Rong Rong and Siyin are quite similar. Both are innocent, but they grew up in different families, hence their different personalities.”

Gu Siyin grew up and lived in the martial world, where people were usually quite straightforward and valued the connections and relationships, so she could be arrogant sometimes. Ning Xiangrong, on the other hand, lived in a secluded immortal cultivation sect and she was held in high regard, so she was cold and indifferent most of the time.

Also, the difference in their ages and cultivation, among other factors, should also be taken into account.

“In Ning Xiangrong’s memory, it seems that I left her without saying goodbye… Let’s hope she’s not here to seek revenge.”

But Liu Yuan could tell that Ning Xiangrong was definitely not here to seek revenge. Quite on the contrary, it was more like she came all the way to find the love of her life.

She seemed very determined when she announced that Liu Yuan would be her husband.

But…

Liu Yuan shook his head, “Whatever will be, will be. I will try my best to talk her out of the marriage, but if I fail…” He sighed, “With my current strength, there’s nothing else I can do except trying to stall.”

Without sufficient strength, one couldn’t achieve anything. Reality was cruel indeed.

“Phew…”

After a long walk, Liu Yuan finally reached his courtyard.

The moment he pushed the door open, he saw was a woman in white standing there quietly. She had already taken off her hat, revealing her breathtakingly beautiful face, and her black hair was hanging down her back. Her eyes were as blue as the deep waters under the ice, cold and yet sentimental.

It was almost afternoon. The girl was standing in the shade of the lush green trees, just like an angel.

Liu Yuan was stunned for a moment. He had been so absorbed in his thoughts just now that he had not yet taken a close look at Ning Xiangrong.

Now that the character was standing in front of him in person, and that he saw the girl’s face, he had to admit that she was gorgeous and very charming.

No wonder she was ranked third among all the beauties in the game.

The character card of Ning Xiangrong was not impressive and she did not have any outstanding performance in the game story, either. However, she was so beautiful that, even though she was a four-star character, she was as famous and popular as some six-star ones, if not more.

In the game, what happened in Pool Feather Mountain Manor did not affect Ning Xiangrong. After the spies from Devil Cult were dealt with, Ning Xiangrong became the leader of Water Moon Dock.

But Liu Yuan didn’t really remember much about this part of the story.

For a while, the two of them just looked at each other without saying a word.

Strangely, neither felt awkward; instead, they were like two old friends who had not seen each other for a long time.

The young man did not show much expression on his face, but his eyes were filled with complex emotions — guilt, nostalgia, as well as frustration.

The emotions in his eyes were so strong and intense that it wouldn’t surprise her if he burst into tears the next second.

He remained silent, trying hard to restrain his emotions, but his body was no longer under his control. She saw his hands trembling, his breathing turning heavy, his lips dry and his footsteps hesitant. He must be excited, and yet he did not come up to hug her.

Perhaps he left just now because he needed some time to calm himself down…

After all, it had been three years, and they had changed a lot, especially Liu Yuan, whose cultivation level had actually dropped to the Foundation Establishment Stage!

That was a big deal. Usually the decline in one’s cultivation level was caused by the injury to his sea of consciousness, which, under normal circumstances, was irreversible.

Empathizing with the young man, Ning Xiangrong felt her heart trembling as well.

What had happened to him during the past three years?

Thinking of what a carefree soul Liu Junxuan used to be, she almost shed some tears.

“Back then, you were the reason that I started to believe there was still hope out there and that I could go embrace the outside world. Finally, I broke free, and yet you lost your pride. Now it’s my turn to save you!”

Ning Xiangrong lovingly stared at the young man as she slowly walked towards him.

Of course, all the above was merely Ning Xiangrong’s own imagination.

In fact, Liu Yuan was simply too nervous to move or say a word. That was all.

It was worse than the first time he saw Gu Siyin. He literally had zero experience with women before, and it took him a long time to calm the girl down.

All the time he thought of Gu Siyin as a younger sister. After all, he wouldn’t have improper feelings for a 14-year-old girl.

… At least he should wait till she became an adult.

However, Ning Xiangrong was different — she was so charming appearance, and they had a history according to the story, so naturally he had feelings for her.

Especially when he was actually in the game now…

So he was dumbfounded when Ning Xiangrong walked up and hugged him.

The woman’s body was pressed tightly against his, and he could smell the fragrance from her body.

Liu Yuan was completely overwhelmed.

It was the very first time in his life that he had had intimate contact with a woman!!!

By this moment, Liu Yuan had completely forgotten about Gu Siyin, who had literally thrown herself into his arms…

… Twice.

‘She smells so good!’ That was the first thing that sprang to Liu Yuan’s mind.

The fragrance from the woman’s body instantly captured his heart.

And then — ‘She feels so soft!’

Thanks to Gu Siyin, he had already known how soft a girl’s hands could be, but this time the sensation was even stronger. Liu Yuan could feel her delicate arms, her ample chest as well as her soft breathing.

Liu Yuan didn’t dare to move at all, for fear that he would somehow offend the lady.

He carefully adjusted his breathing and relaxed his stiffened body a bit. Then he heard Ning Xiangrong whispering in his ear, “Liu Junxuan, come back with me to Water Moon Dock. I can be your Taoist partner, and I will do everything I can to restore your cultivation level. I know you have suffered a lot during the past few years, but trust me, I will make you forget all about it. We will live happily ever after… I am all yours.”

She turned to face Liu Yuan, her voice tender but passionate, “My soul and my body.”

‘Calm down, calm down… Damn it, I can’t!’

Liu Yuan was roaring in his heart. He was only a nineteen-year-old man!

Damn it!

How could he resist such a temptation!

He said bitterly, “But I can’t…”

Ning Xiangrong hugged him even tighter as she interrupted him, “I know, but you can count on me from now on!”

‘No! You don’t know!’

Wait, what did she know anyway?!

Liu Yuan put his hands on her waist, trying to break free from her hug, “No, listen to me…”

Right at this moment, a merry voice came from afar.

“Brother Junxuan…”

However, when Gu Siyin saw them, her smile froze, and she stopped where she was.

Liu Yuan was caught off-guard. He saw Gu Siyin’s face turning pale and her eyes empty.

This time, Liu Yuan was completely at a loss what to do.
