Chapter 43: Ex-Party’s Perspective(4)

“Listen up. At this point, we have to believe that we’ll only be finished once we defeat even disaster-level monsters, no matter what kind of monster they may be.”

Each party member had their own way of thinking about this point. Among them, Roig had the strongest sense of crisis. He knew what was going to happen next. That’s why, despite being in a situation of restraint, he desperately gathered information, and encouraged his companions, and finally found the seed of disaster in front of him.

Meiru honestly didn’t care either way. She just had some thoughts about Land, who had refused her invitation. Returning to the organization would still give her a place where she would be praised as a genius. However, their prowess was far below her own, which had been honed in combat.

So being able to repeat this experiment in her current environment was a little better for her than studying every day in the organization. That was all.

“Well, it can’t be helped…”

Fade had the next strongest sense of crisis after Roig. Somehow, or perhaps as usual, being left behind by Land had shaken Fade’s heart more than anything else.

“Wait, please! Are you saying that everyone has deliberately come to face this disaster-level monster…?”

Quella was troubled by her position. She was the highest priestess of the church, known as the Miraculous Saint. Her position made it difficult for her to accept the current situation, but on the other hand, she had a conscience, especially in regard to Land’s situation. In fact, she was the only one in the party who had a conscience.

But because of her constant position, she sometimes acted inconsistently. Lowering her own evaluation meant lowering the church’s evaluation. Of course, she didn’t think this was acceptable.

Therefore, Roig took advantage of this.

“Are you going to abandon your comrades and leave a name as the most cruel and lowest-ranked saint in history? Or are you going to choose to defeat the disaster-level, the largest dragon zombie in history, and become a hero who solidifies the position of the Miraculous Saint, both in name and in reality? The choice is yours.”

“That is…” What came to Quella’s mind were the faces of the sisters who had raised her in the church, as well as the young orphans who looked up to her. What they admired was her as a saint. And now, she was… unable to meet their expectations.

As Roig said, if she didn’t make up for it here, her identity would collapse. That sense of crisis had canceled out the last remaining bit of her conscience.
