CH 57

“Oh! You’re back!”

As soon as I arrived at the guild, the guild master, Gihren, greeted me with a smile.

“Why, if it isn’t Gihren again… and aren’t there more adventurers than usual?”

There were almost three times as many adventurers gathered at the guild than usual. Even high-ranking adventurers that I don’t usually see were present, and the atmosphere was tense enough to start a war.

“Since we are attracting this much attention, there must be only one reason.”

“Ah…”

I had completely forgotten about the day I spent in the village, but the guild probably received a message about the resurrection of the Dragon Zombie. That’s why they were gathering adventurers.

And judging by Gihren’s reaction, someone from that village had probably already been sent as an envoy without me knowing.

“Anyway, well done! As the representative of the guild, I thank you.”

As Gihren lowered his head, the guild staff who were waiting behind him also bowed, including Nina-san.

Of course, their grand gestures made me feel uneasy.

“No… That’s… It was no big deal…”

“Don’t be modest. Your achievements will undoubtedly go down in history. Be proud.”

Gihren said as he thumped my chest.

Due to his formal tone, I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.

Gihren then turned to Milm.

“Milim.”

“Yes? W-what is it?”

Milim was also confused by the sudden turn of events and kept glancing at me, but there was nothing I could do.

“I owe you a debt of gratitude for your first achievement as an adventurer. It was truly remarkable. If it weren’t for you, I don’t think anyone here would have made it back alive. Thank you.”

The guild staff once again bowed in unison.

“Well, um… that… hmph. It’s nothing, really.”

“Hahaha. That’s what makes you a hero.”

“A hero?! Y-yes! That’s right!”

Milim said, sounding a bit desperate.

I realized that we had finally reached a milestone, despite all the difficulties we faced.

However, Gihren’s speech was far from over.

Milim seemed to be nervous, but she could tell that everyone was kindly accepting her, and her cheeks relaxed in a smile.
