Chapter 63:Ex-Party’s Perspective(7)

Fade, who was bathed in Roig’s blood, finally regained his sanity, but it was too late. He had already committed the act and knelt down, stunned.

Meiru was the only one who had not given up yet.

She wanted to continue her prosperous life while protecting her position.

“I have an idea.”

Fade and Quella had no choice but to go along with her plan.

They listened carefully.

“Roig was originally hopeless.”

“That’s…” Quella searched for words to deny it, but she couldn’t find any.

In other words, Quella also knew that there was nothing they could do about Roig’s treatment.

“Rather, Roig probably had people who were obstructing him. Roig is the only one who will be held responsible from now on…”

At this point, Fade recognized their true value.

The S-rank party was an existence that the guild did not want to let go of. In fact, Fade’s prediction that they would be considered a nuisance and be collared for a while due to this incident was largely correct.

This was only possible if the premise was that Roig alone was responsible for the problem. If he were alive, he might have been able to avoid the party’s blame by taking the appropriate punishment.

And it was himself who had killed Roig, so Fade recognized this.

“Well… we’ll do it. No… we’ll say that we did it.”

“What do you mean…?”

Quella and Fade still couldn’t understand Meiru’s idea.

“What happens if Roig quits being an adventurer?”

They both thought about it. Roig probably couldn’t go back to the knighthood. He was a man who had done too many wrongs, and even the knighthood would not want to have anything to do with him.

If that was the case, Roig would not be able to find a proper job.

As someone who was good at using his arms and his wits, what other option did Roig have…?

“He’ll become a thief…?”

“Or an enemy of this country…?”

“That’s right… either way, an enemy of the knighthood.”

“That is…”

Indeed, Roig’s choices were all against the country and the knighthood.

“If Roig, who is a stain on the knighthood, adds more disgrace to it, I would kill him as soon as he quits being an adventurer.”

“No way…”

Although Fade spoke up, Meiru’s words made sense.

Roig was a stain on the knighthood, but his skills were real. That’s why Fade recognized that they were able to rise to an S-rank party because of him.

If Roig was to become successful in another country or become famous as a bandit, it would be a huge stain on the knighthood.

If it was for the sake of getting rid of that stain, they would do it before someone else did…

“However, it should have been quite difficult to kill Roig.”

“Well, yeah…”

Despite his questionable behavior, he was a man who had reached the peak of two things: being the Knight Commander and belonging to an S-rank party.

His strength, particularly his high defense, was among the best in the kingdom.

“So first, we’ll give a gift to the knight order.”

Fade felt a momentary fear at the matter-of-fact tone of Meiru’s words, but now was not the time for that.

“Even if there was a reason for it, what we did…”

“I know. But with this, we have an organization that can put pressure on the guild.”

Meiru’s words did not end there.
