CH 82

“Oh my, if it isn’t Baron Grimm. What could the issue be…?”

“Oh, Maron-dono. My goodness, to think that someone like Maron-dono would invite such an unknown adventurer to the shop. I had to lightly caution him about it. Well, I suppose this matter is now settled…”

Before Grimm could finish his sentence, Maron interrupted him, completely changing the atmosphere.

“Could it be… you didn’t mock these individuals, did you?”

“Huh…?”

Grimm looked bewildered once again.

“Rand-san and Milum-san are the ones who saved my life.”

Maron’s demeanor had changed, and his words sent a cold sweat down Grimm’s face. But Grimm wasn’t easily discouraged.

“No way! Even if that were the case, it’s not appropriate for them to be in a place like this…”

“Both of them are individually ranked A, and as a party, they are ranked S. They are undeniably skilled adventurers who single-handedly wiped out a horde of goblins led by a Goblin King on their way here and saved my life.”

“What…?”

For the first time, panic was visible on Grimm’s face. And his surprise began to spread to the others present in the shop.

“Did you hear that?! They defeated a Goblin King. It’s no mere feat.”

“If Maron-san says so, it must be true… But that means they really are strong.”

Milim seemed somewhat pleased.

‘Even though she had knowledge, her lack of interaction with the outside world made it clear from their short acquaintance that she quickly became full of herself when praised. Hopefully, she wouldn’t be deceived by anyone… but if someone were to try to deceive her, it would likely end with Milim beating them up…’

While thinking about such things, the conversation shifted to Grimm.

“Anyway, he won’t be able to act high and mighty anymore.”

“To face an S-rank party… that’s…”

The amount of cold sweat on Grimm’s face increased. However, in the next moment, he sneered and said.

“Even if they have the skills, I am an important customer to this shop. I have important business negotiations to attend to.”

“Oh… So, what are you trying to say?”

Grimm momentarily flinched under Maron’s cold and intimidating presence, but he continued without backing down.

“Compared to someone who just saved your life once, the person who will continue to be a good business partner for this shop, it’s obvious who is more important, isn’t it?”

“I see…”

Maron’s next words froze Grimm’s expression, as they were more than enough to do so.
