CH 90

“Well, you can think about it later. How about accepting the mansion?”

“A mansion…”

“It’s not exactly nearby… but if you use your means of transportation, it’ll be quick.”

Lord Cecilm took out a map and a key.

Tapping on the map, the location indicated was indeed not too far if you go by air, although you needed to pass through the forest.

“Originally, it was a land governed by a branch family, but now only the mansion remains in ruins. I thought it would be a waste to leave it unused.”

“I see…”

‘We have been operating without a base so far, but considering how quick it is to move with Earl, it might not be a bad idea.’

‘However, it was too big of a thing to receive as a favor. There might be some ulterior motive behind it.’

While I was lost in thought, Lord Cecilm spoke up.

“As expected of an S-rank party. You’re cautious.”

“It’s not like that, but well, I’m curious if there’s something…”

“Good. Let’s be honest then.”

“Is there something…?”

“Well, not something as extreme as a dragon’s graveyard, but undead do appear in that area. Zombies and skeletons, lower-level undead. Just a simple cleanup and exorcism. The reward is the mansion. How about it? I don’t think it’s a bad deal.”

“Hmm, I’ll leave it to you.”

Milim, placing her hand on her cheek, gave me a sidelong glance, leaving the judgment to me.

Well, it’s an easy request for a necromancer.

And receiving the mansion wouldn’t be something to be troubled about either.

“Understood.”

“Alright.”

Lord Cecilm kept the map and key he was spreading out back into a bag.

While doing this, he muttered as if he remembered something.

“Oh, that’s right. There’s a magical tool in the mansion. It will allow communication between my mansion and yours. Please make use of it.”

‘A communication magical tool… So it does exist.’

‘That’s how he was able to communicate with the gatekeeper.’

As I silently comprehended this, Milim smirked and said,

“I see… So that was the aim.”

“Huh?”

Milim continued, providing additional information.
