CH 92

“Oh…”

The vast grounds where we attempted to land Earl seemed to serve as a training facility as well. When we entered, the knights, who were not visible before, were lined up in rows. It was a magnificent sight, but when Lord Cecilm appeared, their posture straightened even further, creating an impeccably organized formation.”

“It’s amazing how well-trained their private army is,” Milim remarked in admiration. Isle entered the formation and saluted once again.

“Now, today we have brought with us the renowned adventurers Land-dono and Milim-dono, who are active as an S-rank party. We would like to see the results of your daily training,” Lord Cecilm urged, and I bowed my head in response.

“I occasionally ask adventurers who visit me to spar with my men. Starting with Isle-kun, the elite class has the ability to hold their own in one-on-one battles against A-rank adventurers,” he explained.

“So that’s why I felt like they were giving us hostile looks,” I said.

In essence, they were evaluating our abilities and worth. And if they can hold their own against A-rank opponents, it makes sense that simply introducing us as an S-rank party wouldn’t have much impact. It’s similar with Fade and the others; while individually they have the power of A-rank adventurers, together, they were an S-rank party.

“So, how much should we hold back?” I asked.

“Little by little…”

Milim’s obvious provocation stirred up the knights’ hostility.

“Haha. I would love to see your full strength, but I’ll ask you to keep it to the point where no one dies,” Lord Cecilm responded.

“Understood,” I said.

Milim gracefully moved to the center of the plaza. Lord Cecilm continued speaking, providing further explanation.

“Our knight order has been training all this time with the mindset that if something were to form from the dragon’s graveyard, it would be us to stop it,” he said.

“That makes the situation even worse…”

It seems that’s why there was such an atmosphere of hostility. Although Lord Cecilm showed interest, it also felt like a way for the knight order to release some tension… Perhaps Milim understood that and deliberately provoked them.

‘I would prefer to spend my time peacefully, but…’

“You’re coming too,” she said.

“As I expected…”

“And bring those kids as well,” she added.

Walking into the atmosphere Milim created was terrifying, but well, it’s too late now.

“Come.”

“Kyuoooon!”

“Gumooo!”

“Kyuuu!”

Rei, Ace, and Earl lined up in succession. It was the first time the members of the knight order were in a state of commotion.

“Oh… This is amazing,” Lord Cecilm also turned his gaze towards the familiars, impressed.

“First, I’ll have you face off in a one-on-one battle. Please line up in front of who you want to challenge,” Milim declared, causing a stir among the members of the knight order. At the same time, my heart began to race.

“So, I’ll be facing an opponent too…”
