Chapter 270 Ambulance

Jovani had originally thought about going to the hospital in his car, following behind the ambulances. Something told him though that there might be a better reason to ride in the ambulance instead.

"Gregory, I need you to take my car back for me. Roger, want you and Will to ride in that ambulance. I am going to take this." He ordered as he watched the EMTs continue working on the three patients.

Zane was certainly in the worst shape of the three. It probably would have been Clive if it wasn't for the fact that the mafia boss had been shot.

Leo didn't seem to be that bad. Jovani wasn't quite sure why the younger man wasn't waking up since he didn't seem to be banged up. That was something for the doctors to figure out though.

The medical staff shot him some odd looks after he declared he and some of his men would be riding with them. They didn't make any objections, however. Most likely due to the frown that was plastered on Jovani's face. He wasn't in the kind of mood to deal with anyone who wanted to argue against what he wanted to do.

He was stressed out, hot, covered in blood, and sore among other things from what had happened in the past few hours.

His plans for the day had taken an unexpected turn in the kind of way he hated and there was little he could do on his own to help correct it.

He had to update Alonso, Romeo, and likely Samuel as well.

His cousin had been a little too quiet for his liking which made him worry that the younger man was up to something that he wasn't going to approve of.

Romeo was likely capable of handling him since he dealt with Lena so well. It still didn't help his stress level at all to think about that. He didn't want his cousin to get wrapped up in anything until they were safely at the hospital where they could safely talk about everything that was going on.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay riding with us? It is going to be a little cramped." One of the older staff was the one who came over and ask Jovani the question.

The irate look on his face must have said a lot to the other before he opened his mouth to reply as he took a step back when Jovani turned to look at him.

"I am aware of that and don't care. I still intend to ride with you regardless of that." He replied coldly.

"If there is some reason why you think that I or my men shouldn't, I believe now would be the time to speak." He ordered the man in the white outfit who took another step back.

"No sir. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of how crowded it would be in case you wished to change plans." Jovani just tsked at the other.

"I don't care about lack of space. I just want to ensure that everyone makes it safely to the hospital and that there is no other issues that I need to worry about on the way." He replied.

"Now stop wasting time. We need to get going now." he ordered. He knew that it took a while to get everyone situated but with how serious the situation was, it felt like it was taking far too long for Jovani's liking.

Everyone had been given initial IVs and medicine where needed. It hardly helped him to feel any better though. Something was still wrong and missing, he just couldn't put his finger on what it was yet.

He hoped that maybe getting in touch with Alonso on the ride would help him figure out what the missing piece was.

He had thought the bodies of the two deceased men would give him some kind of clue as well. He didn't recognize either one of them though he knew the tattoo that they wore on their wrist.

Different from the one that they had seen on Ashton but along the same lines as what he wore. Perhaps a mock one that was supposed to throw them off as to why there.

That was something though that they would have to look into at a later point in time. Right now, he just needed to make sure that everyone in front of him was okay.

Once they had gotten everything together in the ambulance and three patients packed up, they let Jovani and his men get inside.

Though it wasn't normal protocol, they even let them keep their phones on so that they could stay in contact on the ride to the hospital. It wasn't like any of them would have listened if they were told it was disallowed anyways. This wasn't the typical kind of emergency that they were used to dealing with.

They had hardly taken off before Alonso was calling Jovani just as he was texting Romeo to let him know that they were on the way to the hospital, he even gave the other directions.

"What is it?" He made sure to lower the volume so as to not bother the others too much and also to decrease the chance that they would hear what was being said. He didn't need too much information about what was going on getting out until he had the full picture.

"Are you already on the way to the hospital?" Alonso asked, his tone sounded a little strained and different compared to before.

"Yes." Jovani replied simply, glancing behind him at Zane to make sure that everything looked okay still.

"Well, I think we may have made a little miscalculation about the way things are going. You might need to make a u-turn." the other explained causing Jovani to furrow his brows. He didn't quite understand what his man was saying.

"I don't think that there is anywhere here to do that." He replied. The road only went one way, what was Alonso talking about.

"Remember, you always told me that there is a way to take a u-turn even the road only goes one way. You just gotta make it yourself when the situation calls for it." Jovani sighed as he listened to his friend. He kind of understood what the other was saying, but it wasn't the kind of thing that he wanted to hear right now.

"Really, aren't you going to be here soon enough to do something about this? Do you know what kind of state I am in right now?"

The moment he finished speaking though, he realized exactly what he had said wrong to the other before Alonso even replied to him.
