Chapter 302 Unavoidable Call

Jovani wanted to stay back and watch what Lena would. It wasn't often one got the chance to see the Red Scorpion Princess in action. Everyone knew the tales of the kind of person father used to be. Lena didn't have many rumors surrounding her in that regard. Not yet at least.

However, before the fun even started, Jovani ended up having to leave the room once his phone started ringing. Bad timing for a call he couldn't ignore to come through.

"You couldn't have waited until a later point in time to call? I was just getting ready to watch something fun." The Vedova Nera bossed leaned against the door, wincing as his arm protested the weight on it.

"Now, Now. That isn't my problem, is it? You're the one who went about messing everything up. I asked you for one thing." He made a nose to hush the person on the end of the phone when they raised their voice.

"Don't start shouting at me. We had a deal. You didn't end up following through on your end, that means my end is negated as well. What were you even thinking in the first place? It's like you didn't even realize who you were with." Lowering the volume on the phone, Jovani moved away from the door to check down the hall. Not like there was anyone who would be wandering around. One couldn't be too careful though.

"No. Don't go yelling at me about that. You just need to be more careful next time. I won't be doing this again for you in the future. I've already graced you with more than one chance to fix things." Jovani rolled his eyes as the other continued their tirade. Half the words coming out of their mouth weren't even intelligible.

"You should just be focusing on getting yourself cleaned up. You are going to owe me for that car as well. It was a relatively new one I'll have you know. One I wouldn't have picked for use if I knew what you were going to do." Jovani ended up turning back around when he heard the door behind him open. Before the man could speak, the mafioso indicated that he'd be finished soon and for the other to go back. Jovani wanted the call to be over with just as much as the next person. At this rate, by the time it actually ended, he'd have missed all the fun. Scuffing his feet against the floor, Jovani waited for the other to finish speaking.

"The answer I am giving you isn't going to change. Nothing about this is going to change. No one else is on the table. You messed up. Blew that last chance you had. In fact, I don't want you to go about calling me again. Next communication that goes on between us will be initiated by me." Jovani cut the call before another explosion could occur. People could be so much trouble when they wanted to.

Sighing deeply, Jovani chose to shut the phone off to avoid further disturbances before returning it to his pocket.

"What did you need from me?" Jovani asked while entering the room. The three men in the room turned to him at the same time.

"Apologizes Don Jovani. I wouldn't have bothered you over anything if it wasn't important. I think you might need to consider getting involved." The Vedova Nera boss didn't understand what his subordinate meant until they shifted so that he could get a look at the monitors.

"Oh my." Jovani mumbled placing two fingers against his mouth. Partly out of shock, partly to suppress the smirk that wanted to emerge. The princess seemed to be even worse than even he could have anticipated.

"Well, it would seem that someone very much so takes after their father." He moved closer to the monitors, placing his hands on the desk in order to lean forward and get an even closer look. The man didn't seem to be dead at least not yet. Based on the blood that could be seen pooled on the floor and what was still dripping, it didn't seem like the man had much time left.

"I am taking it that everyone here agrees of the fact that I should perhaps intervene? None of you here think you should go about doing it?" The shuffling of feet and adverted gazes were answering enough for the boss. With a clicking of his tongue, Jovani finally let the smirk appear on his face.

"Since none of you here seem interested in going and dealing with the princess. I as your boss will go about taking care of it." Despite having an injured arm, Jovani decided to take off his own jacket. No need for one more thing covered in blood. His fiancé might actually kill him if he ended up ruining her expensive gift to him.

Jovani patted as he set it on the chair, tasking his men with making sure nothing happened to it. Not like it would suddenly sprout legs and run away. He just wanted to give them something to do. Though he doubted he'd actually be able to stop the princess, it would be better to survey the damage up close.

The three men watched in awe and deep admiration as their boss left the room to deal with Red Scorpion Princess without a second of hesitation. Unlike the rest of them, their Don must've somehow been immune to the woman's terrifying aura.

They would need to work in trying harder in the future. After all, their job was to ensure the safety of their Don not hide behind him in such situations. Alonso would have to be called in to help address this issue. The right-hand man who was always following their boss around would have to have answers that would help. They couldn't think of anyone better to learn from. Plus, he'd also been around the princess. He too like their Don must've learned how to deal with her.
