Chapter 37 Reunion

Ren Jia's glossy eyes immediately beamed with glistening light before being replaced with tearful eyes, she hopped off the chair and dashed toward Jing Xue with both of her arms extended.

"Mama!"

Jing Xue, whose face was shrouded in indifference and peace, immediately trembled and turned to glance toward the little girl who was running toward her.

Ren Jia stood next to her and gave her a teary smile, she raised her tiny arm and tug on her long skirt. She glanced upwards and her eyes gleamed with shiny pebbles.

"Mama, you are finally here after so long."

After being called repeatedly, Jing Xue's eyelashes fluttered before she turned her head to glance at the child. The child's gentle yet sweet gaze instinctively melted into her heart, Jing Xue pursed her lips tightly.

"Little girl, who are you calling Mama? What if I am a kidnapper who likes to kidnap cute little children? Wouldn't your Mama be saddened?"

Jing Xue, with a serious face, blurted out suddenly. The words she speaks and how she acts was completely different. She was much more playful with a child than an adult, Ma Meifan found her personality a bit contrasting at times.

"You are my Mama. I know it because my Papa and Mama will never hurt me."

Jing Xue's face twitched and she crouched down gracefully, she gave the little girl a sweet smile and patted her hair.

"Smart! I, Jing Xue, would never hurt a child but I am not your mother though."

Ren Jia didn't seem disappointed as though she had expected this answer. She immediately placed her hand into a tiny red pouch she always kept with her and took out a necklace from the pouch.

She raised her palm and her glossy eyes seemed to express joy and anticipation, "Mama, do you see this necklace?"

In her small white palm was a silver necklace. If one were to give it a glance, one would undoubtedly believe it was an ordinary accessory that could be found at any store. It had a red string cord and a silver pendant.

Jing Xue's features became twisted as she took in the sight of it before twisting her head to glance at Ma Meifan who was obviously confused by this strange interaction between a star and a child.

Jing Xue wasn't much better as she hasn't encountered a child as eccentric as this kid but the necklace she saw did seem to resemble something.

Why does it look like the necklace I wore in my dreams? Not only is it similar, it is also identical.

Jing Xue frowned and bit her lower lip, she exhaled and attempted to dismiss it in an amused tone, "Child, what kind of necklace is this? Is this a gift for me?"

Jing Xue's pupils dilated as she turned to look at Ma Meifan with an awkward expression, "Meifan, whose child is this?"

As though she went through her memory lane, she had an astonished expression as she asked the little girl in a frantic voice, "Is your father's name Ren Ye?"

Ren Jia nodded her head repeatedly.

"My Papa's name is Ren Ye and my name is Ren Jia."

Jing Xue stood up all of a sudden and took a step back with a pale face, Ma Meifan noticed this and approached her.

"Sister Jing, are you alright? You don't look well."

Ma Meifan grabbed her shoulder and asked in a worried tone, Jing Xue didn't respond as she turned to glance at her with a dead white face.

"Where is he? I want to see him."

I was desperate to find you these couple of weeks, knowing that I was unable to remember you clearly and could only see you in my dreams, with little glimpses of your figure.

Jing Xue's eyes became increasingly crimson as she bit her lips and thought, wanting to burst out in tears and express her grievances in her heart.

The Doctor exited the door after having had a conversation with the nurses, he raised his glasses slightly as he gave them a soft smile and a nod.

"The patient is asking for someone named "Jia'er". He has woken up for quite some time now and called out this name."

"If you are that person, please enter this room."

Ren Jia raised her hand and spoke loudly in a childish tone, "Papa is looking for me."

The Doctor let out a satisfied chortle as he smiled at Ren Jia, "Your Papa is looking for you. You can bring another person inside as well."

"Oh, aren't you the actress who won Best Actress last year?"

The Doctor immediately noticed the pale-faced Jing Xue who was trembling with teary eyes, he had seen many celebrities before so he wasn't as excited to find one here.

He rubbed his chin and spoke out his honest thoughts.

"Did you get into some accident or have been sick? You look like you might need some prescriptions?"

"No, Doctor. I am alright."

Jing Xue coughed awkwardly and recovered her composure, retaining her calm and cool temperament. She bit her lower lip and spoke with a low voice.

"Doctor, can I go and see him?"

"Of course."

Ma Meifan was a bit stunned by Jing Xue's strange reaction but she chose not to speak of it, she decided to wait outside and discuss with the Doctor about the hospital bill.

Ren Jia raised her hand and took Jing Xue's palm, holding it softly and smiling comfortingly at her.

"Mama, Papa is waiting for you."

In the hospital room,

Ren Ye was sitting stiffly on the bed without any expression on his face, his eyes were lowered. He was thinking of what to do in the next few days and how to talk to Uncle Jie about his accident.

Aye! Ma Meifan must pay for the losses I suffer, I am already edging into poverty if I have to pay for myself. It wasn't my intention to get in trouble for helping her.

A rich girl like her should definitely know how to repay good deeds or I would have to sue her for damages.

"This is different, Ye Zhihao is from The Vile Universe. He knows how to hide and scheme, something those evil demon spawns share in that universe."

Ren Ye didn't speak for a long time and lowered his head.

"Someone is here," Old Yi chuckled knowingly.

The door immediately opened as Ren Ye turned to glance at who was entering the room.

It wasn't just one person who he was expecting to see but another additional person that didn't appear to be Ma Meifan.

It was of another woman, who was rather elegant and haughty in appearance.

Her refined features became guarded as she laid her intrigued gaze on him, Ren Ye felt something was stuck in his throat as he couldn't mutter a word.

Jing Xue held Ren Jia in her arms, guarding her as a mother cat would to their kitten. She raised her head with indifference and tranquility, she pursed her lips and spoke out in a low soothing tone.

"Ren Ye."

Ren Ye's mouth opened agape with disbelief, his lips shook, and mumbled, "Jing Xue?"

He immediately hopped off the hospital bed as he wasn't injured in the slightest and gradually approached her.

Upon seeing him in a sorry state and leaving his hospital bed, her face became frightened, and reprimanded him.

"Stay on the bed. You are injured."

Ren Ye didn't listen as he dashed forward and enveloped them into his arms, his expression became soft. Jing Xue who was embraced too suddenly by a man in a half-naked state, blushed subconsciously.

She raised her other arm and placed her hand on his back comfortingly, she closed her eyes tightly and bit her lips.

"I miss you."

Jing Xue didn't respond and hugged him even tighter, she shed a drop of tear as her eyes were crimson from emotions. She nuzzled her nose against his shoulder and breathed deeply.

Ren Jia was extremely happy seeing both of her parents reunited although she felt a bit suffocated by their embrace.

"Mama… could you let me down first?"

They immediately broke apart and Jing Xue blushed with embarrassment and shame, she let Ren Jia down.

"Ren Jia, I am your mother."

Jing Xue spoke each word slowly and clearly as drops of tears fell down onto her face, Ren Jia nodded her head and gripped her Mama's hand tightly.

"I was pregnant with you in the past in the life that I didn't get to spend with you."

"We are finally reunited as a family."

She turned to glance at Ren Ye who was staring at her with a complicated frown, she raised her hand and placed it on his cheek.

Ren Ye's hands didn't move and remained in place.

She? Does this mean Ren Jia was the child she was pregnant with in the past life? In the past life, I am a bit ashamed to say that I didn't know who was the true father as it didn't matter to me. If she really is then all three of us reincarnated together.

She caressed his cheek tenderly and continued to hold his gaze with tenderness and affection, "I finally found you."
