Chapter 47 Vow

"There is something else I need you to know," Jing Xue got off the car and led Ren Ye to her home for the night, she turned her head slightly as she spoke softly.

Ren Ye nodded his head, gesturing for her to continue speaking.

"Why were you with that woman?"

"…"

Ren Ye was unable to explain words as his features twitched intensely before he pursed his lips, "Uh."

"I feel like you know what I was doing."

"Mm? I know but I'd rather hear it from you. I'm afraid I would misunderstand if you don't explain yourself," Jing Xue chuckled bitterly as she side-eyed him slightly.

"I was in someone's disguise, you know I had to do what I had to do," Ren Ye replied calmly, he didn't care whether she would get mad at him or not.

"The real question is how did you find out where I was?"

Jing Xue didn't reply instantly and stopped herself for a couple of minutes before speaking in a low and soft tone, "You are extremely bad at hiding yourself from me."

Jing Xue curled her lips into a cocky smirk, "Not only that, you didn't pick up my call."

Ren Ye felt a headache looming as he stared at her with unconcealed shock, "You?"

"I could only guess you went out with Sun De, with the intention to kill him."

Ren Ye's eyes dilated lightly before he turned to glance at her with a calm smile, "You saw what I did?"

"Naturally, I helped you as well."

"Mm?"

"You would likely evoke suspicion if you got him missing, I had to help you out."

Jing Xue replied mysteriously and before Ren Ye could reply, Jing Xue turned to leave. Ren Ye was led by her to her current residence, the residence she was currently residing in.

Currently, she wasn't filming any shows. She chose to take a break and came to spend time here for a couple of months before she goes back to work.

"Ren Jia went to sleep, I couldn't wait any longer and came to pick you up."

"…"

"You didn't leave me any choice, did you?"

Ren Ye replied with a stiff expression, Jing Xue snorted dismissively.

"No."

"…"

Ren Ye entered the gates of her InFan Residential, which was one of the most luxurious neighborhood in all of the country. It was mostly inhabited by politicians and public figures such as her.

For Ren Ye to enter this zone as an ordinary citizen was something unexpected as the guards couldn't help but shoot him a strange look, thinking he must be one of the housecleaners.

"…"

In front of her villa was a spacious garden, a home to small and domestic plants that were grown personally by Jing Xue, who was bored and had nothing to do.

As soon as he entered the villa, Jing Xue shot him a charming smile secretly before leaving him behind. A man in a black suit and tie approached him and grabbed him by the shoulder.

Ren Ye was wary of unwanted approaches as he glared at Butler Zhao with an annoyed look, Butler Zhao shrugged and smiled helplessly.

"Leave him be," Jing Xue voiced out gently.

Butler Zhao nodded his head and left Ren Ye by himself, Ren Ye couldn't help but observe his surrounding. He was currently trying to find an escape plan in case Jing Xue tried to lock him inside.

Jing Xue curled her lips amusingly as she pointed at the room at the corner of the villa, "Ren Jia is there, she is currently resting so you shouldn't disturb her."

Ren Ye nodded his head and felt his vein throb, "Thank you for letting me know."

"Since you don't have a place to rest at this moment and your apartment's door hasn't been fixed, you should stay here for the night," Jing Xue smiled innocently and gestured to him to come and have midnight tea with her.

Ren Ye's head suddenly ached, "This woman is crazy!"

Butler Zhao bought in the treats and tea, the room was extremely dim and was only lit up by the ray of lights from the moon. The moon shone brightly onto her flawless face.

Ren Ye saw her increasingly calm and reserved eyes, she was contemplating about something.

Suddenly, Jing Xue raised her head and looked into his eyes with luminous and vulnerable light in those pupils. Ren Ye's figure reflected softly in her eyes.

"Ren Ye…"

She unintentionally choked as she spoke, Ren Ye felt his heart throb intensely from seeing her sad and vulnerable expression. He wanted to approach her and embrace her.

But for some unknown reason, he felt there was a wall in front of them and he was unable to break through them. All he could do was watch helplessly and comfort her, unable to ease her pain.

Jing Xue's crystal tears slid down from the corner of her eyes.

Before long a string of tears continues to slide down her face, causing Ren Ye to internally panic.

Ren Ye stood up from the white couch and was about to approach her before Jing Xue lifted her hand dismissively and rubbed the tears off her eyes, she sniffed emotionally.

"Why have you not looked for me?"

This was the only she could express her dissatisfaction with his behavior toward her, she felt he was extremely cold-hearted and ruthless to her.

Ren Ye's throat throbbed as he lowered his head, "I didn't think you would be in this world with me."

Jing Xue nodded her head and replied with a hoarse voice, "But was Ren Jia not enough evidence to you?"

Staring at those tear-filled eyes, Ren Ye felt extremely guilty.

"I didn't think she was yours."

Jing Xue suddenly chuckled while holding back her tears, she tilted her head upwards and tried to maintain her composure.

"You never asked me before and I never told you."

"Mm."

"You have never thought of me before this, right?"

"No, I thought of you before."

It was the truth Ren Ye had thought multiple times of her before and even in his last moment, all he could see was her figure and her face.

"But not when you see Ren Jia, did she show the necklace?"

"What necklace?" Ren Ye was confused as he recalled Ren Jia never showed him anything other than her drawings.

As she had expected, Jing Xue sniffled slightly as she took out a necklace and placed it on the table lightly. She raised her eyes and laid them on Ren Ye's face.

Ren Ye's face immediately shook, "Why didn't she show me this before?"

It was the vow he had made to Jing Xue in the past and he cut his wrist, extracted the blood from it, and embedded it into the pendant of the necklace.

It was an eternal vow he had promised to her in the past.

"You promised to tell me and to be with me forever but each time, you made me disappointed in you over and over again. I know it was not your fault for not looking for me before but you should at least have thought of me before making that decision."

Tears slid down quickly as she said each word at a hasty pace, she choked on her words and continued to vent her grievances.

She was referring to the past, the day he had chosen to end himself before everyone.

"Xue Er…"

Ren Ye was unable to express himself in words as guilt overwhelmed him, he raised his head and stared at her eyes with unconcealed gloom and guilt.

"Did you know? I waited for you in that tiny cottage you built for the both of us."

"I waited for more than five hours when I couldn't find you there before your best friend came in and told me about your capture."

"I am not stupid because I knew what you did and what feelings you harbor toward The King but I was waiting for you to tell me."

Jing Xue sobbed uncontrollably, causing Ren Ye's eyes to redden from sadness.

"Had you told me, I wouldn't hesitate to ruin myself to kill him for you."

Ren Ye was unable to take it anymore as he stood up from his seat and rushed toward her, he enveloped her into an embrace and he bit his lower lip tightly.

"You…"

Jing Xue rubbed her tears onto his shoulders as she continued to sob and complain to her about his hurtful actions toward her, "You never thought of me, not even once."

"I'm sorry."

All he could say was sorry but Jing Xue was unwilling to take any pity, she only wanted to vent out her frustration with him as she opened her mouth and bit his neck.

"You thought of me as a tool to get what you want before and now, you still do."

She stopped biting his neck, leaving behind a red spot on his neck. She raised her eyes and smiled sadly at him, "In this life, I'm willing to ruin myself for you again and I never regret what I did but I hope you think of me every second."

Ren Ye shook his head and rubbed his sore eyes as he laughed out loud, "I have realized how much of a scumbag I was to you."

"For you to love me so relentlessly, I must have been blessed by heaven. I vow to owe up to my mistakes to you in this life, I will tell you about everything again."

Ren Ye took the necklace and gripped it tightly against his chest, smiling calmly toward her.
