Chapter 67 An Informal Date

Jing Xue casually conversed with her fans as though they were her friends, she smiled gracefully and nodded her head as she listened to them.

"Sister, you are so pretty! I didn't think seeing you in real life is better than seeing you in pictures."

"Plus, your voice is so soft!"

Jing Xue curled her lips awkwardly as she replied frankly, "That is because most pictures you see are edited…"

Jing Xue impatiently waited for Ren Ye in her heart, cussing him out in her head. She was supposed to go inside the store but was stopped by her fans who had extremely keen eyes.

She pulled her mask down and took a picture with the group of teenagers as she made a peace sign and smiled gracefully. Their eyes lit up as they watched Jing Xue who was extremely friendly with them.

"Sister, you are so kind!"

They finally let her go after more than ten minutes, Jing Xue sighed in relief and looked around for Ren Ye who was nowhere to be seen.

As she was about to call her, a beep sound from behind was heard.

Jing Xue casually turned her head behind and saw her Mercedes-Benz gracefully in front of her, the driver was wearing sunglasses as he honked at her.

"…"

Jing Xue didn't know how to react as she casually hopped into the passenger's seat, pretending as though she was a passenger.

She frowned at Ren Ye as he had a smile on his face.

"What are you happy about?"

"Oh, nothing."

"…"

Ren Ye lowered his eyes and watched the group of teenagers from the side of his eyes as he noticed they saw him. He snorted lightly and raised his head professionally.

"Was that her bodyguard? Why does he look so young?" One of them exclaimed with surprise.

"I think so but she sat in the passenger's seat so we can be sure we didn't accidentally ruin her date," One of them laughed nervously.

"I remember she is dating someone from the Huang Family…"

Ren Ye drove away quietly as he looked at Jing Xue meaningfully, he opened his mouth and closed it after having to think about what to say without having her offended by his words.

"I got you a box of ice cream."

Ren Ye spoke quietly as Ren Jia lifted her head from the white blanket and smiled at her Mama, she raised the box of ice cream playfully.

"Here Mama."

Jing Xue was slightly surprised and pursed her lips with a strange look at Ren Ye, "You thought of me?"

"…"

What does that suppose to mean?

Ren Ye was confused as his eyebrows twitched.

"Not a matter of thought, I was being considerate," Ren Ye replied calmly, Ren Jia's eyes widened as she looked at her Papa strangely.

She whispered so that only her Papa could hear but Jing Xue heard them anyway, "Papa shouldn't say that because it sounds like you don't like Mama and only buy her ice cream because she is here."

Ren Ye was rendered speechless as he observed Jing Xue's reaction, only to see an extremely cold look on her face, his back trembled slightly, and nodded his head awkwardly.

"Alright."

Jing Xue snorted disapprovingly and held the box of ice cream, wanting to see what flavor he chose for her considering he was pretty dense in knowing people.

She slowly opened the box with a frown and raised the box, sniffing it with an extremely serious expression. Ren Ye felt his words get stuck in his throat.

"Why do you have to sniff it? Do you think I am trying to poison you?" Ren Ye asked with a funny expression.

Jing Xue nodded her head with clear eyes, "You would."

"Let's not forget that one time you put a sleeping pill in my stew."

"…"

Ren Ye felt a sense of guilt as he looked away from her and focused on driving.

"Drive to Mic Michelin," Jing Xue said in a solemn voice, sounding almost as if it was an order, "I booked a place for us."

Ren Ye's eyes dimmed as he nodded his head and obeyed her 'order'. He sighed gloomily inside his head and complained to Old Yi funnily.

"Am I becoming submissive? Why does it feel like I am becoming a personal driver?"

Old Yi understood his feeling as he told Ren Ye in a serious tone, "Serve her well and you will get to eat soft rice every day."

"…"

Jing Xue took a bite of the ice cream and she immediately tasted a nutty taste inside her mouth, her frown suddenly relaxed as a surprised expression made its way onto her face.

"Mama, what do you think of it?" Ren Jia waited for her Mama's reaction as her eyes squinted from smiling too much.

Jing Xue repeatedly swayed her head and took multiple bites of the ice cream, she looked at Ren Jia and asked her with a gentle expression, "Did you order this?"

Ren Jia shook her head with an innocent look as she raised her tiny finger and pointed it toward Ren Ye, who appeared oblivious to her reaction.

"Papa bought it!"

Jing Xue snorted with approval, much to Ren Ye's happiness.

As always, he knows how to calm my anger down. If he has forgotten what I like to eat, I would order him to go inside again and get me a new one. Humph!

"I like it."

Ren Ye sighed in relief as he glanced at the warm expression on Jing Xue's face, feeling as though as he had escaped death. Jing Xue side-eyed him meaningfully as she diverted her eyes away from him as soon as their gazes meet.

Ren Ye finally arrived at Mic Michelin, relying on his memories. Jing Xue's eyes darted onto his face as she couldn't help but ask him out of curiosity.

"You appear to know your place around the city and have knowledge of every place in the city. On your resume, you wrote that you were from Jindao."

"…"

"Oh, I forgot. You worked as a taxi driver."

"…"

"For only a day too and still managed to crash the car."

"…"

Ren Ye's mouth twitched as he glanced at Jing Xue with a stunned expression, "How did you find out where I am from?"

I don't recall telling her where I am from before…

"Humph! You don't need to know how I know," Jing Xue looked away.

"Papa, hug," Ren Jia raised her arms as she looked at Ren Ye with an anticipating expression, Ren Ye bent down and pulled her off the ground.

She rubbed her chubby cheeks against his as she smiled widely, "Papa, kisses."

Ren Ye turned his head toward her with an indescribable expression, he didn't appear moved as he casually swept his gaze across his daughter's cheeks.

He hesitated.

"I don't know if I can refuse her. Do I tell her that her Papa doesn't know how to show affection publicly?" Ren Ye expressed his thoughts inwardly.

Although he showed her affection before, he wasn't completely comfortable doing so in front of strangers.

This was also caused by his sad and lonely upbringing where he never got any affection from anyone.

Jing Xue also gazed at Ren Ye with a rather complex look, she bit her lower lip quietly.

You never showed any affection toward me before physically in public. Ren Jia is hopelessly and aimlessly waiting for her cold Papa to show his warm side for once.

Jing Xue couldn't help but feel sad for Ren Ye, knowing him too well.

Ren Ye pursed his lips and pressed them against her forehead, rubbing her head gently.

Ren Jia raised her head and pecked him on the cheek multiple times, feeling happy for her Papa.

Jing Xue raised the corner of her lips with relief as she could feel that Ren Ye was slowly changing for them.

They were led by a group of bodyguards, dressed in professional serving suits. Ren Ye felt slightly uncomfortable as he had never been to an expensive restaurant ever since his family fell from grace.

Due to the constant bullying and pressure in the past, Ren Ye felt he was being watched constantly when entering a slightly overpriced place.

Ren Ye's eyes slightly dilated as he felt a hand slowly make its way into his stiff hand, feeling the softness and smoothness of the hand.

Ren Ye looked toward Jing Xue, who was smiling at him assuredly.

"Don't worry, we are safe here."

"I will protect you."

She whispered warmly, calming the raging anxiety inside his heart.

Ren Ye's tense body relaxed as he gripped her hand tightly, humbly asking her for her comfort through this secret interaction between them.

Jing Xue's eyes curled up as she returned the grip with as much strength as his.

They were seated in a private room, which displays a paranormal view of the nightlife of the city.

Noting that this was one of the top restaurants in the city, specializing in Western cuisine. Jing Xue specifically wanted to show them here because it is her favorite restaurant in the city.

It could be considered an informal date for Ren Ye and her.

Ren Jia raised her arms excitedly as she pointed toward the skylines in front of her, "Papa, look! The skyscrapers!"

Ren Ye nodded his head and patted her head gently.

She casually sat down in front of Ren Ye, looking out the window. She casually took out a camera from her bag and adjusted it.

Jing Xue took a picture of the father and daughter looking out the windows.
