CH 22

[After three minutes of flipping through the Book of Enma, I finished checking all the pages.]

[As I said, most of them were blank pages, and I could only find two new pieces of information worth mentioning.]

Tenji goes through the pages again to confirm his findings.

"So, it's these weapons."

Hell Weapons: Red Demon series

[Red Demon sword] (5th grade)

Summonable Hell Equipment: Red Demon series

[Red Demon ring] (5th grade)

It was the items that were used when he was running away from the Goblins in the Hell Realm. But it was shown a little different this time.

He recalled that the power of the Red Demon Sword was so extraordinary that he still remembers it from the tactile sensation in his hand. The fifth grade weapon is usually not so sharp that it can easily cut through such a huge tree branch.

But this red Demon sword was labeled as a fifth grade.

"What's with the Goblins, the red demon swords, and the ...... hell grade labels?" Tenji muttered to himself.

There are quite a few concepts of "grade" in things related to dungeons.

There are roughly four typical grade categories: dungeon grade, monster grade, explorer grade, and item (product) grade.

They are known to be roughly linked, for example, a 2nd grade explorer can enter 2nd grade dungeons, receives a 2nd grade or higher explorer license, and is encouraged to have 2nd grade or higher items appropriate to their abilities.

[I had a feeling that the grades related to hell were not worthy of this grading system.]

"Well, let's do the analysis later. First, let's try to figure out how to summon this thing."

Tenji stares at the page.

Then he saw that the red demon sword's characters had changed color from black to silver.

"I see! Wanting and thinking is the condition for it to turn silver."

Tenji was right, as soon as he thought in his mind that he wanted to summon the Red Demon Sword, the letters glowed silver.

Seeing this, he decided to try one experiment. He closed the book and placed it on the ground a short distance away. Then, from that remote position, he tried to think, "I want to summon the Red Demon Sword."

"Wow, It is really happening."

Just as Tenji had imagined, the book began to move by itself and stopped at the page of the weapon. And immediately the text glowed silver.

"This is a truly amazing book. The ability to summon weapons at any time, it's like that famous Heroic explorer."

There was a famous explorer in the world who had all kinds of powerful weapons and made them appear out of thin air and he slaughtered many powerful monsters.

The explorer had already passed away, but he was written up in textbooks as a man who had done so much that Tenji and the other children of the new second generation would be told about him. The childrens were heavily inspired by him. There are many videos of him, and Tenji was one of the children who loved watching them.

Tenji was a little excited to have gained abilities similar to that Heroic explorer.

The next time he tried to figure out how to put it back in the book, it was easier than the summon.

After that, he repeated the process of making the Red Demon ring appear and putting it back as well.

"So the Red Demon Ring can be summoned in the same way. So what kind of ability does this thing have?"

Tenji fitted the red demon ring to his right index finger and decided to check his status column at the beginning of the book.

There, as Tenji had expected, the capabilities of the ring were clearly displayed.

The attack value had changed to 71.

The difference was huge, and just by wearing the red demon ring.

"If I wear the Red Demon Ring, my attack power will increase. This is a great thing, isn't it? Because the increase is greater than my original attack power."

That was great, but there was another change that caught Tenji's attention.

"Huh? There's experience there. But it's only two."

For Tenji, who had no clear memory of defeating any monsters, the change was something that defied speculation. Originally, he had thought that he would gain experience by defeating monsters, so this change confused Tenji's mind because he has not defeated/killed any monsters.

And that's what he thought up to that point.

"Oh! It changed to three!"

He stared at that page and instantly the experience number changed from 2 to 3.

This means that Tenji is gaining experience without his conscious knowledge.

"Hmmm," Tenji thought as he groaned. Then he came up with one possibility.

[The most important thing to remember is that the announcements are all about 'releasing the monsters' just before I left the Hell Realm. Does that....mean that the Goblin defeated the monsters in the Hell Realm and experience was allocated?]

It was a crazy theory to come up with, but it was the only thing Tenji could think of.

"Summonable Hell Beasts."

[Red Demon species]

Goblin (5th grade)

This time, the word "Goblin" glowed silver.

When he gently touched the letter with the belly of his finger, the 'Book of Enma' emitted a dazzling light.

"Oni!"

And then he noticed that the Goblin was standing right in front of Tenji.

Tenji seemed to have a somewhat happy expression on his face. But from the side, the Goblin's expression was still expressionless.

So Tenji suddenly flipped the book to a new page where he found stats.

[Name] (Please set.)

[Race] Goblin

[Grade] 5

[H P] 295

[M P] 212

[Attack Power] 300

[Defensive Strength] 234

[Speed] 198

[Intelligence] 206

[Luck] 277

[Heaven Star] Rock Crusher.

[Added Value] 25% Attack Power

[The page had the Goblin's stats on it. Each of them were ten times higher than mine, and it was no wonder he was strong enough to lift that huge tree so easily.]

The rest is the 'added value' section.

Nodding "hmmm", I shifted my gaze from the book to the Goblin.

"Don't you have a name?"

"Oni!"

"What about Goblin-kun?"

"Oni!"

Apparently, that was the right name for him.

As soon as the naming was done, the Goblin's status changed and the indication "Goblin-kun" was added to the name field.

So Tenji decided to ask the question.

"I'm not sure why I called you here, but did you kill any monsters in the Hell Realm? My experience value was increasing all by itself."

"Oni, oni, oni!"

"I knew it. Thanks for that."

"Oni, oni, oni!"

Tenji seemed to somewhat understand what the Goblin was saying. He patted his head.

After all this time, Tenji was finally learning about his calling.

"I feel like we can get out of this dungeon with Goblin-kun here."

That's what he told the Goblin, ruffling his head.

--That's when he heard something.

Tenji could hear the sound of human footsteps.

Finally, we are back to the real world.
