CH 10

In that container, it wasn’t just one frenzied humanoid. There were over a hundred of them packed inside like sardines, and they were all released the moment the container was opened.

The two people fled through the narrow alleyways made by the containers, with those frenzied humanoids chasing closely behind.

On the lower deck, everyone instinctively looked up.

The sound of footsteps grew denser, accompanied by screams.

Fu Anan certainly heard it, too. She quickly looked through the peephole.

Two people came running down from upstairs. They were covered in blood, and their expressions were filled with fear and panic.

Many crew members stood in the passageway, unable to react in time. The “people” chasing the two behind swarmed towards them. They viciously pounced towards the nearest crew member and crazily teared them apart.

These beings could hardly be called human anymore. They were more terrifying than the locked-up Brother Li. Their skin was pitch-black, with pus and dark blood oozing out. They didn’t have lips, and the grotesque and repulsive tooth sockets were revealed instead. There were only beast-like roars that escaped their mouths. Some of them had only their upper bodies left, dragging their exposed intestines and internal organs as they relentlessly crawled towards the normal people.

What else could they be if not zombies?

Fu Anan looked at the people outside who were still confused about the situation and were approaching the zombies.

“What are you still standing there for? RUN QUICKLY AH! GO BACK INSIDE!”

Fu Anan shouted at them, successfully prompting some people to react. Fu Anan’s shout also attracted several zombies that had just descended the stairs to bang on the door.

F***!

Fu Anan was frightened. She barricaded the door with a small sofa and the mini-fridge from the room.

Fortunately, these zombies were not so persistent on banging on her door. They were later drawn away by the voices of other people in the passageway.

Fu Anan watched those zombies. She only felt a chill run down her spine.

What a lousy game! She usually didn’t even dare to watch zombie movies!

However, now was not the time to be afraid. Fu Anan shakily took out a notebook that had already been filled with notes. She started documenting the zombies as she observed them.

The scope of what she could see through the peephole was limited, so she could only take notes within her line of sight who got bitten and who got scratched.

These zombies had a keen sense of hearing.

What about their vision?

Fu Anan peeked at the brightly lit passageway. Within her line of sight, a chubby man desperately covered his mouth and pressed himself against the corner of the wall. However, the nearby zombie had already spotted him.

The zombies with intact limbs swiftly moved.

Even if the chubby man tapped into his potential and quickly took refuge in a room when his life was threatened, he still got scratched by the pursuing zombie.

Fu Anan squeezed out a drop of sweat[1] for the chubby man. She quickly jotted down some notes.

[Zombies: Sensitive hearing, normal vision, not afraid of light, extremely fast, no pain sensation.]

Recalling the situation when several zombies slammed against the door, she added another sentence in her notebook——

[They are very strong.]

But where did these zombies come from? They were clearly not crew members of Homeward journey Cargo Ship.

In addition, what about the infectious disease that Brother Li and the others got? Could it be related to these zombies?

Fu Anan wrote these two questions in her notebook.

Meanwhile, she kept staring outside, trying to observe the situation.

The people outside were relatively quick to react. Most of them managed to escape back into their rooms. However, there were also unlucky people who got surrounded and attacked by hundred or so zombies. They ended up being severely bitten and mangled.

Perhaps other survivors had also realized the zombies’ sensitivity to sound, as the entire ship fell into silence, or you could say… fell into dead silence.

Fu Anan sat on the sofa, and took a few sips of water to calm herself down.

Because her legs felt weak, Fu Anan sat for a long while. Later on, she stood up and silenced all the electronic clocks, mobile phones, etc.

It was a pity that not everyone could think of this. Some careless people didn’t turn off their electronic gadgets. A harsh and urgent alarm clock rang in a certain room, causing the zombies to swarm.
