CH 22

Carrying the wooden ladder, Fu Anan walked inside in a slightly lighter mood. However, as she got closer to the shipping container, a foul smell faintly lingered in her nostrils.

Fu Anan sniffed the air. She thought that the air would be better on the upper deck of the ship. She found a face towel and covered her nose, then continued in the direction she had chosen.

Outside the small shed, Fu Yizhi opened the door. He coldly looked at the person at the entrance.

“S-Sir.”

Seeing Fu Anan leaving, Sun Caiyan deliberately stood at the door. She looked at Fu Yizhi, a bit probing and flattering.

It didn’t matter if Fu Anan didn’t want her anymore. The man in front of her was handsome and good. The most important thing was that he still had a gun! In just one glance, Sun Caiyan made him her goal in her heart.

“Sir, can you take me in?” Sun Caiyan showed her most delicate and charming side. She pitifully looked at Fu Yizhi, “There was a misunderstanding between me and my companion. Now, I’m all alone. It’s dark and terrifying outside.”

Fu Yizhi didn’t even respond to her. He treated her as if she were invisible.

Sun Caiyan bit her lip. She clasped her hands together and pleaded to Fu Yizhi, “Sir, I can’t survive on my own. I don’t know how much longer the cargo ship will take to dock. Please, I beg you to help me.”

“Scram.”

The door slammed shut.

Being dismissed like air, Sun Caiyan clamped her lips in anger. She cast a resentful glance at the closed door before walking away.

Meanwhile, Fu Anan continued carrying the wooden ladder towards the shipping container.

However, as she approached the center of the rows and rows of stacked containers, the stench grew stronger. The smell was particularly similar to the rotting smell of corpses on the lower deck.

Fu Anan’s footsteps slowed down……

The shipping containers were stacked very high. Fu Anan was standing at the very bottom. She looked at the dark-red container beside her.

The bottom of the container had already rusted, and the rusty water gathered around and corroded the outside of the container. The identification number on it was also blurry and it was difficult to make out its original appearance. Fu Anan was about to walk away when she suddenly noticed a hole had been broken in the corner of a container. Something inside the container was moving.

Curiosity made her squat down and slowly approach to get a clearer view of what was inside.

CLANK.

A pale and mangled finger extended from the hole, with fresh red nail polish on the fingertip. The stiff finger twisted and hooked in the air, scraping off flesh as it met the sharp edges of the hole. Dark blood slowly oozed out from it.

Fu Anan took out her kitchen knife and gently nudged the finger.

Suddenly, there was a violent impact coming from within the container.

This sound was like a drop of water falling into hot oil, causing a massive reaction. Things inside dozens of containers couldn’t bear the loneliness anymore. The distinctive howls of zombies, banging noises, and the scraping of nails against the container walls sounded……

These sounds surrounded Fu Anan, making her scalp tingle.

Holy sh*t!

Fu Anan dropped the wooden ladder and quickly ran back.

“Master Fu, bad news! All the containers in Zone B are filled with zombies!”

Fu Anan wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. She shut all the doors and windows of the small shed tightly.

Fu Yizhi wasn’t surprised to hear this. He remained calm and said, “Not only in Zone B, but also in the four major zones. Around 70% of the containers are filled with zombies.”

Being a day ahead of Fu Anan here, Fu Yizhi had already surveyed the entire top deck.

70%!

Now it was Fu Anan’s turn to have a breakdown.

She had risked her life, thinking that the top deck was relatively safe, only to end up walking straight into the zombie nest.

Fu Anan sat down on the ground in exhaustion. She silently wiped away a tear, “This damn game is so disgusting. It doesn’t tell you anything and just lets you step on landmines. How many zombies must there be in seven layers of containers?”

Fu Yizhi, “Probably around 20,000.”

“How did you know? Did you count them?”
