Chapter 217 The Flower Field

Lee Seng fell backwards and landed on the soft bed. He sighed as he looked at his dark blue walls. There were posters of Kpop boy groups and a couple of girl groups. The music blasted in his ears through the wired headphones. His foot tapped along to the beat of the song. It was upbeat. He wore a white button-up shirt and khaki colored shorts. His toes wiggled within the confines of his socks while his school jacket and backpack laid on the floor.

A knock came at his door and he continued to tap his foot to the beat. The door opened and his mother's head popped into the room. She started to say something when she noticed her kid had his ears plugged in.

"Lee!" Chee shouted. Her curly black hair went to her shoulders and she was in scrubs. She moved into the room and popped her head into her pre-teen's view. "Lee Seng!" Lee Seng plucked the right earpiece out.

"Huh?" The preteen asked. Chee moved out of the way and watched as her preteen son sat up.

"You aren't going to do anything with your friends today? I thought you and the Kang twins were going to the mall." Chee asked. Lee Seng's face turned slightly upset. Chee sighed and crouched, putting a hand on her son's knee. "Did something happen?" Her voice was soft and sweet. Lee Seng didn't know whether or not he should tell her. He sighed and shook his head.

"I just don't wanna go." Lee Seng told her.

"Son," she switched to Hmong. "If there's anything wrong, you can tell me. What happened?" Lee Seng sighed and turned his lowered head to the side.

"Nothing happened…" Lee Seng told her. Chee sighed and patted the preteen's knee.

"Well, if you aren't going out, you can enjoy some lasagna tonight." Chee smiled. Lee Seng's face lit up and turned to face his mother. Chee could tell Lee Seng was in a state between wanting to be happy and angry.

"You're making lasagna?" Lee Seng asked. Chee nodded and stood up.

"I was gonna make some and take some to your dad since he's busy. We can make some together if you'd like." Chee invited him. Lee Seng began to nod his head as his face became conflicted.

"I…" Lee Seng sighed. His phone rang in his pocket. He stared at it and Chee shook her head.

"Answer it and make up with your friends. Whatever happened, you need to talk it out with your friends. If you guys are just gonna hangout, tell them to come over for dinner. I'll make extra, 'kay?" Chee told her son. Lee seng nodded and pulled the phone out. It was Jae calling. Chee closed her son's door behind her as Lee Seng cleared his throat and readjusted himself before answering the call.

"Hello?" He cleared his throat.

"Lee, are you still gonna come over?" Jae asked. Lee Seng sighed. "I'm sorry about what happened today. I didn't mean what I said."

"I didn't mean to bring it up, Lee." Jason spoke. "I didn't know."

"W-we didn't know. E-everyone keeps bringing your… y'know, up so we wanted to ask if the rumors were true." Jae told him. Lee Seng sighed and plucked his other earbud out. He fell back onto the bed.

"It's fine." Lee Seng spoke after a long silence. He stared at the neutral toned ceiling. "I don't hate you two… I hate the rumors." There was a small pause.

"So…?" Jae's voice broke the silence.

"My mom's making lasagna." Lee Seng told them. "If you still wanna hang out… You can come over." Jae and Jason ecstatically agreed. "I'll see you guys in a bit then."

"Mmm, sounds good!" Jason shouted.

"We'll see you in a bit then." Jae told him.

"Mmm. See you then."

"Oh, Lee!"

"Hmm?"

"Do you still wanna go see that flower field?" Jae asked. Lee Seng's mind rumagged for a response. The pictures Jae and Jason had shown him were beautiful.

"Mmm, we probably can't go tonight anymore." Lee Seng answered.

"Let's go over the weekend! I'll ask my Dad to take us."

"Okay. See ya in a bit."

Lee Seng gasped loudly as he shot up. The sun kissed him as a gentle breeze moved by. Lee Seng pushed himself up, noticing the Negative wasn't holding him anymore.

'This place is familiar…' Lee Seng thought. He slowly stood up. He shook his head.

"The Blessing of the Two Suns has been unlocked." A female voice spoke. He looked up at the sky. The sun in the sky split in two. Lee Seng shielded his eyes. The two suns had increased how bright it was, but he never felt the heat increase. The light slowly faded. Lee Seng removed his arms and stepped out from underneath the shade.

Two suns shimmered in the sky of the familiar landscape. He could see the flowery plains stretch as far as his eyes could see. Six sigils appeared in front of him. Three flaming wisps, a person standing behind another with their arms raised with a mischievous grin, a heart, three arrows pointing up, souls flying into a person's mouth and angelic wings with stars surrounding the person.

"Please choose your next Fox Spirit ability." The female voice instructed. Lee Seng raised his finger and hovered over each one. They each gave him the names and a summary of what the ability did.

Fox-fire: Create wisps of flames and burn through your enemies. (98%)

Possession: The user forces their spiritual body into another living thing. If the object of possession has weak will, the user will possess their body and control them. Possession timing differs from different creatures' willpower. A previously possessed creature cannot be possessed for the next 48-hours. (4%)

Charm: Drop your enemy's defenses and attract them towards you with your charming looks. A previously charmed person cannot be charmed for the next 24 hours. (27%)

Stat Boost: Increase your base capabilities as a Fox Spirit. (94%)

Soul Collector: Sacrifice part of your soul pool to use Soul Collector. The user releases a wave of energy all around them. If any weak creatures are nearby, Soul Collector shall instantly kill them and pull their souls into the user. Chances of failure increase with each use within a 10-minute time frame. (1%)

Angelic Aura: Channeling your aura, the user is able to spread the aura to other creatures and defensively protect any creatures within your aura. (67%)

"Six options to choose from… Possession, Charm, and Soul Collector are all cool abilities. They're very limited on the first level… Possession and Charm could come in handy. Charm seems to work regardless of willpower versus Possession. If I fail the possession, I can't use it on the person for the next two days versus if I actually manage to pull it off, the Possession time will vary…" Lee Seng mumbled. "But what does the percentages mean?"

"Notice: Human's hidden power allows the user the possibility to mutate their next ability as well as previous abilities." The female voice answered. The sigils shifted off to the side and Lee Seng's current stats were pulled up.

Soul Eater Lv. 4 0/500 – Ability has a 21% chance to Mutate

Devour (Dark Matter Eater) Lvl. 5 0/1000 - Ability has a 87% chance to Mutate; 1 Skill Passive Available!

Twin Sun Form (White Fox Cloak) Lvl. 2 0/400 – Aura has Evolved! 1 Skill Passive Available! Ability has a 2% chance to Mutate!

Tail Manipulation Lvl. 2 160/200 +20 – Ability has a 18% chance to Mutate!

Other:

Blessing of the Two Suns (Guardian Orb of Life)

Soul Bead Lvl. 2>3 600/500 (700) +570 – Allocate extra souls

"It looks like a lot of my skills have greatly increased from fighting the tree. Keng and I purified whatever corrupted energy there was with the help of the new Twin Sun form… That increased it by two whole levels. I guess when something hits level five or evolves, it gives a skill passive point. I wonder what they do…" Lee Seng continued to mumble.

He clicked on Twin Sun Form and watched as two skill passives were currently available for allocation.

Twin Sun Form

Golden Light: Healing capabilities are amplified.

Silver Light: The burning power of the second sun allows the users to inflict fire damage.

"Healing capabilities or fire damage…?" Lee Seng bit his lip and clicked on Golden Light. The Golden Light symbol lit up. The image flickered and Lee Seng was brought back to his skills. "I have a hundred souls to use."

Lee Seng allocated his extra soul points and nodded satisfied. He increased tail manipulation and shapeshift a level and dumped all of his other points into the twin sun form.

Soul Eater Lvl. 4 0/500 – Ability has a 21% chance to Mutate

Devour (Dark Matter Eater) Lvl. 5 0/1000 - Ability has a 87% chance to Mutate; 1 Skill Passive Available!

Twin Sun Form (White Fox Cloak) Lvl. 2 47/400 – Aura has Evolved! 1 Skill Passive Available! Ability has a 2% chance to Mutate!

Tail Manipulation Lvl. 3 0/300 – Ability has a 18% chance to Mutate!

Shapeshift Lvl. 2 0/200 – Ability has a 91% chance to Mutate!

Other:

Blessing of the Two Suns (Guardian Orb of Life)

Soul Bead Lvl. 2>3 600/500 (700)

He nodded, satisfied and the six new abilities screen popped back up.

"I'll go with the safe bet and take fox-fire." Lee Seng clicked on it.

"Ability mutation has activated. Rolling mutation chances." The female voice spoke. "Fox-fire and Devour abilities have been successfully mutated. Evolution shall continue." The world shifted around Lee Seng. He felt himself being pulled into a slumber, again.
