Chapter 234 The Truth Unfolded, Pt. 2

"Is that apparent?" Lee Seng fumbled with his fingers.

"Mmm, you were always here but it always felt like you were in your own world. You'd smile outta nowhere sometimes, but I always assumed you thought about something funny." Ritsuka nodded.

'Wow, do I really smile that much to myself?' Lee Seng thought. The last couple of months reappeared in his head and he could remember a load of times he caught himself smiling to himself while he was walking with Ritsuka and the others.

"Still, when someone smiles to themselves, it's not the weirdest thing. I just didn't think there was an actual thing behind it." Ritsuka nodded at Lee Seng.

"Mmm, I guess I do smile a lot to myself." Lee Seng chuckled. "Keng and I talk a lot about the mundane things throughout the day. He makes jokes so sometimes I catch myself almost laughing aloud." HIs smile faded and he looked up at Ritsuka, again.

"So, let me summarize this. You were given a serum like everyone else but it turns out the Creator, your dad, gave you a special one that was created from another Fox Spirit, right?"

"Yup."

"And you didn't produce any powers other than extreme super-Biohuman capabilities such as your strength, self-healing capabilities, speed, etc.?"

"Mmmhm."

"So," Ritsuka shifted on the bed. "A couple months ago, you made a pact with a god–"

"God King. He's a God King." Lee Seng corrected.

"Right, a God King." Ritsuka corrected himself. Lee Seng nodded and waited for Ritsuka to continue summarizing. "You made a pact with this God King deity. You got your gravity powers from him but he also gave you the Fox Spirit, Keng, right?"

"Yup."

"When he put Keng into you, it gave you a whole bunch of Dark Matter energy and that activated the mutation ability you got from the first serum, right?"

"Yup."

"And you got your gravity powers from the God King as a result of this?"

"I technically only got a butt load of Dark Matter and Keng. The mutation ability created the Gravity ability as a result of the overflow of Dark Matter within my body." Lee Seng clarified.

"Oh," Ritsuka nodded. "I guess that's one way to put it…"

"Yeah, it's a lot to take in."

"So you didn't really have any powers then?"

"Technically, no. The mutation ability did that."

"So you got your gravity ability from the mutation ability because it felt the overflow of Dark Matter energy entering your body because of the God King. So you ended up, eventually coming here in that short of time?"

"Yeah, I guess… Y'know, I never thought about how I even got into this Academy within that short amount of time… It's only been a couple of months…" Lee Seng shook his head in amazement. "Wow. People might call me a prodigy…"

"I think they might suspect the Creator pulled some strings for you to get into here." Ritsuka threw in another theory. Lee Seng nodded along with Ritsuka's theory.

"They would probably think that beforehand… They aren't exactly wrong." Lee Seng whispered.

"What?" Ritsuka looked up at him. "That's why you were so confident you were getting in? The Creator pulled strings for you to get in?"

"Rich families do this all the time. Use connections to get their kids into the best school in the whole country. Honestly, the best school in the Northwest of the States."

"I can't believe you got in because of your father… Wow, the rumors were true then…"

"Partially true. Even though I knew I was getting in off a hunch the Creator would pull something like this, I wanted to prove to myself I could do it and… I technically, in a way, did." Lee Seng shrugged. "But that isn't the point, the point is you know probably the biggest pair of secrets I have to keep for the rest of my life."

"Does anyone else know about this?" Ritsuaka asked.

"No one knows about me getting my powers through the God King. Everyone suspects my physical form is just a strange thing that occurred due to my gravity powers when I awakened. A lot of people, including the Creator and the Numbers, think I was just some late bloomer. The only one who would probably know a little bit more is my older brother, Akio, but he probably doesn't even know the full truth."

"Okay, I got that basically summarized but I'm more curious about Realms and your Fox Spirit. W-w-w-what's all that about?" Ritsuka gave him a confused look.

"We don't know how much the serums affected this world. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if that was just a cover up for some odd experiment that went wrong and changed everything around the same time the Serums became widely known. But, there are other worlds out there. Worlds that can overlap ours just enough and allow people to accidentally move into them without noticing I don't know how it happened, but it was around the time Olivia and I were fighting you and Evan."

"Hmmm, that's why there wasn't anyone else there when Olivia got knocked out of the ring. I was so confused. People looked around for you but found nothing. You just vanished. There were rumors that you weren't really there. It was just a spectral image."

"No, I was there. I vanished into Limbo."

"Li-limbo? Like the place between life and death?" Ritsuka stuttered. Lee Seng casually nodded. "It doesn't help that you just casually nod at that."

"Limbo is the closest Realm next to us. It overlaps Earth perfectly. Time's weird there and its all black, white and gray."

"Okay, so you went into Limbo. Did something happen there?"

"I met the guy who basically runs the place. The Hat Man."

"Dude… Is this even real?" Ritsuka asked skeptically. "Are you one of those paranormal fanatics...? It just sounds like you're having some sort of fever dream and spewing out nonsense. "

"You believed the first half of the stuff I told you but you won't believe I went to Limbo?" Lee Seng stood up. He moved over to Ritsuka and extended his hand out to Ritsuka.

"What?" Ritsuka gave him a strange look.

"Gimme your hand. I've been curious about this but I wanna know if I can pull you into the other Realm."

"We're gonna go to Limbo? Isn't that dangerous? Souls that can't move on stay there and they m-might attack us." Ritsuka's bravado seemed to have its limits and Limbo was one of them. He tried to push Lee Seng's hand away but Lee Seng grabbed his wrist and held it tight.

"Fine, I'll take you to the Realm where the Fox Spirits live. You can experience how hot it is there." Lee Seng glanced at the gold outfit casually on the floor, a couple of feet away from Ritsuka and him.

"I…. Uh…. Ritsuka tried to pull his hand away from Lee Seng. "I don't think this is a good idea."

"Nah, it's a perfect idea. You can see the two suns and you can believe me." Lee Seng nodded.

"Lee S-S-Seng, I don't know about thi–"

"I need proof to let you know this is all real, right? I'll show you and we can go look for my Fox Spirit and you'll have to believe me!" Lee Seng cemented his resolve. He would show Ritsuka the truth and make him one hundred percent believe him.

Ritsuka started to stutter and continued to say things such as "it isn't a good idea," "let's just continue the conversation here," but Lee Seng had already tuned him out.

"I walk among the land of the humans. I wish to enter the Realm of the God King." Lee Seng spoke in Fox tongue. Ritsuka stopped mumbling and listened to the strange words coming out of Lee Seng's mouth.

"W-what language is that?" Ritsuka asked. Lee Seng waited for a moment but felt nothing.

No distortion, no bending of reality and space time. Nothing.

"Hmm, did it not work?" Lee Seng looked around. His grip continued to hold Ritsuka down. He didn't want to accidentally 'lose' the first friend he could talk to about all of these things with and not have to hide it constantly.

"What're you doing?" Ritsuka asked. "Was something supposed to happen? What language was that?"

"We're supposed to Realm jump but I'm not sure why it isn't working… I guess I can't Realm jump with you. That was the Fox tongue by the way. I got too lazy to translate it." Lee Seng glanced around one more time. He loosened his grip on Ritsuka when everything around them distorted. Lee Seng quickly tightened his grip, accidentally squeezing too hard and making Ritsuka wince.

"W-what in hell is happening?!?" Ritsuka shouted in Japanese. The room distorted and folded in around him and Lee Seng. Lee Seng reached up and grabbed Ritsuka's other arm and smiled.

"It'll be over soon." Lee Seng spoke. He watched as the distorting grew and suddenly it was dark. The huge moon hovered above them as sounds of a dim fire crackling was heard. Voices were quietly talking to each other in a foreign language Ritsuka couldn't understand. The cool Realm of Life appeared around them and Lee Seng felt gravity pull Ritsuka downwards.

"Holy shit." Ritsuka panicked, loudly as he and Lee Seng went tumbling onto the ground. A small dirt cloud puffed and the voices stopped. "What the hell happened? Where are we?"

Lee Seng kept himself above Ritsuka, looking around. He was hesitant on letting Ritsuka get up but the friend was already pushing Lee Seng off to the side so he could sit up.

"What the hell happened, Lee Seng? Where are we?" Ritsuka shouted. Footsteps rushed towards them.

"Get behind me." Lee Seng told Ritsuka.

"W-why?" Ritsuka asked as he saw humanoids with fox tails rushing at them with glowing hands.

"Who are you? Reveal yourselves or we'll fire!" A male Fox with fur shouted.
