Chapter 354 The God King’s Order

The immense shadow energy burning from Jyu'so's fingers caught Keng's attention. Florabelle moved backwards as she listened dti Jyu'so's request.

"You want to be sure he actually was here?" Florabelle asked. "How are you gonna do that?"

"You and the Silver one shall touch the flames and the memories will come forth. I will know all I need to know." Jyu'so answered.

"Why would you need to do that when Nature Warrior could tell you. You could easily get the information from him."

"He wasn't around for the first half. He had other matters to attend to, so I need your memories along with the Silver one. Any more questions?"

"Will it hurt?" Keng motioned at the shadowy flames.

"No," Jyu'so shook his head. "It'll simply feel like a warm energy wrapping around you. It'll be over before you know it." He waited for the Sprite and Silver fox.

'There's also another reason I'm doing this. I need to be sure of what Halys told me about the Golden one. If he's truly connected to the disappearance of Eshra, I must find out what his other half is capable of. The Shadow Assessment is the perfect tool to gain understanding of any connected beings. The closest witnesses are to the Golden one, the easier it'll be to pinpoint his location off or on Realm. This'll help gauge if the Silver one will be a worthy pupil.' Jyu'so thought.

Jyu'so's mind recalled a recent interaction with the God King. The God King had made his way with his small troupe into Jyu'so's seaside village, Pea'ir. He was set in Pea'ir because the Fox Spirits wanted to branch out near the sea. In the coming months of establishing a village at the seaside, he realized they had potential friends in the sea – the group of Merfolks.

He did his best to establish relations with them, but found it hard. The merfolk had trial after trial and the Shadow Assessment became a useful tool to gauge their intentions. God King Daros had come to meet his people while Jyu'so was finishing up on of his many talks with the Merfolk leader, Zax.

"We will continue at the specified time next week." Zax wrapped up the conversation. The large presence of the God King caught there attention.

"God King Dathro!" Jyu'so bowed.

"God King, a pleasure to see you, again." Zax bowed.

"I see I've caught both of you at the end of your conversation." The God King spoke.

"We just finished, God King." Jyu'so answered. The God King nodded. "My daughter keeps telling me I should take one of the children, the Merfolk, and bind them in harmony with my essence as a sign of friendship. I think I will have to wait on that. It seems a blooming friendship is happening without my interference." The God King chuckled.

"It would be an honor, God King. The goddess does wish for one of us to climb into your ranks as a token of her appreciation and of our faith. I'm grateful you are a patient God King." Zax bowed, again. God King Dathro raised his hand and smiled.

"My child, you do not need to be so grateful. It is fine. My children have created many different creatures and people. It is only fair I rule over all with kindness and compassion just as I rule with mighty conviction and judgment.

"I shall not hold too much of your time, Merfolk Leader Zax. I wanted to talk to both of you about something that shall occur in the near future. May you lend your ears for a moment?"

"Sure, my God." Jyu'so and Zax nodded.

"You must have heard talk about the new Saviors, correct?" God King Dathro asked.

"Yes, m'lord." Jyu'so nodded. Merfolk leader Zax nodded, drifting above the seawater.

"The merfolk have heard of the new Saviors. Twin spirits merged as one but the Fox Spirit didn't take hold of the vessel?"

"Correct." God King Dathro nodded. "A time is coming where the Vessel and the Fox Spirit are separated by force due to an unknown force. Jyu'so, I need you to go to Revit and find the Spirits in 70 days. Attend to your personal matters there. The Silver Spirit shall arrive two days after you arrive. You will take him in and assess the situation for yourself through any means.

"When he has passed your tests, train him for the appointed time he has to return to Earth. He will have to find his Vessel before their connection fades. If their connection breaks off, we shall lose our chance to figure out what the Vessel's father is doing." God King explained.

"And what about me, m'lord? What do I have to do with this?" Merfolk leader Zax asked.

"As for you, Merfolk leader Zax, I heard you needed help with some matters within your home. Hydran has requested I send someone to help the Merfolk with a matter. You can use the Silver one, Keng, when the time comes."

"God King Dathro, h-how will he be useful? I thought Fox Spirits were incapable of breathing underwater." Merfolk Leader Zax asked. God King nodded and motioned for one of the ladies nearby to bring something forward. The Fox Spirit moved over with a large case that was made of Seawillow. She lowered it to the Merfolk leader and opened it for him.

"This shall suffice, yes?" God King Dathro asked.

"By Hydran!" Merfolk Leader Zax looked at God King Dathro with surprise. "Sh-she is going to use the trident?"

"Yes," God King Dathro nodded. "Though it might change form when the Silver Savior holds it. It shall keep the seas from harming him and turning him into a Drowned while he holds it."

"I never thought Lady Hydran would ever uncover the Hydrosphere, again… Never in my t-time…" Merfolk Leader Zax stuttered. The Fox Spirit shut the case and handed it off to him.

"You may do what you need as well, Merfolk Leader Zax. Hydran and I will both allow for a test."

"Anything?" Zax raised an eyebrow.

"Anything."

"So when this Silver Savior comes 72 days from now, I'm to take him here and train him?" Jyu'so asked. "Are their fates that important, God King?" The God King stood silent for awhile.

"Yes. Destiny has deemed them so. Rox'su and Vox'su have taken a strong liking to them. They both have seemed to intervene and bless their chosen ones even more so than those they've blessed in the past and in the future. Take care of the Silver Savior and make sure he is ready to combat the darkness that's to come."

Jyu'so watched the Shadow Assessment flame flicker in his fingers as he watched Keng and Florabelle look at the shadows. Keng lifted his hand up to the flames and touched them.

"Ah, it's just quick, right?" Florabelle asked. Jyu'so nodded.

"You won't feel a thing." Jyu'so answered. Florabelle fluttered over and touched the flames. As soon as Florabelle's small hands connected, Keng and Florabelle felt something click in their heads very quickly.

It was only a few seconds before Jyu'so simply nodded and pulled away, extinguishing the flames.

'I made the right choice.' Jyu'so nodded.

"What did that do?" Keng asked. Gorrum shook his head as he moved to stand behind Keng. "That was quick. Was it supposed to–" Keng fell into Gorrum, who was prepared to catch him.

"What happened to him?" Florabelle asked, looking at Jyu'so and Gorrum.

"Elder Jyu'so is testing the boy." Gorrum answered. He lifted Keng up into his arms with ease. "We shall see what he's truly made up of. If the Elder is given enough time, he can probably pinpoint where the Vessel is." Gorrum started towards the main cabin building.

"Why would you need to know that, Elder?" Florabelle turned to Jyu'so and asked. "I thought you were just assessing him and making sure he wasn't lying."

"Oh," Jyu'so raised his eyebrows. He pulled the hat off, ignoring it as it dissolved into shadows. His rough black hair unraveled as he quickly did touch ups on it. "It seems you are very observant when it comes to energy, Sprite Guardian. I'm impressed." She moved closer to him. She was curious what was happening and wanted to know if.

"Will I regret my choice?" Florabelle asked.

"That's all up to the Silver one." Jyu'so stared at the open door Gorrum went through with Keng. "If he can pass my test, I will do what is ordered of me from the God King, himself. If he can't pass this test, he definitely won't be able to save the Golden one."

"But, do not worry, Sprite Guardian." Jyu'so looked at her. "I will not kill him. His Destiny is too great to ignore. If I kill that, it'll disrupt the workings that are already happening as we speak." Jyu'so started up the stairs into the cabin. Florabelle followed next to him, ever more curious.

"Did something happen to Lee Seng? Will be be okay?" Florabelle asked. Jyu'so zipped his lips and put his index finger in front of his lips like he was telling her "I can't say." Florabelle stopped short of the door and nodded.

"Just pray to the gods the Silver one will be able to pass the upcoming trials." Jyu'so turned to look at her one last time. He gave her a nod before entering the cabin.
