Chapter 731 The Last Checkup

"This happened yesterday during the crazy gust of wind?" The doctor asked Lee Seng. Lee Seng nodded as he sat in the tub full of hot water. Priestess Ro'sa and the other Priestesses poured a combination of things into the water which made it milky. Lee Seng had sat in this milky water for hours at a time, letting himself slowly 'become one with the natural ingredients to be better.' The doctor shifted and nodded. He pointed at my arms which were submerged in the water. "What exactly happened? Was it a physical move or a mental move?"

"I reached out to grab her like this." Lee Seng demonstrated what he did to the doctor. "It held for a split second and then we just dropped. If it wasn't for Lily, I think we could've sustained more damage from the height we fell at."

"And this was when the wind picked up for that short amount of time?"

"Yeah." Lee Seng nodded. "That's when I saw the red eyes looking at us. It smiled at me and said, 'He's awake. I shall – prepared.' I couldn't really understand all of it, but it clearly was targeted at me, I think."

"Who's alive? You?" The doctor pointed. Lee Seng nodded. "Those who would know you're alive are either in this town or out there in that village you came from."

"Destroyed village. Supposedly." Lee Seng corrected the doctor.

"Right." The doctor scooted closer. "So, there would be nobody that would know your secret except for those close to you. But I am getting off topic. We should run you through a series of tests. I think the tests given to you are too basic, so we will have to perform tests similar to what you went through yesterday."

"You want me to fall?" Lee Seng raised his eyebrows at the doctor. The doctor cackled and shook his head.

"Gods, no!" The doctor relieved Lee Seng. "I want to put your life, somewhat, on the line and see how you react to that." Lee Seng's face dropped, and the doctor held himself together. He couldn't laugh at his patient. "You've been out for nearly two cycle years. That's a long time on Earth, correct?"

"Yeah… Years." Lee Seng answered.

"Exactly, so your body must be feeling the effects of all of that. If you were in a coma for that long, woke up, got put into physical and mental therapy as well as placed in a place you don't quite remember, you'd be feeling a bit crazy. Your surroundings play a pivotal role in this, and you had to adjust to many things over the couple months! We need to stir the muscle memory of all that Energy and use it. Maybe that will produce the same results as yesterday or it could just be a one-time thing."

The doctor checked Lee Seng's condition afterwards. Lee Seng was back into regular shape even though he didn't feel like it. Lee Seng, now dressed, followed the doctor out to the back fields. He scanned around and pointed at a large tree in the distance.

"We'll do it there." The doctor told Lee Seng. The two stopped underneath the tree and the doctor turned to look at Lee Seng. "Anytime you want to start."

"I just need to get up there?" Lee Seng asked.

"Get up there and then float down."

Lee Seng nodded and shook his hands and legs. Gold, silver, and purple blinked into existence as a black energy moved in between the lights. The colors melded together, creating the night sky around Lee Seng. The energy shimmered and then condensed into an aura as Lee Seng jumped into the air. He could feel his body become light, easily moving into the smaller branches. Lee Seng lowered himself onto the branch and released the hold on himself. The large branch bent a bit under his weight as he held onto the tree trunk.

"Good." The doctor nodded. "Come down now." Lee Seng nodded and activated the cosmic energy around him. He felt himself become light and stepped off the branch, watching himself slowly descend back onto the ground. The doctor nodded and then asked Lee Seng to do it again. Lee Seng looked up and without motioning, pulled himself up towards the branch. He got about three-fourths of the way there when the energy shattered, letting Daros's gravity take over.

Lee Seng yelped as he grabbed onto the branch and held onto it. His body dangled as the doctor nodded. Lee Seng pulled himself onto the branch and sat on it. He looked down at the doctor.

"Like that." Lee Seng said. "It randomly fizzled out like that."

"Fizzled? I would say it completely stopped." The doctor replied. He brushed his chin as he thought. "Come down here. Let me examine your energy, again." Lee Seng nodded and leapt off the branch and landed on the ground. "Surround yourself with your energy, again. Don't form it into an aura."

Lee Seng did as he was told as the doctor studied the energy. Lee Seng's energy would be fine for a bit and then suddenly disappear. It would reappear like a flickering light then restabilize itself.

"You went into a coma because you overused your Dark Matter, correct?" The doctor asked after a while. Lee Seng nodded.

"That's what I'm told. They had to pour energy into me to stabilize me, so I didn't die." Lee Seng replied. The doctor nodded and took a step back.

"You can shut off your energy." The doctor instructed. Lee Seng's light faded, and the doctor sighed. "This could be a result of overusing your Dark Matter. I'm not well-versed with Dark Matter but from what I've seen from your friends, it works like our Energy. It flows within your body, but it's not a natural thing that happens. It's a by-product of the serum, correct?"

"Yes." Lee Seng nodded.

"That means you guys aren't born with a growing set of energy. You are given this serum and depending on the person, it produces a certain amount. Overtime, it looks like Dark Matter will grow with you, but it seems yours has somewhat stopped. I wonder why…" The doctor brushed his chin as he took another moment to think. After some time, the doctor asked, "Can you change into your Fox Spirit form?"

Lee Seng shrugged. He didn't even know if he could do that. Lee Seng pictured him as a Fox Spirit and looked around.

"Hm, am I still locked out of it?" Lee Seng whispered. He looked up towards the sky, not catching a glimpse of the suns.

"Can you… not switch for some reason?" The doctor asked. Lee Seng's head snapped back to the doctor, realizing the doctor was still there.

"Ah, I—" Lee Seng bit his lip. He stuck up a finger and jogged in place for a few seconds before imagining himself as a Fox Spirit. Nothing happened to him. Lee Seng sighed and scratched his head. "I guess I still can't."

"Were you… disconnected?" The doctor asked.

"If Keng's out here and can use his abilities… Why can't I?" Lee Seng whispered.

"Doctor!" Priestess Ro'sa called. The doctor turned and noticed Priestess Ro'sa was walking over to them.

"Priestess, what brings you here?" The doctor asked. The Priestess gave a small greeting to both, noticing Lee Seng was looking behind him.

"Hm, it isn't working." Lee Seng whispered.

"What're you doing out here? I thought you were just doing a normal checkup of his overall physical health and energy health." The Priestess looked at the doctor. The doctor looked at Lee Seng and bit his lip.

"There's something wrong with Lee Seng's Energy flow. I don't know much about Biohuman Dark Matter to help." The doctor sighed. Lee Seng snapped out of it and greeted Priestess Ro'sa with a nod. "Savior, do you know anyone who would be well-verse in this sort of thing?"

"Mmm, not off the top of my head…" Lee Seng tapped his chin. "I'd have to ask Keng if he knows anyone who can check my energy flow."

"What in particular is wrong with your energy, Savior?" Priestess Ro'sa asked.

"It suddenly disappears using it. It comes back like a flickering light bulb… Er, flickering flame." Lee Seng answered. The Priestess nodded and looked at the doctor.

"That doesn't sound good. You're in a position where you need to use your powers. I hope you find someone who can help you."

"Don't worry. I'm pretty sure my teammates won't let me work anytime soon. I'll ask Keng and see what I should do. I'm just really grateful for the help you all've been giving me in the last few months." Lee Seng gave politeful bow. He raised his head up and smiled at the doctor and the Priestess. A glimpse of Ritsuka and Keng peeking over in the distance caught Lee seng's attention. Lee Seng smiled and waved at them. Keng and Ritsuka waved before being pulled by two arms out of view.

"Oh, right!" Priestess Ro'sa spoke up. "You're friends are here to pick you up like usual. If you aren't done then I could—"

"We're done." The doctor reassured the Priestess. "Savior, I would figure out if you know anyone who would be well-versed in this sort of thing. Someone who specifically deals with energy flow within the body. I'm an all-around doctor, but I'm not quite versed in that. Sorry I couldn't help."

"Don't be." Lee Seng threw his hands up. "It's fine. I'm happy you even treated me. I thought I'd be bedridden for the rest of my life. Thank you for both of your help." Lee Seng bowed which made the doctor and Priestess bow at him. "If that's all, I'll leave first."

"Go. I hope we see each other again, Savior." The Priestess bowed. Lee Seng gave a light bow before excusing himself and jogging away.
