Chapter 138 - 138 - Rescue Team Part 2

As they walked into the huge garden area of the villa, Yue looked around in shock. The garden that was once lush with plants and greens was barren. "Did you harvest everything?"

"Hmm... I feared the second wave of the virus outbreak. It's just a cautionary move, but in the future we will grow everything back. Half of the harvest has been preserved while the half has been donated to the settlements to give as rations," uncle Wen whispered as he walked up front.

Zou Yue looked at him, completely revered by his kindness. "Without you, I don't know how this settlement is going to survive,"

Uncle Wen glanced back with a weird look on his face. It was half sad plus half happy at his compliment. "I don't know..... I am just an old man. I can't eat every vegetable and fruits in here by myself. I can't bear to watch them rot away. It's better to give them away to ones who need it,"

Yue smiled. "You are right...."

In his last life, uncle Wen's garden was the main source of food for many inhabitants. After a few years, there was a variant variety of wheat that grew fast and strong was genetically created by Qian Wen. It was grown and made into bread that many can afford to.

But sadly, he was not in a state that he can even afford it on most days.

'The day I got so many bread loafs was given by her,' he glanced at his sister.

Tian Ai gave him a task to gather information on Fan Xui and gave him five loaves of bread.

Sadly, he did not get the chance to eat it before he died.

'I hope la Trexa ate her fill...'

Thinking about the cute rat, he could not help but feel slightly sad. Without him, she must have been very lonely and hungry.

'My poor baby, I hope you ate and lived well without me....'

Someone suddenly tugged at the bottom of his shirt.

Yue glanced to his right. Tian just gave him a weird glance asking if anything was wrong.

He just shook his head.

"Who are these young girls?" uncle Wen whispered as he was slowly walking down the cobble stone path.

"This is Lui, Juda and.....last but not the least, this is Tian Ai," he gestured to his sister with a small smile.

Tian just nodded his way.

Uncle Wen peered at her with a nod. "You look so much like little Yue... We searched for you for so many years, but our little Yue luckily found you. Welcome to the family young one."

Tian glanced at Yue with a strange look. "How long...." she hesitantly whispered. "How long did you search for?"

"Years..... Right after your mum got married to that stupid Zou. She has been desperately searching for you as well. I'm happy you are found," but his eyes held a weird glint as he looked her way. "How did you stay hidden for so long,"

Tian did not answer rather, she just challengingly looked his way. "I have my own secrets. I hope you don't prod,"

"Very well then," Wen smirked. "You are so much like your old man...."

Yue froze for a second. "Uncle, you know Tian's biological father?"

Uncle Wen did not react much. He just nodded. "Let's just say that he is out of the picture. Zou Wei is her father, and that's the end of it,"

Yue worriedly looked at her.

Tian just nodded. "Good to know. At least I have two parents who waited for me,"

Uncle Wen chuckled. "You are right, young lady."

They reached the front door by then. Uncle Wen opened the huge double door with difficulty. "Come in, let's have something to eat,"

The inside of the house was completely filled with so many military officers roaming here and there. They were all in uniform, moving things or packaging things.

It was completely orderly and uniform.

Yue was happy to see this. Without Fan Xui, he thought that the settlement would crumble into nothing, but it looks like it was being held together by mister Wen.

'But this peace won't last long..' he glanced around. A few soldiers did not have a good look on their faces. He could notice some amount of envy or greed in their eyes as they saw the noodles and other stuff that was being packaged and rationed.

'Fan Xui needs to come back soon. We have to go save him....'

Uncle Wen led them to his study and served him hot chocolate and hot tea to others.

"Uncle, you must know why we are here," Yue anxiously began.

Uncle raised his brow. "Why?"

"We are going to save Qian Wen and Fan Xui... and for that we might need your permission to leave the settlement...."

"No," he curtly said, sipping his hot tea.

"N-no? oh.....why is it so?"

"Because I can't let you risk your life, young man." Uncle Wen suddenly leaned forward and pinched his cheeks. "You are stubborn as a bull, but stupid sometimes didn't you forget that a second meteor is coming our way. Do you want to be out in the streets at these perilous times?"

"But it's Qian Wen and Fan Xui! One is your son and the other is my... m-my friend!!" Yue exclaimed with his eyes filled with tears.

"And one in front of me is my god son!" Wen gently patted his head. "Rest assured, I haven't given up on that stupid son of mine. I have sent out a rescue team. They will retrieve him successful I hope...."

Yue frowned, lightly escaping his hands. "The soldiers we saw on the way here!"

"Hmm you saw them, huh? They are fully loaded with ammo enough to deal with a huge hoard. Air attacks have commenced to the clear out the streets for them and to rescue the surviving humans as much as they could,"

Yue sat back, completely in awe. His uncle had sent out a full on attack team to retrieve his sin and Fan Xui. Compared to their half ass team, theirs was well organized and well equipped to deal with any initial level zombies.

"Your heart is assured now?" uncle Wen smiled softly. "My son might be stupid, but he can survive anything. I know that he is waiting for the right moment to escape out of that hospital. I'm just sending a small team to assist him,"

Yue nodded.

Suddenly, uncle Wen looked towards Juda with a wide smirk. "Ah, you brought dinner,"

Bakbak who poked its head out of the bag, just clucked loudly and hid back inside. The black cat, Blackie meowed loudly and ducked in as well.

"Bakbak is not food... she is a pet..."

Uncle Wen nodded. "I was just joking, young lady. I have a few male country chickens in the garden. If she is laying, we can have her breed a few chicken."

"that sounds like a great idea!" Yue glanced at the angry white chicken who was glaring at them all. "but looks like Bakbak does not like it one bit,"

Juda protectively held the small tote bag on her lap. "let's not hurry into these decisions. Bakbak shall meet her future husband. If she likes him, she can have children,'

The chicken glanced at her with shimmering eyes.

"The chicken approved," uncle Wen placed his cup gracefully on the table in front. "What about the cat? Is that a new pet too?"

"She followed us voluntarily, and Juda picked her up,"

The black cat perked its ears, guessing their words. It meowed loudly and jumped out of the bag onto Tian's shoulders.

Juda's face instantly fell as she glanced at the black cat on Tian. "Betrayer...." she whispered ever so softly.

Tian instantly looked her way. "what did you say?"

"ahh she meant the cat.... the cat...." Lui tried to smooth things out. "She must like you a lot Tian... haha..."

Tian froze stiff looking at Blackie. "It's not a she. It's a he. Take it off, I feel its balls rub on me." she was on the verge of pushing the poor cat away in disgust.

"Oh shit," Yue ran and took the troublesome cat off her.

Tian obsessively rubbed her shoulders with a tissue and frowned deeply.

Juda took the cat from Yue's hand. "I'm sorry that you feel so disgusted by my dear cat's feelings,"

With an underlying bite in her words, she glared her way.

"Yes, it was disgusting. I have never had a cat have feeling for me. How do you expect me to deal with it?"

"You must reject it kindly,"

"I did!!"

"You almost flung Blackie off,"

"I did not!!"

"You were about to,"

Yue could not handle their meaningless banter any longer. "Oh-kay, that's enough. Tian, I'll make sure that Blackie does not approach you and Juda.... I don't think Blackie has feelings for Tian. I mean look at him…"

The black cat was leisurely licking its balls.

"That's not the point!" Juda grumbled and left the room.

"So annoying!!" Tian stormed out in rage as well.

Helpless, Yue glanced at uncle Wen for solace.

"Give up little Yue, those two can talk it out by themselves," Wen walked over and half hugged him.. "Go home and take rest. We'll meet after those two are here,"
