Chapter 175 - 175 - The Clingy And The Soft Hearted

Zou Yue finally sorted every take-out box with the quails and the chicken in a corner. As for the cat basket, he placed it inside another ventilated box. If in case the cat mutates, he could take care of it easily.

The quails and chicken would be easier to kill off. But this naughty cat was very, very fast.

"We have burned down the plants," Lui said tiredly, wiping her sweat. She plopped down on the sofa next to him. "Say, who was that uncle who flew us here?"

"Uncle Bohai? He is a friend of ours. He helped me out with buying this place and also renovating it. He is multi-talented."

"I see..." she nodded with a look of interest. "Introduce us when you can,"

"Sure,"

Zou Yue was more than happy to be the matchmaker. Uncle Bohai was very sweet and kind, but there was one setback.

"He is old, you know,"

"How old?"

"He is in his thirties and you are just eighteen..."

Lui looked at him in pleasant shock. "I'm glad you think that, but I'm twenty-two years old. Started my college late."

"Oh, that explains a lot,"

Naturally, he agreed to help her out. After which she just laid on the sofa for a nap.

Tian and his parents were finished with burning off the other plants. There was no more work left for him to take care of.

Yue walked over to the garden area and once more inspected the soil. If in case, he spotted a single root. He plucked it away and tossed it into the small, controlled fire they had started inside.

"Squeak.."

"Trexa baby, what are you still doing there?" he went to pick her up, but she just shook her head, refusing to move. "Baby, what are you watching there? Won't you come with baba to watch the stars?"

Trexa looked up with interest, but still, she shook her head and keenly looked at the slightly murky water surface.

"Fine... I'll go by myself," he kissed her small head and walked off to his room.

He pulled down the stairs and climbed up to the roof through the small opening on the roof.

Zou Yue carefully walked past the multiple solar sheets that were protected with chicken mess wire. There was no safe place to sit. He walked around a bit until he spotted a solar sheet that was complexly charred.

He plopped on it, gazing up at the beautiful night sky. But unlike usual, it was very bright as the huge meteors descended slowly casting a ray of light in their path. The meteor shards collectively looked like a sparkling firework.

They were very beautiful to look at, but the nasty things they hid would endanger earth and its inhabitants.

"This is the beginning..."

All that happened till now was like a trailer to a movie. This was when the actual movie will begin....

The times will change where the hunters become the hunted. Mutated plants and animals would roam the earth, hunting humans as their food source.

Not only that....Somehow the two viruses combine and affected the zombies, making them stronger faster, as well as smarter.

After this stage, he could easily expect every undead to be at least a level one zombie.

He glanced at the wall that was being built in a hurry. 'I need to join the workforces soon. It would be useful if anyone with earth ability and metal ability can join the forces. I can suggest uncle to find a way to keep track of everyone with abilities.'

Mentally, he thought of all the things he could change.

But there was one thing he could not change.

That was his ability.

His strength ability was usually at this point, but after a while, it will become absolute just like his speed ability did.

Thinking of that day made him anxious.

'I wanted to be strong.... gosh I really used to have used my wordings properly. I got the strength and ability after that wish of mine...' he thought sadly.

Right now his parent's abilities were powerful. But his mum's power was not an attack type.

It was more of a support type of ability, just like Juda's.

His dad's power, on the other hand, can be used as a defensive ability as well as supportability.

Overall, they were vulnerable. Tian was with them, but she alone can only deal with a few attackers. If a few ability users attacked them together, they would be in grave danger.

"sigh..." he climbed down, closing the hatch firmly, and went back to bed.

******

In the dark roads, Fan Xui and Qian walked silently.

"Thanks, man... for letting me crash at your place. It's nice of you,"'

Fan nodded. "I didn't even know I had a place here?"

"You brought it after you were so infatuated with Yue,"

Fan Xui froze. "really? Is it close to his house?"

"You both ate neighbors. Just out your window is his room. You know something when your house was renovated you made sure to seal that window so that no man can peek into your darling's room,"

He smiled widely. It was something he would have done. "am I close with his family?"

"Yue's parents love you but his sister, though. She seems to hate you unconditionally. Don't know why, though? You're a likable guy,"

"I know." Fan Xui grimaced. Of course, he knew why. It was all because he tried to kill them both. "They will like me, eventually. I hope."

Suddenly, Qian hopped over to a different path.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to visit Peng Peng. His house is close by. I heard he was very worried about Me." he whispered with a slight blush.

As they were walking past a house, the door suddenly shot open and a figure ran towards them.

In reflection Fan Xui quickly kicked this figure away from them.

"ow!... ah... it hurts..." a soft voice cried pitifully.

Only after that did Fan Xui realise that he had hit the person and not a zombie.

"It's dark.." he peered at the person scrawled on the floor. It was none other than Bai Liwei himself.

"it's okay Fan ah..." Liwei whispered, glancing at them with tears in his eyes. "I'm so happy.... so so happy that you are alive.." he hugged his legs.

Fan Xui just glanced at Qian.

Qian just shrugged. "Hey, Liwei, how have you been, huh? My gosh, you look pale," he wen helped him up, patting the sand off his knees. "Sorry, we really could not see well in the dark. That's why.."

"it's okay," in a soft voice Liwei whispered. "This pain is nothing compared to the nights I have been worrying about you both,"

"Aw, that's sweet of you Liwei," Qian pinched his cheeks. "Tell me if you have any problems, okay. I'll sort it out."

Qian moved back, ready to walk away.

"Wait, Qian.. Fan-ah.... I...I don't feel so safe here..." Liwei whispered, glancing around the streets.

Qian just blinked at this. "go back inside and lock the door. It's not that bad out here.."

"no, the dark.. it's frightening. Can I please stay with you... please... please... I beg of you. I will stay in a corner and you won't even notice me."

Fan Xui coldly looked into his eyes.

His friend Qian seems to have gone soft at the sight of his tears. This has always been the case. Liwei will shed a tear and Qian takes pity on him.

Fan Xui sighed. "Qian, you said you wanted a place to crash right. Stay at Liwei's,"

"no!" Liwei objected immediately. "my.. my place is very... dirty and moldy..."

Qian glanced back at the pure white paint on the walls. "Are you sure? It looks clean though.."

"Just for a few days..." Liwei clung to his arms, looking up at him with his tear-filled eyes.

"Fine," Qian looked at Fan.

Fan Xui sighed once again. "let's get going then."

"oh you both go on, I will meet Peng Peng," he dashed over to the nearby house which was super close to Liwei's house.

"Peng Peng? Who is that?" Liwei weirdly looked at his retreating back. He swiftly held Fan's hands gently. "The road is very uneven. I will lead you back~"

Fan Xui removed his hands out of his hold. "It's okay, I have to adapt to it,"

Subtly, he noticed Liwei gritting his teeth. 'ah.... this guy is really troublesome.'

As they were walking, he noticed Qian, who was still standing anxiously outside the house.

"He is not opening the door. Fan, help me break it open!" he nervously pranced around.

Fan Xui walked close and so did Liwei.

When they were close to Qian, Liwei rushed to him and held his hands. "Don't worry, everything will be okay,"

"I hope so...." he knocked once again. "Peng Peng, please.. if you hear me please open the door,"

"go away!" a shout came from inside.

"Peng Peng ah~ are you angry that I did not take you out for a date... I'm so sorry. Ill make up for it. I swear, baby. Just open the door. Let me take a look at your cute face. Please..."

Silence was the answer he got.

Taking this chance, Liwei leaned close and whispered, "maybe... maybe he needs to be left alone. Don't force him..."

"I'll come back... tomorrow... take care. Eat well," Qian gently caressed the door and walked away.

An accomplished smile lit up on Liwei's face as he led Qian away.

Fan Xui sighed louder. 'So annoying....'
