Chapter 358 358 - New Family Members

"Human who was fed on zombie brains?!!…. Did she mutate in any way? Did she have any zombie like features? rotting or any smell?" Prisitsky scooted close to them.

Fan pushed him away and into Hary, who was right behind Prisitsky's open arms. "Did you forget you are sick? You can't overdo your work. Take rest. Hary take care of him,"

Prisitsky growled loudly as he struggled in Hary's arms. "Let go, you bastard! I have to research this new specimen. Let go of me!" he bit into Hary's arm.

But Hary remained motionless. He tightly hugged his waist and lifted him up.

"Ah! You, let go of me. Why aren't you listening to me. I hate you! Let go!"

Hary wordlessly carried him out of that isolation cell into the one beside it and closed the door.

"Hary looks pissed. do you think he will be okay?" Yue whispered softly.

"They will be fine." Tian shrugged. "Hary knows when to hold back."

This assured Yue. He slumped into his lover arms with Chen in between them. The young kid was looking up at them with a small smile on his face.

"what's got you grinning like that," he pinched his chubby cheeks.

"I'm just happy you are safe," he mumbled, hugging Yue's waist tightly.

"of course, I would be safe. I went with your aunt. don't you know how powerful she is?" He gently kissed the top of his head.

Chen grinned up at him again. "I know. I aspire to be as strong as her"

"Wow I'm hurt," Fan mumbled, pulling Chen closer. "don't you want to be as strong as your father?"

"Nope, you are not as cool as aunt and uncle Hary,"

Fan gazed at Yue with a pout. "Our son doesn't find me cool. What do I do?"

"Aww, your father is cool too Chen. Didn't you see how he attacked those bad men with his thunderbolt?"

Chen shrugged. "yeah, but I find fire to be quite awesome."

Fan sighed. "He is beyond redeemable at this point,"

As they were chatting, Zou Nui watched them with a small smile and so did Murong Jia. Her crazed eyes had turned clear. She peered at her daughter and then at the children who were talking with themselves.

"Nui… he…"

"he is my son," Zou Nui held her bony hands softly. "And your grandson. And the girl beside him is your granddaughter,"

The old lady's eyes widened ever so slightly. "my.. granddaughter. She's alive… she's alive,"

Sensing their gazes, tian peered at them. She cast a small smile at her mother, but decided to ignore the old lady's shimmering eyes. "I'll go help uncle wen,"

"Tian, wait a bit," Zou Nui stood up, but before she could stop, her tian was out the door like the wind.

Yue gazed at her pointedly and shook his head. "Mum, don't, she doesn't want to."

"But she is your grandmother," Nui mouthed to him with a loud sigh.

Yue shook his head.

Murong Jia who had regained clarity, gazed at him intensely. "You have grown up a lot. The last I saw you, you were wearing a beautiful red dress and strut into the banquet with that blond guy…" she said with tears in her eyes. "The moment I laid eyes on you I knew you were my blood… I begged shao to take me to see you… I missed you." The old lady gazed at her daughter with tears dripping down her face. "I missed you, Nui."

"oh mum…" Nui hugged her tightly.

Seeing all this emotional scene Yue did not feel anything. to be honest, he did not feel that much of an attachment to his grandmother or his cousin. But he respected them both.

"Who is that?" Chen softly whispered into his ear.

Yue gently hugged Chen. "That is apparently your great-grandmother."

"Apparently?"

"it's complicated."

"What about the one on the bed?" Chen pointed to shao.

"That is my cousin, so he is your uncle."

"I have an uncle too?"

"Yeah, you do."

Chen pulled away from the hug and sat on the ground. His small fingers were fidgeting together anxiously.

"What is it dear?" Yue softly whispered.

"n-nothing dad… I.. I'll go and Chen on uncle Hary." He stood up but Fan grabbed his hand.

"You are going nowhere alone. Sit down, Chen. Tell me what is wrong."

Chen bit his lips and sat down. "I…"

"If you don't feel comfortable saying it out loud, just whisper it into my ears."

Chen hesitantly moved close and whispered something in Fan's ears.

Yue was anxious to listen in, but he knew he had to be patient. 'I'll just ask Fan later…'

After Chen had finished his whisper, Fan gazed at him with a soft smile. "Everything will be fine. Why don't you join your grandfather and your sister there," he gestured to Zou Wei who was holding their precious daughter, Zara.

Zi Chen nodded and dashed off to his grandfather.

Zou Wei hugged him with one arm and delicately hugged the sleeping baby with another.

Seeing that he was out of earshot Yue glanced at his husband. "What is bothering Chen so much? I've never seen him so downcast like this,"

"He is just uncomfortable with new family members. We need to have a good talk with him alone."

Yue frowned deeply at the young age of three, Zi Chen lost his only family, and after that when Yue took him in. initially he thought that the kid will have trouble mingling with them. to their surprise Zi Chen blended with their family so easily. he never gave them any trouble, never misbehaved.

Sometimes it was so worrying seeing him being such a good boy.

but now that Zi Chen was actually showing his real feelings, Yue was stunned. he pulled Fan close. "How uncomfortable? is he only uncomfortable with just the Murong's? what about us? he doesn't hate us right? Right now, he refused to even tell me. he told you! does he hate me.."

Fan chuckled softly and kissed his lips. "Well, its cuz they are your family. he must have thought that you might hate him if he said that out loud to you."

"Bullshit, I will never hate my child. he is my baby,"

fen pinched his cheeks. "Now all you have to do is tell him this." he gestured for Chen to come close.

Chen ran over to them with an awkward look on his face. "dad… I.."

Yue pulled him close and hugged him tightly. "I would never hate you; you can tell me anything. even if you hate them, it's okay. I don't like them much either,"

"Yue!" his mum glared at him. "don't be rude to your grandmother,"

"Sorry mum, I can accept them into our family but I don't feel so good acting all chummy chummy with them." he got up with Chen in his arms. "I'll see what's Qian up to,"

the isolation cells were all occupied by only their people. he walked to the cell close to theirs. inside Qian and Peng Peng were silently glaring at each other and in the middle was a huge white specimen box spread out. inside there was a tree bark of some kind which was encased in glass

"What is up guys?"

Peng Peng's head shot up instantly. "Yue oh thank God you are here. tell this stupid guy not to open it! This is the reason Prisitsky is sick. what if it's contagious?"

"But that stupid Prisitsky will die if I don't research on this!"

"You will die if you open it!"

"Yue! tell him not to," "Yue, tell him it's fine,"

both shouted looking at him intently.

Yue backed away slightly. "um….. ah did you guys hear that? tian is calling for me…" he did not wish to get in between lovers' fight.

"Yue," Qian gave him a pointed look.

Yue sighed softly. "Listen, that thing is dangerous. I won't ask you to risk yourself. no one will ask you to. just… you do what you want to do."
