Chapter 76

Chapter 76: Fighting The Humanoid Demons (6)

With one annoying demon down, Robus continued his way forward and soon met the two other physical demons, the long claw demon, and the insect wing demon.

Different from the skeletal demon who launched its body forward and fought alone, the two remaining demons seemed to have been used to working together as they came at Robus at the same time from two different angles.

One from the top, flying, and one from the ground, running. With neither of the two going too fast from the other as if they were still covering each other even though they were currently on the offensive side.

Of course, being closer to him, Robus locked his eyes on the long claw demon that ran on the ground and made it his target.

The long claw demon ran in a straight line, and Robus was already prepared to swing his fist again to deal with the creature.

But before Robus was able to launch his fist and slammed it into the claw demon’s head, his vision was suddenly obstructed by something, preventing him from continuing his attack, and he instead jumped backward, following his instinct and reflex that told him to do so.

Robus didn’t know what was the thing that suddenly covered his face, but his years of experience told him to dodge backward to react to the sudden unknown disturbance.

.....

And when he finally gained some distance from his last location, Robus finally saw the insect wing demon that had dived down from above and covered his face earlier.

Robus might not have felt it because it was such a minor force, but the insect wing demon did try to scratch Robus’ face when it obstructed Robus face before.

However, the dark earth armor just did its job for being an armor very well and added with the fact that Robus instantly jumped backward that the insect wing demon’s attempt to damage Robus was really for naught.

But the duo’s attack didn’t seem to be ending at that as the moment the insect wing demon misses its attack, the claw demon went past the insect wing demon and headed straight toward Robus’ direction with its long claws winded back, ready to be slashed downward as hard as it could.

If it was any other inexperienced and low-leveled demon, they would be having trouble dealing with the sudden barrage of attacks from the duo of the insect wing demon and the long claw demon.

But Robus, even before meeting Blake, had been fighting for his life a lot of times and regaining his balance after a dodge was almost a natural thing for him to do.

And when Robus saw the long claw demon was moving straight at him, ready to slash him, Robus quickly repositioned his body and raised his trunk of a hand upward at a perfect angle that enabled him to block the two long claws with just one of his arms.

The long claw demon saw Robus’ huge arm blocking his way and it was possible for the claw demon to adjust the angle of its attack slightly, but the long claw demon knew how strong its claws were.

And the long claw demon also knew that abruptly changing the direction of its attack would only result in the strength of its attack diminishing.

Such a thing happening would be anything other than a good thing to happen considering the long claw demon had seen how the insect wing demon’s attack and the skeletal wing demon’s charge had been ignored as if it was nothing but a little poke.

Which was why the long claw demon decided to just go all out and pour all of its strength to try and do as much damage as possible to the huge gorilla’s arm.

However, the long claw demon couldn’t be more dumbfounded when its claws finally slashed Robus’ dark earth armor as the claws that had never failed to slash through its opponent or at least severely damage them could do nothing more than just leaving white-ish scratch marks on the huge gorilla’s arm.

Unfortunately for the long claw demon, the shock that literally ran through its spine when it realized how useless its claws were, resulted in something that it would never forget in its entire life.

The long claw demon spent a whole second staring at Robus’ unmoving and undamaged arms and also its own claws.

And Robus didn’t have a plan to wait a full second to be doing his counterattack.

Using the arm that was already so close to the long claw demon, Robus quickly snapped his hand forward and grabbed the long claw demon’s head with his huge palm that could easily fit even the long claw demon’s torso.

The long claw’s demon shock was suddenly turned to terror as it felt its skull being squeezed from all sides by a huge palm that was covered in black brownish rocks.

With nothing that it could do, the long claw demon started flailing its arms everywhere and slashing its claws again and again to attack the huge rocky arms that didn’t even budge when being rammed by the skeletal wing demon at full speed.

If the long claw demon’s full powered attack only resulted in white-ish marks across the dark earth armor, then its perfunctory attack would do even less, only leaving small white-ish dots from the sharp edge of the long claw.

Seeing how one of them had practically been put in death’s door, the remaining humanoid demon, at least the ones that were still able to move their bodies, started making their way to try and save the long claw demon.

And from the initial five humanoid demons that came to the forest, the skeletal wing demon, the insect wing demon, the long claw demon, the greenish demon, and the brownish demon, only two were able to do it, which were the insect wing demon and the brownish demon.

And from the two of them, only the former could really have the time and chance to try and save the long claw demon as the latter had its own problem to deal with.

And it was none other than dealing with another demon mage that could cast spells four times faster than itself, which had also incapacitated the greenish demon earlier.
