Chapter 186 - 186 Fighting The Muscular Demon (1)

186 Fighting The Muscular Demon (1)

“Are you the one who was responsible for all this?”

The muscular demon was literally frozen in his tracks when he felt another death of his kin earlier. And after studying the feeling that he felt, the muscular demon found out that the one that had died this time was none other than the forest green humanoid demon, the humanoid demon that he had just met about a few dozen minutes ago.

The muscular humanoid demon then instantly ditched the entourage of humanoid demons back in the forest while he flew back at full speed to see what had happened to the base. And more importantly, to see who was responsible for killing yet another one of his kin.

He was too late before and he only saw ruins back in the base that neared the sea since he was too far away back then. However, now that he was close, the muscular humanoid demon knew that he couldn’t miss the chance to see who was responsible for defeating his kin. And how did they do it considering he and his kin had come from the deeper demon realms.

Although their full strength was sealed to make it possible for them to exist in the first realm, there shouldn’t be many demons in the first demon realm that would be able to fight them on equal standings, much less defeat them.

Using his wings, the muscular humanoid demon arrived back at the base in just minutes, seeing the dark flames and the ruined buildings from afar, the base that he saw about an hour ago had long been lost, turned to ruins.

And when he stood at the front gate, the charred buildings and half-destroyed structures couldn’t be more similar to his eyes as it was the exact same scene that he saw back on the sea base.

The scene in front of him had already made no sense to his mind, 3 different species of demons working together and seemingly having the intelligence to work together as a team despite the two of the three demons in front of him being a demonic beast and a variant type demon.

The latter was unpredictable and it wasn’t impossible for variants to work together with humanoid demons, but the former was practically impossible to happen in the first demon realm where all that the demonic beasts got was their instincts.

.....

The most unaggressive act they would do when seeing a humanoid demon was to stay away from them if they could feel the humanoid demon was stronger than them. Never in history that a demonic beast in the first demon realm would actively work together with a demonic beast.

However, what was more baffling for the muscular humanoid demon other than the absence of the contract’s mark on the jet-black humanoid demon’s soul was his answer and his act towards him.

“Yes, we were the ones who did this.”

The jet-black humanoid demon said those words without a single fear in his being, even challenging the muscular humanoid demon by directly staring at his eyes.

After living in the first demon realm for about a year, being feared and respected by literally everyone around him, even his kin, this was the first time in a long time that the muscular demon felt his authority was challenged.

It didn’t take long for the muscular humanoid demon’s mouth to curl up into a smile as he felt the deviance of the jet-black humanoid demon.

“Let’s see if you can still talk like that when we’re done.”

Those words were clearly a threat no matter what kind of perspective you have hearing it and no matter how nice of a tone it was said with. And that threat had been instantly registered in Blake’s mind.

Blake sent his nether to the rune formations on his left hand, a rune formation that was a combination of Vera’s darkness binding spell and the flying humanoid demon’s darkness pillar binding spell.

Blake was only one step away from throwing the spell to his front when he suddenly felt chills on his spine.

His eyes that were locked onto the muscular humanoid demon only saw the demon take a casual step forward before a literal blur was flying directly towards him.

Blake could actually react to the sudden move of the muscular humanoid demon, but that would only be the case if he was ready for it.

But now, right when his plan to throw the rune formations at the muscular humanoid demon was canceled due to him being caught off guard, was not the time where he could make a proper reaction.

Blake shifted his body and kicked against the ground. Dodging was the only thing he could do in a situation where he was too late to do any other thing. Even from the speed of the blur, Blake doubted that his dodge would make it in time.

‘It would probably numb my body, but I won’t receive actual damage.’ His mind quickly concluded as he placed his trust in the dark earth armor and made sure that he would be releasing the activated rune formation on his hand.

Even when the blur was only a few steps away from him, Blake didn’t close his eyes and readied himself to do his counterattack, bracing himself for a possible large impact on his body.

However, the impact that he had expected never came to him.

From his side, another blur, at least twice as big as the blur that the muscular humanoid demon had turned to, suddenly entered his vision and headed straight to the muscular humanoid demon.

In the next split second, a resounding dull sound filled the surroundings as the two blurs finally became clear.

The muscular humanoid demon’s fist was stopped by another fist, twice as big as his own. Robus had used his over-the-top reflex and high physique stat to jump in front of Blake, blocking the muscular humanoid demon who had targeted him.

With the two hands clashing against each other, it was evident that their strength was equal since none of the two had backed down ever since the initial clash.

The power that the huge gorilla possessed had made the muscular humanoid demon taken aback. But it didn’t take long for the latter to recover as he knew more than anyone how strong a demonic beast could be.

Their absurdly insane strength made it possible to defeat one of his kin from the deeper realms using physical strength alone and their bloodline power that complemented their strength, the strong demonic beasts with a strong bloodline power could be as dangerous as a calamity type variant.

However, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t feel any fear in his heart. It was simply because he was also one such being.

“Let’s see which one of us is stronger!”

Knowing their strength was about equal, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t waste any time and was about to activate his bloodline power.

Sending his nether to the runes inscribed in his body, it would only take a moment for the bloodline power to activate.

However, the muscular humanoid demon suddenly stopped focusing on his body and looked at his feet.

A wooden ball had stuck his feet. But the thing that caught his attention, just like how it happened with the other humanoid demons from the deeper realms, was not the actual wooden ball. It was the glowing demonic runes present around the wooden ball.

The muscular humanoid demon didn’t know what kind of spell was contained inside the rune formation, but his experience fighting with runemasters before kicked in, forcing his body to ditch everything and funneled his effort into getting away from the unknown rune formation that had appeared out of nowhere.

Kicking the ground with a strength that was even more powerful than before, the muscular humanoid demon had literally blinked to the side, or at least that was what had happened in Blake’s eyes.

The huge body of the muscular humanoid demon just disappeared, a blur shot to the side, before then the muscular humanoid demon’s body reappeared at that spot.

That distance was enough for the muscular humanoid demon to completely dodge his spell, and with Robus being the only one who was right on top of the spell, potentially being caught in it, Blake quickly drew the runes to dispel any darkness construct, breaking apart the combination darkness binding spell before it was able to fully manifest.

Right after dodging the sudden unknown rune formation, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t go back into fighting right away like when he found out Robus’ strength rivaled his.

This time, he was really baffled as his eyes froze on the jet-black humanoid demon who he clearly saw had dispelled the rune formation that was about to manifest.

It could only mean one thing when the jet-black humanoid demon could do it. The jet-black humanoid demon was a runemaster.

He came from the second demon realm, and the number of humanoid demons there that came from the first demon realm by descending the realms was not few.

From them, the muscular humanoid demon knew that there was not a single runemaster from the first demon realm. And it raised a huge question in his head about the origin of the jet-black humanoid demon.

And when he started to think about it, the question became even bigger as he realized that he heard the jet-black humanoid demon talk earlier, and it wasn’t how the native of the first demon realm had talked.

The voice that came out of the jet-black humanoid demon’s mouth was clear just like him and the other humanoid demons from his realm.

A solid 5 seconds had passed ever since Blake dispelled his rune formation, and the first thing that the muscular humanoid demon did was not attack him, but rather gave him the same question that he heard earlier from the forest green humanoid demon.

“Who are you?”
