Chapter 207 - 207 Preparations

207 Preparations

Flying past the dark earth walls that he created and hovering in the sky using his wings, Blake’s eyes were greeted by the sight of hundreds of soul orbs floating above hundreds of corpses.

Blake was not 100% sure about what had happened. But if he were to make a guess, then it would surely be that the demons in the horde of the necromancer had lost their lives the moment the necromancer died.

It would make sense since the conditions of the demons in the horde already looked dead in the beginning, with the necromancer’s ability seemingly being the force that made it possible for the dead demons to still move their bodies. If the force that made their souls still intact inside their bodies was gone, then it would make sense if the soul would then leave the body without it.

“Brother!” A girly voice called out to Blake before several explosions were heard.

Shooting herself up with explosions, Cyra soon caught up with Blake and went straight flying beside him. Seeing that Cyra had to keep on creating small explosions to keep up with him, Blake quickly went closer to her and wrapped his hand around her waist once again, holding her in his arm so that she would not have to waste her nether.

“Wow… There are so many souls…” Cyra stared at the sight below her with sparkling eyes. Blake had taught her that the floating orbs that she got after killing demons were called souls, and she had already known herself that eating souls would make it easier for her to control her flames and produce more flames. Basically, it was the same case as Robus knowing eating souls could make his body bigger and muscles stronger.

So when she saw souls literally littered on the ground, she quickly said, “Let’s eat, brother! Maybe I could make fire walls as huge as the one you created if I eat this many souls!”

“Sure.” Blake instantly replied as he already had that thought from the beginning. “Let’s pick up Robus first,” Blake continued saying before tilting his wings and gliding towards the gorilla’s direction.

Just as he told the gorilla, Robus was still inside the forest, killing the undead demons, tens and dozens of them while he was fighting against the necromancer.

.....

And when the necromancer was finally killed and the demons that he fought suddenly fell down like a puppet that lost their strings, Robus went on a feeding frenzy for a while before abruptly stopping to check on his best friend first.

Robus leaped forward, ignoring the free souls that littered the ground everywhere like dirt, and headed straight toward Blake’s direction. Feeling that Blake had also moved closer to him, Robus aimed his leap slightly above, jumping above the trees so that he would be able to see Blake if he flew in the sky.

And after a single leap above, Robus saw a black dot in the sky. Using the connection that he had with him, Robus instantly knew that the Blake dot was none other than Blake and his new little friend.

While Robus saw a black dot in the sky, Blake also saw a huge creature appearing above the trees, jumping up before coming back down into the forest. But that was enough for Blake to know that it was Robus as it would be hard to mistake his building-sized gorilla friend for something else.

Blake then dived down, slowing down a little when he was about to reach the top of the trees, then landed on the ground smoothly as his wings put as much air drag as possible to slow his body down.

The first thing that Blake did after landing was to observe his gorilla friend. Noticing that the dark earth armor that Robus wore only had several chipped parts without any real damage being done to Robus’ body, Blake heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that his plan didn’t hurt Robus.

He decided on this plan in the first place because he believed Robus would not be in danger considering the undead demons would be spread out and the demons in the front and middle of the horde seemingly didn’t have the ability to cast spells.

And in a fistfight, who could beat Robus? Blake himself could not even put a scratch on him if Blake were to fight his gorilla best friend using his fist only. He trusted that Robus would be more than just alright in the fight against tens of undead demons at the same time. But after confirming it with his own eyes, Blake couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief, knowing that he didn’t make a mistake.

Blake then looked at Cyra, seeing she also did not have a single scratch on her body, Blake nodded as he rubbed the little demoness’ head.

She had done very well, the reason he could defeat the necromancer without much effort was because of her following his instructions and separating the wolf from the necromancer.

If the wolf was still present, then it would be hard for Blake to aim the second realm darkness bullet spell as he would not even be able to follow the wolf’s movement if it had activated its bloodline ability and charged its body with lightning.

But with the wolf gone and the necromancer being essentially crippled, Blake did not even have to bother aiming his second realm darkness bullet as the necromancer couldn’t even react to it as it pulverized the necromancer’s head, not even leaving a piece of his skull left, erasing it from existence.

‘All of this would be impossible without them…’ Blake thought to himself.

Robus might have not done a lot in the fight against the necromancer, but if he was absent in the fight with the muscular humanoid demon, then he and Cyra would have definitely suffered without someone in the team that could not properly exchange fists with the muscular humanoid demon.

Blake was almost knocked out with a single uppercut to his chin, proving a single moment of letting his guard down would be fatal without Robus taking the muscular humanoid demon’s attention.

Comparing his past self with his current self, the past Blake certainly would not even be aware of how beneficial it was to have people on his side, people that would fight for him and help him to achieve his goals.

But now that he has one, Blake knows that he needs to always keep them on his side.

Looking at his two friends again and keeping his gaze for a few seconds, Blake smiled before he turned his head towards the nearest floating soul orb.

“Let’s eat to our heart’s content folks!”

Floating really high above the sky was another demon that had a scrawny build. He had not flown that high before, but when he saw the jet-black humanoid demon open up his wings and flew, the scrawny demon hurriedly flew higher, avoiding being seen by the jet-black humanoid demon.

His initial goal was just to observe the scene unveiling as the necromancer and its horde that he had led here to deal with the muscular humanoid demon somehow find itself being fought by another humanoid demon that didn’t relate to him at all.

The scrawny humanoid demon had seen how the muscular humanoid ran with his tail tucked between his legs. And the one that was responsible for doing it to the muscular humanoid demon was none other than the jet-black humanoid that had fought the necromancer.

He was just initially curious, but after seeing the whole undead demon horde suddenly stopped moving as if they were puppets that had their strings cut loose, the scrawny humanoid demon’s interest that was already peaked due to the muscular humanoid demon being defeated, had once again doubled, making the scrawny humanoid demon put the jet-black humanoid demon in the top of the list of demons that he should watch out for.

If the deaths of two of his kin were not enough to make the scrawny humanoid demon wary of the jet-black humanoid demon, who was most likely to be the one who was responsible for killing the two of them since no one else would have the capabilities to do so in the first demon realm, then the current sight that he saw with his own eyes were definitely enough to do it.

He didn’t know what had happened that caused the hundreds of undead demons to suddenly stop moving and the necromancer itself to have lost consciousness, but the fact that the jet-black humanoid demon was capable of doing it was all that he needed to know to be careful of him.

The scrawny humanoid demon stayed until he finally saw yet another surprising thing.

He wasn’t close enough to see what kind of spell the jet-black humanoid demon had cast. But the scrawny humanoid demon was a demon mage and also a runemaster, he was sensitive to nether. And at that moment, the scrawny humanoid demon felt an unthinkable amount of nether gathered to manifest the jet-black humanoid demon’s spell.

He was too far away to see what spell it was, but he knew that even he, himself, did not have a single spell that used that much nether to manifest. At least that was the case now that he was in the first demon realm, not in his own realm where spells of that caliber were common.

The scrawny humanoid demon’s stay then finally came to an end when the necromancer was defeated, releasing the souls of the demons that he had made into undead.

The scrawny humanoid demon’s strength was already maxed out in this realm since he came from the deeper realms, and eating the souls below him would not benefit him as it would even give complications for him if the seal put in his body would ever weaken and his true strength broke out from the seal.

If that were to happen, he would be slowly dying due to the nether in the first demon realm couldn’t sustain his body that needed the nether in the second demon realm to survive.

Although the scrawny humanoid demon certainly did not get what he wanted from leading the necromancer and its army here, and the muscular humanoid demon was still alive in the end, the scrawny humanoid demon wasn’t pissed off by it because he got something out of it.

And that was the information about a dangerous entity that he needed to watch out for. He had stayed for the whole fight, seeing the allies of the jet-black humanoid demon, his and his allies’ abilities, the level of intelligence, and the things that he should watch out for such as the attack spell that needed an absurd amount of nether to manifest.

With him being a runemaster, he knew that enough preparations were all that he needed to defeat the unknown jet-black humanoid demon.

‘I should begin my preparations as soon as possible in the case that the humanoid demon comes to the base…’ With this thought, the scrawny humanoid demon flew away, leaving the jet-black humanoid demon and his allies eating the hundreds of souls that were scattered all over the forest.
