Chapter 237 - 237 Venturing Inside (4)

237 Venturing Inside (4)

“What? Where did the tree go?”

“It went into my dimensional bag,” Vera said as she pointed at the back behind her that was at least three times bigger than the dimensional pouch that she and Blake carry on their waist.

“Wow… Can you teach me how to make one for myself??”

It took him quite an effort to fit a beast’s carcass onto his dimensional pouch and that includes butchering and severing some parts so that it could fit. Just putting a few metal constructs to bring the whole thing to his dimensional bag with ease would be very helpful for him.

“Sure. You need my blood to make spatial element equipment though. So we should do it later at a safer place.”

“Ah… Do we have to really use your blood?” Thinking that the things that he would be wearing would contain his dear teacher’s blood didn’t sit right with Blake.

“Well, if you could find other demons with the space element affinity, then we could use their blood instead.”

“Yes, let’s just do that. I don’t want to use your blood for my experiment…”

“That’s a good mindset to have for your teacher,” Vera patted Blake’s head after she flew down from above the turtle’s shell.

.....

To combat the inconspicuous blush that Blake had after the pat, Blake quickly extended his hand to give back the turtle’s soul to Robus. He had left it when Vera asked for his help to uproot the tree.

But when given back the soul, Robus shook his head. “r.”

“I don’t think I need any more souls, I have already gathered enough. I only need to finish getting this thing we’re traveling to get to finish my evolution.” Blake said as he held the soul in his hand.

“Can we give this to Cyra instead? It seemed she is still far away from her

evolution.”

Robus then nodded his head and said, “T...Take it… Little one…”

“Thanks, big uncle!” Without much reserve, Cyra quickly gobbled up the soul and the group then continued their journey deeper into the nether rich zone.

On their way, they met a couple more gigantic turtles, which led to Vera collecting 4 more trees complete with the fruits hanging off of their branches, making her more than just eager to quickly start her research on those trees.

She might not need that much money or currency in her hands and she didn’t have any plans to spend lavishly on stuff in the shallower realms than her own, but certainly, having the capital to do whatever she wanted would feel much better rather than just not doing it because she didn’t have the capability to do it.

And if those trees could really consistently produce the nether fruits, then it would already be guaranteed that their group would be amongst one of the richest demons in the whole second nether realm and quite well-off individuals in the third demon realm when they finally go there.

“Brother, is it still far away?”

“Yes, Blake, how long do we have to keep walking?” Cyra and Vera respectively asked. The former had become bored with Robus one-shotting their enemies while the latter was getting quite impatient wanting to spend quality time with the trees that they just got.

Being the subject of their questions, Blake focused on the connection that the system had embedded in him and gauged the feeling to get a rough calculation of how far they still needed to go to reach the item that he was looking for.

It was rather hard for Blake to do it since the system didn’t have a compass that told him the precise numbers, but by matching the feeling that he currently felt and the ones that he felt before, Blake finally made a very rough guess. “I think it’s already quite close. It’s about the same distance that we have walked in this nether rich zone so far.”

“Do you guys just want to run as fast as you could there? I will fly with Cyra, Vera will fly alone, and Robus will continue leaping forward.”

“We could arrive rather quickly if we do that. But that would mean we’re more prone to danger if we didn’t observe our surroundings closely. And furthermore, we might miss more of those fruits and trees if we fly above,” Blake weighed the pros and cons, sharing it with the group for them to make a decision.

But in the end, they decided to continue their usual walking pace as Vera knew that being careless was something that they couldn’t afford to do in an unknown land and Cyra just followed her brother’s decision despite her feeling a little bored.

As they continued their journey, the group didn’t see any more of the turtles as the barren land completely lived up to its title, being completely desolate from anything. Which made Cyra even more bored than before.

Fortunately for her though, her wish for entertainment came true not too long after the group didn’t see any of the turtles anymore.

This time, instead of spotting something on the far edge of their vision, what the group felt instead was the ground beneath their feet trembling.

At first, Blake was wary of an earthquake or another huge creature like the turtle coming from beneath them, but as the tremble continued and the strength increased as more time passed, Blake realized that the tremble was caused by none of his first two guesses.

Blake was rather certain about that as he was quite familiar with the trembling feeling that he currently felt.

“Vera, can you please fly higher and look all around us? See if there’s anything approaching us on the horizon or anywhere else.”

“Sure.” Vera then flapped her wings and flew up easily using her pair of wings.

‘I wish these wings would develop soon so that I could also fly easily…’ Blake thought to himself as he moved his disproportionate wings on his back.

Using the explosions worked, but it would be impossible to use his explosions if Blake ever wanted to fly in an area where he didn’t want to destroy the surroundings.

An explosion strong enough to propel him, a man-sized humanoid demon was certainly not small. Using it recklessly in a forest could easily cause a forest fire, something that he didn’t want to happen if he ever wanted to sneak in on his enemies.

Vera did a quick circle in the sky above them, and only after a single circle, she hurriedly dived back down and said,

“A horde of demonic beasts were charging their way straight towards our direction,”
