Chapter 242 - 242 I Got That Covered

242 I Got That Covered

“F...For you, little one.” Robus beckoned Cyra to eat the scattered souls of the bison that he had just defeated. He knew from Blake’s and Vera’s explanation that he and Blake had eaten enough souls and only the little energetic demoness needed more souls for herself since she hadn’t evolved yet.

“Thank you very much, uncle!” Without any reserve, Cyra went right into the swallowing part, shoving as many souls down her mouth as possible since she didn’t want to be left out by her brother and uncle when all two of them had finally evolved and left for the next realm.

Getting left alone was once enough for her, Cyra didn’t want it to happen again. She didn’t waste any second doing anything other than going through all the souls that were scattered on the barren lands where Robus fought.

The only time she would stop grabbing souls and putting them in her mouth was to check whether Blake, Robus, and Vera were still there waiting for her or not.

Making sure they never went out of her vision and at the same time also preparing herself to cast the biggest explosion ever to propel herself into their direction as fast as possible just in case a dark portal would suddenly appear and swallow them just like last time.

And of course, the three of them patiently waited for the little demoness to finish eating the scattered souls that numbered only slightly less than a hundred.

“Congratulations on your ability evolving.” Blake patted Robus’ foot. He wanted to pat his shoulder, but to do that, he would need to either fly first or climb onto Robus’ tall body, so he settled with the guy’s foot instead.

“r.”

“Can you make other things with your newly evolved ability though? Or can you only make a spear?”

.....

“Rr.” (I don’t know what else I should make with it)

“Hmm… That’s correct… I don’t think making a gauntlet would be useful either considering the original dark earth armor already does that for you.”

“Well, you should try experimenting with it to unearth all of its potential.”

“r.”

After only a few minutes of constantly running around, even using her explosions to move faster, Cyra finally came back to the group with all the floating souls all around them gone, disappearing right into her little stomach.

“How do you feel, Cyra?” Blake asked, wondering whether she would finally evolve after eating so many souls.

Although he didn’t know how many souls each of the bison souls gave, considering their strength that could survive for some time after being burned by his dark flame, far longer than the common weak demonic beasts that only gave 3 to 4 souls from each soul, the dozens of bison should have given the little demoness at least 300 to 400 souls.

Which was more than enough for two ordinary level-ups even if Cyra was already above level 10.

“I feel my strength has increased three times, brother!” Cyra gleefully said as she felt herself walking a step closer catching up to her brother and uncle.

However, after saying those words with a smile on her face, her curled-up mouth slowly returned to a flat line as her brows turned downcast. “But I don’t think I can evolve yet…”

“Can you please wait for me before moving to the other realm, brother, uncle, sister…?”

Feeling what she felt in her heart, Blake instantly knew where her fear came from and quickly took a step forward, getting close enough for his arms to reach Cyra.

Pulling the little demoness into a hug, Blake rubbed the back of Cyra’s head gently while saying, “Don’t worry, Cyra. We will wait for you to evolve. We would never descend the realm without you.”

Hearing Blake’s gentle voice and the genuine warm feelings that she felt through her connection with him, the worry and fear clouding her heart started to dissipate as her smile returned to her face.

“I promise I will eat as many souls as possible!” She said as she looked at the three other demons that now accompanied her everywhere she went.

The group then continued their journey inside the nether rich zone, meeting more and more enemies along the way.

There were more hordes of bison, even bigger ones compared to the first one they encountered. But with the prior knowledge of fighting them, the group already know what they needed to do to finish the fight as quickly as possible

With a new strategy in mind, the three people capable of flight did their job as best as they could, dwindling down the numbers of the bison while they were still very far away from their current location.

And when they were finally close enough, Vera and Robus did a joint effort as the former teleported a running bison to the front of the group to break the formation’s charge before the latter also jumped into the fray, using his spears to cause even more chaos, totally breaking down the momentum that the horde of bison had gathered over hundreds of meters running forward.

The bison was old news for the group as they also met a different kind of enemy the more they traveled closer to the place where the system had pointed out.

And instead of feeling the tremble on the ground beneath their feet, the group noticed a fast-moving dark cloud was appearing from the horizon, making its way toward them.

But for the group, especially for Robus who had very good eyesight due to his high physique stat, it didn’t take long for him to find out the dark cloud was none other than a giant flock of birds flying close together, creating the illusion of them being a dark cloud.

The birds were definitely not little birds the size of Blake’s palm, instead, they were birds about half the size of Blake’s whole body. And if it was counted by their wingspan, then they were certainly considered significantly bigger than Blake.

Blake didn’t know what kind of bird they were in the demon realm. But if he were to compare them to the bird that he had seen in an encyclopedia once, he would say that the birds in question looked very similar to the vultures.

The kind of birds that traveled in groups and ate the carcasses of dead animals.

Knowing that he and the others had left behind a very huge number of dead bison carcasses in his trail, Blake thought it made sense that the vultures would be interested in eating them.

“But the question is, are they really going for the carcasses?”

Considering the horde of bison seemed to have a beef with him and his group despite them supposedly being herbivores, or at least that’s what he knew from the bison on earth, Blake doubted that the vultures in the demon realm would also follow the same law of nature as the one back in the human world.

“Of course, this would happen. It should already be expected at this point, right?”

Just as he had guessed after thinking about the bison, the moment the vultures got closer to them, they started diving down slowly, adjusting their trajectory to move closer to him and his group.

Fighting a large number of animals again was certainly a chore for the group, so with an idea popping up in his mind, Blake asked Vera.

“Vera, do you still have that whirlwind rune formation and the fire explosion rune formation that you used to kill the humanoid demons back on the island?”

“Of course, I have some. I always prepared more than necessary just in case something unexpected happened.”

“Can I please borrow those for a sec?” Vera then gave Blake the same-looking boxes that he used back then to kill the humanoid demon groups that chased after him. It was the moment it opened his eyes to using rune formations actively in a fight and encouraged him to make his own rune formations.

Blake then took a good look at the two rune formations, seeing them from all sides and recognizing all the runes inscribed on them. He spent a literal second on the tornado rune formation while he spent three whole seconds on the flame explosion rune formations.

“I got it.” Blake then returned the flame explosion rune formations before asking, “Vera, can we use this rune formation to end this fight early? I feel like we were already very close to the place where I should go.”

Without even spending a second to think, Vera replied, “Of course.”

“Why are you not using the flame explosion rune formation?” She added as she received the flame explosion rune formation back from Blake.

As if to remind her of his bloodline power, Blake gave Vera a cheeky smile on his face as he lifted up one of his fingers.

Before Vera could ask what he wanted to do, Blake sent his fiery nether into the tip of his lifted-up finger. Manipulating the fiery nether to go out of his finger and creating a small dark flame that continuously burned on the tip of his finger.

“I don’t need it. I got that covered myself.”
