247 Finishing The Evolution (1)

———-

+(Evolution) Defeat The Stone Warden!

Due to the host’s unique constitution, the evolution process needed more than just nether of the realm to complete. With the evolution catalyst as the first requirement, the second requirement is a condensed darkness elemental stone that was found in one of the nether rich zones in the first demon realm. The stone was guarded by a warden that Host needed to defeat to acquire the stone. Please defeat The Stone Warden and place the condensed darkness elemental stone in Host’s evolution catalyst to complete Host’s first-ever evolution!

Blake didn’t even get to read the whole thing properly as the second he read the title of the updated quest for his evolution, Blake felt the nether around him begin to tremble as they moved in a certain direction.

And with the title of the new mission that he had just read, it didn’t take Blake longer than a split second to stare at the humanoid demon in front of him and notice the nether going straight into the humanoid demon.

Blake didn’t know what kind of spell the humanoid demon would cast, but he certainly knew that standing in place would not be the best move to do in his current situation.

Blake quickly kicked his feet against the ground, pushing himself back, away from the edge of the slope where the humanoid demon was gathering nether.

Blake stayed back, but he didn’t run away and turned his back on the humanoid demon. Instead of running away, Blake circled around the humanoid demon, getting some distance between himself and the humanoid demon so he could observe the humanoid demon first.

.....

Going into a fight blindly was definitely not his thing, and without his friends to help him cover up his mistakes, Blake wanted to make sure that he didn’t make any fatal mistake that could cost him his life. He now had goals to achieve, and dying was certainly not on that list.

With Blake having gotten out of the humanoid demon’s range, Blake finally took the time to read the details of the updated quest that the system had given him.

Blake had several guesses when he saw the humanoid demon’s peculiar look, but after reading the description of the quest, he could finally confirm that the stone that was placed in the middle of the humanoid demon’s forehead was indeed the condensed darkness elemental stone that he was searching for.

And when Blake thought back about the humanoid demon, something about it had caught Blake’s attention.

Blake didn’t notice it before because he was acting on instinct, but now that he had actually registered what was happening and what he should do, Blake noticed that there was something unusual about the humanoid demon.

The humanoid demon was currently on the edge of his vision, just walking slowly yet surely toward him. The humanoid demon didn’t run or start blasting off spells toward Blake, it just walked slowly, taking each and every step firmly as it made its way towards Blake.

But what Blake wondered about was how the humanoid demon had made the nether around him move earlier when they were close to each other.

At first glance, it wasn’t anything special. Even Blake could make nether surge towards him, a large amount of them at once at that if he cast his second realm darkness elemental spells.

However, that was exactly the reason why Blake thought the humanoid demon with the condensed darkness elemental stone on its forehead was unusual.

Blake felt the nether rushing towards the humanoid demon, but when his eyes landed on the humanoid demon, he didn’t see any runes being written on the humanoid demon’s body nor any runes on his body that could light up and pull nether towards it to activate the humanoid demon’s bloodline power.

The humanoid demon didn’t have any kind of runes on its body, it just looked like the similar dark reddish color that the common demons in the first demon realm had. And so far, Blake had never seen any demons that had a bloodline power without runes on their bodies.

Even the muscular humanoid demon that he knew came from a deeper realm still had his runes inscribed on his back, displayed for everyone to see.

So the question about how the humanoid demon had drawn nether towards it without drawing any runes or activating any bloodline power still stands and it bothered Blake’s mind about how he should approach the situation.

He tried moving around everywhere, circling the humanoid demon from all directions, but he got no reaction whatsoever from it other than the humanoid demon actively trying to walk closer toward him.

Blake tried to find the humanoid demon’s weakness or at least know what was the humanoid demon’s ability so that he could prepare himself for its attack, but he couldn’t get the humanoid demon to make its first move yet.

‘I couldn’t get any information like this. I need to engage it very carefully.’

And with that, Blake decided to finally go closer to the humanoid demon.

Nothing happened when Blake had gotten closer to about 50 meters away from the humanoid demon, but as he finally got close enough, about the same distance that he had with the humanoid demon when the two of them first met, Blake could finally feel changes in the air.

Just like before, Blake felt the nether around him begin to tremble as they rushed toward the humanoid demon. Blake’s instinct told him to back off and get some distance again from the humanoid demon, but Blake knew that he wouldn’t be learning anything if he did that.

So instead of reaching a safe distance to keep himself safe, Blake activated the dark earth armor to cover his whole body, face included, and started drawing a darkness elemental barrier in front of himself.

Blake had expected that whatever it was the peculiar humanoid demon in front of him trying to pull off, it wouldn’t be anything ordinary. But there was not a single chance that Blake could even predict what had actually happened.

At first, Blake could draw his runes just fine, even finishing the set of runes to cast a darkness elemental barrier in under a second. But after the spell had manifested itself, Blake began to notice something unthinkable had actually happened.

The simple darkness barrier spell was made to be as big as Blake’s whole body, making sure that his whole body was protected from anything the humanoid demon wanted to throw at him.

However, when the barrier had only manifested for a single second, Blake noticed that the durability of the barrier began to dwindle at an astonishing rate as if it had taken a barrage of attacks on all sides.

It took Blake more than a second to realize what was happening, but he soon figured that out.

The darkness element that made up the darkness barrier was forcefully taken away from its body, breaking apart the formation of darkness elements that made up the darkness elemental construct.

And although it took Blake quite a while to figure out the darkness elements were leaving his spell, it didn’t take him longer than a turn of his head to find out where the darkness elements had gone to.

And of course, with the humanoid demon doing something unimaginable such as sucking nether without casting a single spell or doing anything else other than just walking, Blake instantly turned his head to the humanoid demon and found that the darkness element that made up his darkness elemental barrier was being sucked by the humanoid demon.

‘What the hell is happening here…?’ Was the first sentence that came to his mind when Blake noticed it, but the other thoughts that would have also popped up in his mind had been forcefully pushed off the moment Blake noticed an abundant amount of darkness element gathering in the hand of the humanoid demon.

After doing nothing but walking and sucking, the humanoid demon finally decided to go on the offense.

Blake once again fought off the urge to just run away again as he finally got what he had come for. Which was seeing the peculiar humanoid demon’s attack.

Realizing his barrier wouldn’t be able to fend off anything, even a tap if he didn’t do anything, Blake began pumping out more of his nether to the darkness barrier, returning the thick dark film that had begun thinning out before.

Right at that moment, the abundant darkness element that gathered on the humanoid demon’s hands finally manifested itself into the world without a single rune existing before it.
