Chapter 2741 New Member

Lereza gazed at Davis with a complex expression look in her eyes.

It was unknown what she was thinking, but the shock she experienced from his suicidal actions could've said to make an impact on her as she stayed silent for a few moments before floating above, pink clouds forming underneath her back as she sat on it.

"What are you talking about? You're still alive, so just rebind the palace."

She shrugged faintly, appearing to be big-hearted.

Indeed, Davis saw that she was big-hearted as he heaved a breath, "Thank you."

"What are you thanking me for? You're being weird, master... of the palace"

"That's right." Davis appeared as though he remembered something, "I should continue to bully you."

"Mhm. Maybe I should reconsider?"

"No, you're stuck with me now."

Davis placed his foot forward as though marking his territory, causing Lereza to giggle, "Since it's decided, don't do anything foolish again. If you die again, I will definitely leave you~"

"Sounds good." Davis also chuckled, thinking that Lereza wasn't bad as her tone contained a trace of warning and goodwill.

She was a bit childish, but that was all as everything else was likable about her as she stuck with him and looked after his people, even giving rewards to them of her own volition even though she insisted she was just following the rules, not to mention also defended him against Deathseeker when things got dicey.

After all this, he was quite comfortable with her presence, making him think that she was the type of guardian he was willing to listen to.

Turning around, he did a head count and noticed that everyone was present except two people.

"Where's Mystic Diviner Hailac and Mistress Zahara? I'm sure they're here in the palace."

He asked, causing a few ladies to smile embarrassedly.

"Aha~ Sorry... I allowed Mistress Zahara inside. She's living a few floors down to us in the living quarters."

Shirley spoke in a soft tone, while Tia also looked like she was caught.

"Uh... I told teacher to stay in my quarters. Was I wrong?" Tia voiced out, appearing to be slightly scared as she joined her hands together and lowered her head.

Davis couldn't help but blink. Clearly, they took the liberty to allow people inside their sacred grounds, but considering who those two were, he really wasn't bothered.

"No, you did well. A life jade wouldn't break unless the life jade itself was intentionally destroyed. It was a good thing that they weren't here. Otherwise, it would be difficult to explain if others came to investigate."

"..."

Everyone didn't know how to feel about this matter as things were going to get lively. After all, his life jades or life tablets should've broken. How were they supposed to explain this matter?

If they saw him alive, would they still believe that he was alive and not possessed?

Davis also thought about this and shrugged, feeling like he could bullshit his way through. After all, he was a master in Death Laws. Who exactly was his peer that they would come to disprove his answers?

Whatever he said, others could only swallow it as the truth. However, he was still thinking of how to play this to his advantage. After all, with his life jades breaking, wouldn't his enemies let their guard down and even start doing something shady?

Thinking about shady matters, Davis couldn't help but look at the beauty before him.

"Mingzhi, what about Rai Zenflame?"

"Rai Zenflame?" A few others instantly had their eyes narrowed, turning to look at Mingzhi.

"Uhm, thanks to Lereza's help, I finished him off after a week of torture. I've also compiled a book on the hundred and eight ways to torment a person, so I'd like to teach everyone that as well."

Mingzhi unceremoniously answered, her low mood also turning for the best as she revealed a satisfied smile. This made the others look at her with a bit of shock, wondering when exactly this happened as they weren't in the know at all.

"Then that's good." Davis smiled.

With this, there were little to no problems he would have to worry about in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace.

"Master," Everlight suddenly called out, causing everyone's attention to shift.

Right now, the respect they held towards her was vast, so they instantly became attentive like they were disciples.

Nonetheless, Everlight didn't shy away but looked at Davis solemnly.

"Master, please let me cast Nine Lives Blessings: Soul Reconstruction technique on you."

"Everlight, I said no already. Don't compel me to act in a manner that's any more harmful to you."

"Then... then... if you die, I would still cast the third level technique Nine Lives Blessings: Grand Resurrection! At that time, not only would I receive an immense amount of karmic burden, but I would also go into a coma and possibly die if your level is too high~"

"You-!"

Davis became stumped as he pointed his finger at her. He could see that Everlight was at Level Nine Immortal Beast Stage. Her next immortal tribulation was already questionable if she would pass, so for her to try and revive him again, even if she crossed to the Immortal King Beast Stage somehow, was basically a death sentence.

Now she was threatening him that if he didn't let her use the Soul Reconstruction Technique and have his soul essence in her azure orb, she would be even more harmed because she would have to use the Grand Resurrection Technique, basically forcing him to choose the first option given to him.

Indeed, Everlight was pretty much stumped about how it cost her three azure orbs to revive him instead of one. This was the case even when they were practically at the same level, so if Davis became an Immortal King and somehow died, she knew that she would have to cast the third level in order to revive him, but the consequence of that was that she could truly die.

She understood very well that her master was too powerful and an Anarchic Divergent for him to be revived multiple times. The heavens wouldn't let her, possibly making her cost more each time she revived him. She knew that the times she could revive him might be limited to no more than two or three with her current strength before she basically died from exhaustion by spending all nine tails.

The nine tails were also her lives. Although each tail contained three azure orbs, each death would cost her three azure orbs to revive herself. After all, she was an Emperor-Tier Beast herself, making her require more essence to revive herself.

Using all twenty-seven azure orbs or expending all nine tails would mean the end of a Nine Lives Gracious Fox's life, but as an Emperor-Tier Immortal Beast, she would only go into a coma, but if the exhaustion was too high, she didn't know what would happen.

She relayed this information to everyone, causing Davis to not know what to say.

If he agreed with her, he could be revived two or three times. If not, it might end with one time. She was basically giving him an ultimatum, causing Davis to lightly laugh as he didn't expect Everlight to be this bold.

Eventually, he heaved a sigh and shook his head.

A few minutes later, Davis left with Lereza to rebind the palace. However, the ladies hadn't dispersed, and he returned, finally heaving a giant sigh as he turned to look at a blonde-haired woman whose stomach didn't seem to be bloated when it should be.

"Sophie... you gave birth already...?"

Davis's voice echoed with a bit of longing and guilt, causing Sophie to purse her lips as she revealed a heartened smile.

"Mhm~"

This also told him more than seven or eight months had passed, making it so that more than three weeks had passed in the outside world.

"I'm sorry for not being with you during labor."

"It's fine. I know you're doing this for us, so level it down a bit and enjoy some time with us if you prefer- actually, I'm being selfish here, but you don't need to heed my words." Sophie wryly smiled, causing Davis to not know what to say once again.

They were too good to him. The urge to meet his child also grew in him, but...

"I just used Destruction Laws and Chaos Laws together, so I'll be careful and not go near the baby for a while. Forgive this fool."

"Oh, no~" Sophie shook her head, "Please don't be like that. No matter how much time it takes, we'll wait."

Davis heaved a breath and gave a heavy nod at Sophie.

His skin, most importantly his left hand, still wreaked with a bit of destruction energy. It was like a remnant hazard that couldn't be washed, or rather, he didn't want to as that might indulge a wrong reaction to happen, accidentally killing him again and harming the people around him.

He imagined that if he left it like that, it should eventually disappear.

Moreover, he found that he needed rest as he couldn't summon his soul body outside. The one that was studying in the Aurora Cloud Gate's Grand Library also disappeared.

Still, he walked over to Sophie before embracing her a bit, giving her some affection. Next, he inquired about Niera and Evelynn about their pregnancy status, coming to know that they still got a long way to go.

Nonetheless, he opened his mouth again.

"Did the celebratory banquet pass by?"

"No. There are still four days left for the banquet. We also received the details and the venue through an invitation. It seems that you're the guest of honor there."

Isabella answered, causing Davis to smile lightly as his mouth cracked.

"Guest of honor? Pfft~"

He couldn't help but start laughing with a sense of doubt as he held his forehead.

Although he couldn't get anything from Rai Zenflame, and neither did Mingzhi, as she didn't seem to report on anything, he knew that something fishy was going on.

Him...? A guest of honor that was meant for his two wives who were inheritors?

Who were they kidding?
