Chapter 30.2

You Look Like the Shameplant (2)

Ji Qingzhou accepted the fact that her clockwork was loose. She leaned against the white stone beside her and rubbed her forehead. She felt a little dizzy because of the depletion of her magic power.

Ye Duanhong stood beside her, holding the score sheet in his hand, watching the disciples who were taking the test behind them, giving them free chances to cast water spells one by one. The design of the pool was very tricky. There were many sensitive bubbles floating in the middle. If the water level rose too fast, it would burst. When a novice learned magic, failure often wasn’t because of insufficient magic power, but because of difficulty in controlling it finely.

Among all the disciples, Ji Qingzhou was the only one who could subtly control the Water Drawing Technique.

Ye Duanhong took the time to glance down at her and noticed that her magic power had been used up. He raised his hand casually, and a wisp of spirit qi blew towards her. As long as Ji Qingzhou absorbed it, she could recover a little magic power.

However, when this wisp of spirit qi hit her, it stopped, and her meridians refused to absorb it.

Everyone’s initial judgment wasn’t wrong in the least. Ji Qingzhou indeed had no immortal bones. Her body was completely closed, and the spirit qi outside could not penetrate her.

However, she had an aptitude in cultivation. How did she cultivate to the second level of Qi Refining?

Ji Qingzhou still had no idea about what Ye Duanhong did. She only felt a gust of wind blowing towards her, but that was it.

“How did you cultivate?” Ye Duanhong’s voice rang cold and severe, which frightened Ji Qingzhou.

How did she cultivate?…Of course… this and that…

Ji Qingzhou was stunned, and then she was reminded of how Shen Rongyu’s divine sense and hers occupied the same cultivation space, along with the red current that completely enveloped her…

She blushed all of a sudden, and lowered her head sharply.

Ye Duanhong saw the fleeting rosy glow on her face. He was quite puzzled, but he didn’t question her any further.

The elders in each class calculate the A, B, C and D scores differently. For example, Mu Ying gave A-grade without discrimination; Jiang Qianke and Qu Ting, the elder in the Beast Mastery Class, gave A-grades to the students who performed outstandingly, according to their performance. Meanwhile, Ye Duanhong gave A-grade to only one person, because, according to him, only the student who had completed the classroom test most perfectly was eligible to receive the highest score.

Qiu Mingxue was too impatient when she was drawing water, and several bubbles in the pool burst. Ying Xiu was absent-minded, and her results were worse than hers. Ye Duanhong gave Ji Qingzhou an A-grade on the score sheet.

Before the Air Control Technique lesson, Qiu Mingxue had always gotten A-grade in the Magic Class. This time, she stood by the pool,  glanced at Ye Duanhong, and then at Ji Qingzhou.

“Elder Ye, after she used the Water Drawing Technique, her magic power was exhausted. If she was fighting against someone, it would be equivalent to her suffering from exhaustion after one move. How can you give her an A-grade?” Qiu Mingxue couldn’t help protesting.

Ye Duanhong paused from writing the scored points on the paper. He raised his eyes, and then revealed a ruthless smirk on his thin lips: “Do you know how Huang Shi massacred cultivators after he escaped from the Ziyuan Tower?”

“One sword move is all it takes to kill someone. You don’t need a second move. When people are dead, what’s the use of a second move?” Ye Duanhong asked Qiu Mingxue, “When Huang Shi became a scourge in the cultivation world, you weren’t born, right?” ”

Qiu Mingxue pointed at Ji Qingzhou, still unable to swallow her grievances, but Ye Duanhong had already waved her away.

When Ji Qingzhou, whose mind blanked out and failed to hear Qiu Mingxue’s complaints, heard that class was over, she immediately jerked up from the white stone she was sitting on and packed up, planning to slip away.

Ye Duanhong stopped her, “Ji Qingzhou, stay behind.”

Ji Qingzhou sighed. She didn’t forget that Ye Duanhong was still one of the suspects who wanted to kill her, and now that he suddenly detained her, she felt a little nervous.

She was afraid that the system’s alarm would suddenly beep. If Ye Duanhong were to kill her here, she would not be able to escape.

Ji Qingzhou was lost in her thoughts, turning her expression a bit dull. Ye Duanhong’s cold voice pulled her back to reality, “When the Water Drawing Technique was at its end, how did you deal with it to prevent the excess water from running out of control due to insufficient magic power?”

“Ah?” Ji Qingzhou didn’t expect Ye Duanhong to ask her such a question after holding back for so long.

The question asked by the elder had to be answered. She lowered her head and rummaged in her small bag, took out the piece of paper she had just calculated, and reviewed her calculation process.

“I reduced the discharge of magic power by three points in advance. The magnitude of the reduction in magic power discharge is related to the amount of water that was drawn out from the start. It needs to be adjusted dynamically. This process can be applied to calculate.” Ji Qingzhou handed over the paper in her hand to Ye Duanhong.

The information she wrote on the paper was very organized. Ye Duanhong was also a cultivator and knew the principles of magic execution, so there was no way he could not even understand such a piece of paper.

He understood, so he was even more surprised, because Ji Qingzhou’s calculation process could only be described as exquisite and unparalleled.  Each step was not redundant, which in turn could ensure the efficiency of controlling magic. The miniature version of the circular pool and the bubbles in the pool she drew on the paper were accurately scaled down.

Ye Duanhong believed that he was a strict and cautious person, but Ji Qingzhou’s calculation method was more machine-like than his. The calmness and accuracy in it was frightening.

He looked away from the paper and stared at Ji Qingzhou.

Ji Qingzhou was very nervous. There was nothing wrong with her calculation process, but Ye Duanhong’s attitude was suspicious. He was too fierce, and this made her scared of him.
