CH 26.2

5-6 minutes 21.01.2022

When will she get used to this silence?

Maybe she couldn’t adjust to this not until she left this place.

“Thank you so much.”

She thanked him for breaking the discomfort she felt, but that didn’t diminish her sincerity.

She knew he was nice to her because of the love potion, nothing else, but thanks to him, she could get along with the people in Rubella Castle.

“Isn’t it too early to say goodbye when you weren’t done creating the antidote yet?” Archduke Kyar said with narrowed eyes.

Wincing, Isabella scratched her cheek awkwardly and said.

“I’ll do my best until the end.”

“Alright.”

And that was the end of their awkward conversation.

She was fortunate that the meal was over, so Isabella focused on the remaining food without caring.

Maybe, it was better than Duke Kyar hadn’t mentioned anything about kissing yesterday.

As she thought, it was an impulsive yet meaningless kiss that she had found it hard to forget.

It was a mere product of a false desire that started with an accidental hug.

Isabella knew that this was all because of the love potion, so she decided to let the event slide.

She didn’t want to think about it anymore so that it wouldn’t evoke any feelings from her.

**

“I think you have stomach issues.”

The doctor carefully spoke to Duke Kyar after the medical examination,

Well, it would be strange if he didn’t get sick after what happened last night.

He couldn’t sleep a wink.

Every time he closed his eyes, Isabella’s lips touching his always came to mind.

When that happened, he couldn’t close his eyes comfortably.

Duke Kyar shook his head.

After the medical examination, the lawmaker carefully spoke to Archduke Kyard. It may be weirder not to get sick.

After the kiss last evening, he couldn’t sleep a wink all night.

He even took a bath in cold water and ran around the large gymnasium until he got tired. But she couldn’t sleep in the end.

He pretended to be calm while having breakfast with Isabella, but, to be honest, he couldn’t even tell what he ate.

As soon as he put it in his mouth, he quickly chewed the food and swallowed it down.

“I feel sick. My stomach was stuffed, and my head ached like it was going to break. What should I do?”

Frown lines marred Duke Kyar’s forehead, and the doctor asked cautiously, “Do you want some medicine?”

Duke Kyar shook his head.

“I’m sick and tired of medicine.”

He drank a strange potion that Isabella made and became weird.

Archduke Kyar pretended to be calm, but he had thought of keeping Isabella from going anywhere a dozen times a day.

He didn’t want to let her go and keep her next to him, instead.

Only then could he breathe and live.

Will this terrible feeling disappear if he drinks the antidote?

Honestly, he was scared that it wouldn’t, and she would continue to dominate his daily life.

Now, Archduke Kyar had justified all of his crazy emotions by making the love potion as an excuse.

If he couldn’t use this particular excuse anymore, he wouldn’t be able to control his feelings.

“It’s going to be alright, Your Highness. You already told me that your stomach hurts. I think you will get better after a little rest.  If you can, refrain from leaving  the castle.”

“I see.”

After checking if Duke Kyar’s five senses were working, the doctor quietly went out of the bedroom.

Standing next to Duke Kyar, Marc watched the entire situation and said. “Are you sure you’re alright?”

“It’s alright. How long do you think it’ll take to get the herbs I asked for?”

“Oh, I don’t think it’ll take too long. Fortunately, it is the kind of herb that can be obtained in the Kingdom of Tars. It isn’t far from here. I told him to get it as soon as possible.”

“You don’t have to.” Archduke Kyar said with a heavy sigh as he raised his hand and swept his dark hair to the side. “No, you did a good job. Tell him to get it as soon as possible.”

Archduke Kyar hated how his mind could be so fickle that he couldn’t even grasp it.

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“You are not allowed to go out as well. I want to rest alone.

“Are you sure you don’t mind if I don’t go out?” Marc’s eyes narrowed at him with concern.

“You won’t die from indigestion. There is  no need to worry.”

“Yes, Your Highness. I’ll get going now.  Please rest well.”

He massaged his fingertips on his throbbing temples the instant Marc left Duke Kyar alone.

He didn’t think that he could get rid of his headache quickly.

The headaches that haunted him were persistent.

It was similar to Isabella’s, who can become conscious even though she didn’t want to.

Now, he became more similar to  Isabella, conscious even if he didn’t want to be conscious as his headache persistently bothered him.

Knock.

Knock.

He heard the sound of knocking on his door, and he looked at it in annoyance.

Duke Kyar saw Isabella carefully opening the door.

“I heard your stomach was upset.”

It was so strange how he liked seeing her face at this moment, even when he was sick.

He was crazy.
