Chapter 281: Won

The campsite was filled up with moans and cries as the sodden earth became oily with blood.

Men were blubbering and choking. Swords and spears were clinking and clashing under the bright sky.

The ground was lubricated with guts, and a nauseating waft arose from it.

The sky was still bright as the morning sun shone from the east, but the current campsite looked gloomy as a deadly battlefield.

Poppy-red blood drizzled from the soldiers' wounds.

The enemy men were thrusting and slashing their weapons against the elite soldiers' shields.

Arrows were zipping and hissing through the air.

Some of Baron's men were sobbing and sniveling with fear.

Swords were ringing against each other.

Meanwhile, the Shadow Killer Class Mystics went berserk and attacked everyone ruthlessly!

It was utter chaos!

The septic smell of death hung over the battlefield.

It was a battle of head-clasping horror. The acrid taste of blood rose in the soldiers' mouths.

The battle continued as more and more soldiers died in the hands of the berserk enemy Mystics.

Still, some brave ones from Baron Colton's side stood firm and battled the enemy to death.

Meanwhile, Baron and other Rank-3 Mystics continued to battle against the Rank-3 enemy Mystics and killed them one by one.

By the time they killed the final Rank-3 Mystic, it was already around 9.A.M!

But Baron's losses were too huge.

Not only he lost more than half of his soldiers, but he also lost his right hand!

Among the six Rank-3 Mystics, two of them died under enemies' hands, and the remaining four were seriously injured.

Severe exhaustion appeared on Baron's face as he plunged the bloodied broadsword onto the ground and panted heavily.

He then took out a silver ring, activated it, and then muttered with a smile.

"We won, Jessie."

Meanwhile, the other Barons, Viscounts, Counts, and Marquises marched to different Divine Order organization hideouts and initiated the attacks.

Similar battles occurred in different parts of the kingdom at the same time.

Painful cries and moans resounded on those battlefields.

Countless spells, strange skills, and weapons clashed against each other and killed the Mystics one by one.

Some died honorably by getting stabbed in the chest, while a few unfortunate souls were killed while sleeping.

Death tolls rose at a drastic rate as the battle continued.

Headless corpses, injured men, splattered blood, red-painted weapons, nasty urine smells, and decapitated heads were the only things that appeared on those battlefields.

Some Nobles used ambush tactics like Baron Colton, while others used frontal attacks, but they did their job perfectly and completely caught the enemy off-guard.

In the end, all those nobles managed to kill most of the Divine Order members and won the battle!

But there were some unfortunate nobles among the group, though.

A few low-level nobles with lesser soldiers didn't manage to win and even lost their lives in the battle.

Out of 16,000 plus Mystics, only 7,600 managed to survive.

But what surprised Jessie was that not a single Rank-4 Mystic appeared on any of those battlefields and lessened her job to a considerable level.

In truth, she had indeed prepared for any unexpected situations and told her Teacher to assist her.

Thankfully, nothing serious happened.

She finally breathed out a sigh of relief, took a unique golden ring, and activated it.

A few seconds later, an illusionary figure of a white-haired old man appeared in front of her eyes.

"Not even a single Rank-4 Mystic showed up, Teacher. Still, the Nobles lost too many of their elite soldiers." Jessie said in a grim tone.

"Hmm? None showed up? Did they escape?" Charles furrowed his brows and soon shook his head.

"It's actually a good thing. Tell the Nobles to clean up the battlefield after some rest and return to their territory. Meanwhile, you should invite the Churches' representatives and tell them that we had already wiped out the Divine Order organization from the Iron Kingdom."

"What about the successor mission, Teacher? I heard from Bishop Myles that the Churches' representatives received oracles from their Gods." Jessie said with a frown.

"Is this related to the successor mission? There are more than six months there for the successor mission to end, right?" Charles also got confused as he heard her words.

"I'm suspecting that those Churches' representatives are up to something, Teacher. Maybe Vance Boneflare completed the successor mission?" Jessie asked with a puzzled look.

In truth, she felt that possibility was very high.

At that moment, a thoughtful look appeared on Charles's illusionary face.

He then raised his hand, rubbed his chin, and spoke.

"Nope. But my grandson might have completed the mission."

"C-Completed?" Jessie's eyes widened.

"Then, does that mean Rhea won?" She asked in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Charles shook his head and spoke in a solemn tone.

"We have to submit the proof. It's the three culprits' heads. But I suspect my grandson won't appear here anytime soon. If the Churches' representatives come here to ask about the successor mission, tell them that you don't know."

Upon hearing his words, Jessie nodded her head in understanding and then asked.

"What about you, Teacher? What if they ask me about you?"

"Tell them that I'm not here. For the next three months, I won't be meeting any of you guys." Charles said in a firm tone.

Then, he suddenly thought of something and asked.

"Did you get a few drops of 'her' blood?"

Jessie turned her face serious and responded with a nod.

"Yes, Teacher. I extracted a few drops of blood when she was asleep. I will come to the underground basement hall later and give the blood vial to you."

"Good. I'll contact you if I need any more help."

Saying so, Charles cut off the connection from the other side.

Meanwhile, Jessie stayed in her room for the next few hours, contacted the nobles constantly, and told them to return to their territories.

She also told them to conduct funeral ceremonies for all the fallen soldiers and even asked them to compensate their families.

After that, she went downstairs, summoned the Churches' representatives, and announced their achievement.

Like Charles had expected, the Churches' representatives asked questions about Charles, Oswald, and their whereabouts and even ordered her to contact them quickly.

Unfortunately, Jessie didn't even put their orders in her mind and told them to return to their churches.

Meanwhile, the news about the Nobles' battle against some unknown criminal organization named Divine Order spread like wildfire.

The death of 8,000 Mystics in a single battle shook the whole kingdom!

To the commoners of Iron Kingdom, the Mystics were powerful Noble beings and could do extraordinary things.

Even a single Mystic's death would cause a great commotion in local towns and villages.

The death of 8,000 ruler caste members caused great commotion everywhere!

They also linked the criminal organization with the previous kidnapping and killing incidents.

Although commoners weren't aware of any criminal organization, they had indeed felt something was wrong with frequent kidnappings and killings.

Some people mourned, while the other commoners celebrated the Mystics' deaths.

During this time, Nobles and Mages were also deeply startled by this incident and sent scouts to all areas.

After some investigation, they soon realized that the nobles actually raided the Divine Orders organization's hideouts and crushed them!

When things were about to calm down, the Churches suddenly announced to everyone that Rhea's faction members had already eliminated the threat that looms over the kingdom!

But what made everyone caught off guard was that the Churches' representatives even stated that their Gods also sent oracles to them and selected Rhea as the next monarch of Iron Kingdom!
