Chapter 386: Urgency

Upon hearing Jessie's urgent tone, Titus nodded his head subconsciously, parked the carriage under a tree shadow, and explained everything in detail.

Meanwhile, Daisy walked out of the carriage and looked for any suspicious movements in the surrounding areas. Currently, they were in an open space and could easily find out if some suspicious persons appeared in the surroundings.

She patiently checked each side and soon breathed out a sigh of relief.

But she knew that they might also be searching for them!

Just as that thought crossed her head, she saw a group of three cavalrymen moving in their direction from the faraway woods!

Not only that, but she also saw a shadowy figure flying above them using a magic spell!

Mage!

"We got company!" She said in a grim tone and took out a crimson staff from her space ring.

Meanwhile, Jessie also got anxious and said in a panicking tone.

"Don't worry, Titus! I'm on my way to see Miss Edith. Please hold on for 15 minutes."

Panting and wind rippling noise echoed as she said those words.

Meanwhile, Titus also looked at the group of cavalier men and the mage and soon frowned.

Then, he took out a pupil-less eyeball from his space ring and activated it. A second later, hundreds of shadow eyes came out of the pupil-less eye and spread in all directions.

Two years ago, his Teacher upgraded some of his old artifacts and returned them as his trump cards.

This Pupil-less Eye was one of them! He also had Ember Pistol, two Rare Daggers, and one Rank-4 Spell Scroll!

Within seconds, he observed all the surrounding areas and saw more than 20 people with different attires were walking in their direction.

'No good! It's Tyler and his lackeys!' His expression turned serious.

"Sister, they are after Daisy. It's Tyler." He paused for a moment, turned his gaze towards Daisy, and spoke in a solemn tone.

"Dear, use your fly spell and go back to the city. I'll hold them off."

"What are you saying? I'm not going anywhere without you." Daisy firmly shook her head and even took out some artifacts from her space ring.

On the other hand, Titus sighed heavily and spoke.

"They are after you, my dear. If you got caught, your brother wouldn't hesitate to kill you. But I have a better chance to survive. Even if he captures me, he would never dare to kill me." He paused for a moment and then added.

"Moreover, there is a young life hiding in your womb. You can't die here."

"Young life? Daisy is pregnant?!" A sharp voice echoed from his communication ring.

Jessie was both surprised and angry at the sneaky couple. She also understood why they had been urging everyone about their marriage and sighed heavily.

After some thought, Jessie also agreed with her little brother's decision and spoke.

"Daisy, listen to what he says. Don't worry about Titus's safety. He is strong and could survive for more than 15 minutes on his own."

On the other hand, Daisy's expression went pale.

She opened her mouth and was about to retort but soon stopped. Then, she leaped onto Titus's shoulder and hugged him tightly.

"Please don't be late!" She cried.

Meanwhile, Titus patted her head, turned her gaze towards the incoming cavalrymen, and spoke while taking a scroll from his space ring.

"Fly in the western direction for two minutes, make a turn, and then use the invisible spell scroll. After that, don't stop anywhere and fly towards the south. We don't have much time." Saying so, he took off the bowler hat and tossed it into the carriage. Then, he took out two daggers from his space ring, placed them in his waist, and muttered.

"Shadow Stealth!"

A second later, his figure turned black and soon blended with the nearby tree's shadow.

Meanwhile, Daisy wiped her tears, cast [Crimson Fire] spell on herself, and flapped it forcefully.

The next instant, she shot towards the sky and flew in the western direction.

At that moment, the three cavalrymen also noticed this and got panicked.

"Oh no! Our target is escaping!" A silver-armored knight said in an anxious tone. He then looked up at the sky, started at the bat-winged human in his blue robe, and requested.

"Lord Kingston! Please go ahead and stop her from escaping. We'll inform our lord and then take care of the Ancient Mage's disciple."

Meanwhile, the mage named Kingston looked at them coldly, flapped his bat wings, and nodded.

A moment later, he shot forward, flew past the trees and shrubs, and almost reached the area where the carriage was.

But just as he flew past the four-wheeled carriage, a strange metal clicking sound echoed in his ears.

A second later, an ear-piercing bang followed!

Before he could understand, a crimson bullet came from below, directly entered his nape, tore through his head, and soon appeared on the forehead.

A bloody hole appeared on the human mage's head!

Scarlet blood, along with brain matters, splattered in all directions!

Meanwhile, his lifeless body crashed onto the nearby tree trunk and soon fell with a loud thud.

On the other hand, Titus retracted the Ember Pistol from his hand and trembled uncontrollably.

"I-I killed a human!" His eyes widened in disbelief.

In truth, he aimed at the mage's shoulder but ended up accurately killing him!

'But how did that happen?'

His whole body started to shake due to anxiety, fear, and guilt. Due to this, his body also came out of the shadows and revealed his location to the cavalrymen.

"He is over there! Capture him!" All those three cavalrymen woke up from the shock and sped towards him!

Titus, too, noticed them moving in his direction but couldn't move! He felt that his whole body was stuck on to the ground like some glue!

He gashed his teeth and cursed.

"Damn it! I can't die here!" He hurriedly stored the Ember Pistol back into the space ring and moved his trembling hand towards his face.

He then slapped his cheek and then shook his head to cast away the guilt and fear.

'Pathetic!' He continued to curse at himself for being a weak-willed kid and unsheathed his daggers.

At that moment, those three cavalrymen also arrived near him and were just a few meters away from where he was standing.

'Is that all, Titus? Didn't I teach you more about the assassination and the art of killing?' A familiar old man's voice echoed in Titus's head, causing his eyes to widen!

"T-Teacher?" Surprise flashed on his face.

'Don't get too excited. I'm nothing more than a mere will. You can just consider me as your Teacher's memory fragment. Now, blend yourself with the darkness and get away from here. I have got a way to get yourself out of this situation.' Charles's Will said inside his mind.

Yes, when Charles met the Holem's Crown a few months ago, he gave four Will-infused memory fragments and told him to place them in their Inner Worlds secretly.

He knew that the Destiny Goddess had some plan for his disciples. So, he also prepared earlier. But whether his disciples managed to break their shackles or not, it was all up to them!

Meanwhile, Titus nodded his head and regained his senses. Then, he once again blended with the darkness and leaped towards the nearby tree. He continued to move under the tree shadows and soon disappeared from the cavalry men's eyes.

Upon seeing this, one of the silver-armored knights took out a communication ring and reported their current situation to their boss.

A few seconds later, a cold voice came from the other side.

"I'll send five Rank-3 [Rogue] class mystics over there. You guys keep chasing after that kid. Meanwhile, I'll go and kill that pest once and for all. Not only did she walk out of our Elliott family, but she also got the noble title and even obtained equal status as me! This is unforgivable."

"We'll chase after him, My Lord." The silver-armored knight nodded his head, whipped the horse, and moved towards the direction where Titus disappeared into.

In the meantime, Titus continued to run and soon entered the nearby woods. He then found a suitable place to hid and asked in his mind.

'Is there a way to get out of this situation, Teacher?' His hands and legs continued to tremble as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.

'Yes. But before that, I will show you something.' As Charles's Will spoke, he separated some of his memories and released them in Titus's Inner World.
