Chapter 72

“Someone is coming.”

At that one word from Oliver, Murphy instinctively noticed that something was wrong and sent a hand signal to the surrounding subordinates.

Thanks to many of them being veteran soldiers, they moved in harmony with one light hand gesture and spread the warning signal around them as if they had been trained in advance.

“Red light! Red light! Everyone get back to your positions!”

The sound of guns being loaded, along with the sounds of running could be heard everywhere.

Murphy also took off his jacket and took a knife and pistol in his arms, despite him being the boss.

It was a relatively simple armament, but considering his physical abilities, it was sufficient.

As a reinforced human he had the physical ability that was many times higher than ordinary people, but he never let that go to his head. It was as if he knew that there were so many people way stronger than him in this world.

“Who is coming? Mr. Warlock.”

“Wait.”

Oliver said while focusing his attention on one eye.

He checked the minions which were placed a few hundred meters away, around the warehouse one by one. After checking every single one, he finally caught on to something. He synced his sight to the minion that sent the signal and constantly checked everything around the minion.

It was late at night, and there weren’t as many people as they were during the daytime, but there were still workers, vagrants, and beggars sleeping in the corner of the factory.

“No, it’s not one of them… Um!”

Oliver saw something. Someone was moving quickly and coming towards this way through the building around the warehouse.

Surprisingly, there was only one person, and he was radiating powerful magical energy, something similar to lightning from his entire body.

Oliver had seen that kind of magic before. It was similar to the Lightning Wizard who attacked him in Wineham. The person who was rushing towards the factory right now was very much similar to the lightning wizard.

And the strangest thing was, there was no tension or fear radiating from the person even though he was about to fight the gangsters. Rather, he was rejoicing it, like a child on a picnic.

Underneath the joyful emotion was endless confidence that was hard to describe. He possessed an abnormal degree of confidence

“There is only one intruder. It’s a wizard.”

“A wizard?!”

Murphy asked with a puzzled expression. It was true that there was a threat from the wizards, but he never thought they would make a bold move of attacking the factory.

“Why? Is he here to rescue Herbert? Or did he come just to blow up this place?”

“No, I don’t think so.”

“What?”

“I’m not sure, but looking at the amount of magical power, I don’t think he came to blow up this large warehouse. It’s kind of hard for that person to destroy this warehouse, I think I can do something about it while using defensive spells. Don’t worry too much, I’ve placed some test tubes around this place.”

Looking at the gaze of Murphy filled with surprise Oliver asked.

“…? Did I make any mistake?”

“Oh, no… So what should we do now?”

“I don’t know. This is my second time fighting a wizard… huh?”

Oliver suddenly stopped speaking. It was because the number of emotions around the wizard suddenly increased. He was sure that there was only one wizard who strode through the building, but when that wizard took out some magical device and operated it, the magical energy suddenly surged in the air, and 3 more wizards appeared out of nowhere.

“The number of wizards has increased. Now there are three more people.”

“What?!”

“He activated some kind of magic tool, and two people appeared suddenly. Do you know what that was?”

“Spatial magic…? They must be belonging to the Spatial magic school. Fu*k! Why are they here…?”

“Um…”

“Why, what…?”

Murphy asked urgently, but Oliver couldn’t answer.

It was because the situation seemed urgent because one of the wizards suddenly spread the magic power around the warehouse like a strand.

It didn’t do any direct damage, but the minute the strand disappeared by colliding with buildings and obstacles, the information about everything and everyone inside the building went to the wizard.

It was quite a surprising magic to Oliver. He had always thought that the wizard’s power was mainly their huge firepower, but now they used their magic in a way he never expected. However, his admiration didn’t last long.

As soon as the wizards figured out the geography and number of people in the warehouse, one wizard started condensing his magic into one hand.

The amount of magic he condensed was not a large amount, but it was quite dangerous. Oliver had seen this type of magic before.

“Magic Missile”

“The attack is coming.”

“Everyone! take cover! The enemy is attacking!”

Murphy shouted as loud as he could, even though everything that was happening didn’t make any sense to him. 

When Oliver saw the condensed magic he thought it was some kind of bomb.

It was not at a level that was intended to break a wall.

‘Are they really thinking about blowing this whole place?’

As Oliver was thinking, a change occurred in the magical power used by the wizard.

For Oliver, who did not receive any professional training, it was a bit difficult to express it, but if he had to put it in words, it was like a huge lump of magic power that was divided into dozens.

The magic missile turned into a thicker bullet when the wizard used more magic.

It was similar to Oliver’s [Targeting], which targets the location where magic darts could be fired, except that, unlike Oliver, who directly targets people, the wizard targeted the coordinates of the person’s location.

Oliver wondered if there was any need for that.

“…wouldn’t that be inefficient?”

“What? What are you saying, Mr. Warlock? You should also hide somewhere…”

Before Murphy’s word could end, the wizard fired the magic missiles from the building hundreds of meters away.

The Black Shield did not break, but the attack was quite more powerful than Oliver expected.

Murphy spoke as he looked at the magic missile that was blocked by the Black Shield and exploded in midair.

Oliver didn’t know why, but he seemed to be taken quite a shock for some reason.

“Perhaps?”

“I don’t think we should let our guard down yet. It seems like blocking the magic missile increased the anger of the wizard.”

The wizard whose attack got blocked was angry as the other wizards laughed at him.

Everyone seemed to be not in a rush, and Oliver wondered what they had prepared to be this relaxed.

He wondered whether it was because of the confidence that comes from being a wizard or whether because of the thought that unlike the magic power generated from one’s body, the amount of black magic is limited.

Oliver still had a considerable amount of emotions left, but it was obvious that he would lose at this rate. He had to counterattack as soon as possible. But the question is how to do it.

The angry wizard regained his composure and started firing numerous magic missiles again.

Unlike before, the firepower was greatly reduced, and it was not targeted, but the number of magic missiles was much higher, and Oliver once again defended the warehouse by deploying a black shield as before.

He couldn’t block them all because he couldn’t predict the path of the attack, but so far he hasn’t had any problems in blocking the attacks on the warehouse.

A sound different from that of the magic missile was heard.

An unknown object entered the warehouse using the gap between the pouring magic missiles.

It looked like an arrow, finished with copper on the outside, and embedded with blue magic stone in the middle.

Before Oliver could clear his curiosity, the magic stone lit up and spewed out powerful magic.

The output was quite high, and along with it, a small crack appeared in the air, through which someone appeared.

It was one of the wizards who was at the top of the building earlier.

He came over here in an instant through the unidentified object.

A huge explosion occurred around him with a loud sound. Explosions of pure magical power engulfed the place.

The speed of activation and the power of magic was so fast that the workers around Murphy flew away without being able to respond.

“Where’s the Warlock?! I heard you brought a pretty funny guy…! He really was pretty fu*king funny! Let me see his face-!!”

His behavior was as relaxed as his emotions.

He blasted his massive magical power without resting, destroying the guards and even the walls of boxes. Thanks to that, the warehouse became a mess as if it had been bombed, and a magic missile flew through the wall throwing the troops into a panic.

Facing the wave of offensive firepower and the vast magical power, everyone felt fear.

Finally, Murphy, who couldn’t see this anymore, spoke.

“Mr. Warlock, spread your shield and keep defending the warehouse. I’ll catch the bombing maniac somehow.”

Oliver stopped Murphy as he was about to move.

“Mr. Warlock?”

“I’m in charge here. Mr. Murphy, please take the others out of my way.”

“What?”

Oliver didn’t answer Murphy’s question, instead used black magic.

Then, from afar, the sound of an explosion rang out with a scream.

Kyayyayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayyayayayyayayayayayayayyayayayayayay.

BOOM!

The test tube planted near the wizard who had been attacking from a distance with a magic missile was triggered, and the wizards were struck and staggered as they were attacked by the explosion of anger and the laughter that shook their brains while breaking their will.

The magic missile which kept coming from far away stopped.

In the meantime, Oliver decided to take care of the wizard who was making a fuss inside the warehouse.

“Now that you have time, Mr. Murphy, please take the staff to the wizard’s workshop. I’ll deal with the wizard. It would be comfortable for me this way.”

Murphy looked startled, but immediately came back to his senses and obeyed Oliver’s words. He instinctively knew what to choose.

“Plan B! Everyone! go to the designated place!”

As soon as the order was given, the workers started to run away in unison.

The wizard, who caused a disturbance inside the warehouse, shouted in confusion.

“Where are you all going? You have to play with me!”

Oliver used black magic again.

The test tube planted near the place where the violent wizard went on a rampage released emotions, and the mud-like emotions covered the violent wizard and bound him from moving.

It was a black magic that Oliver used only once when he was fighting the paladins in the past, but contrary to what he thought, it was quite disappointing.

Oliver was barely able to use this magic at that time, but still, he was confident that he could restrain anything, however, this one was so poorly performed that it was garbage compared to that.

‘Is it because it’s not my emotions?’

In fact, as if to prove this, the violent wizard tried to escape from the sphere with just the amount of magic power around him without using any spell.

It seemed that the restraints would be broken at any time, but Oliver had no intention of waiting, so he quickly used black magic.

Oliver wore the armor made by combining Life-force and emotions and indirectly improved his overall physical abilities by burning the Life-force.

Oliver narrowed the distance with the wizard with a tremendous speed as if he had changed into a different person.

The violent wizard caused a huge explosion and eventually got released from the restraints.

Although he himself had suffered some damage, he did not mind, and he only had animosity towards Oliver.

At the spell cast by the violent wizard, a chain of explosions occurred, and the scale was so great that it engulfed not only the section where Oliver was running but also the surrounding area. There was no place to escape.

Oliver recalled Knuckle Joe and concentrated the energy of the black suit on his legs.

And then he jumped as hard as he could.

Oliver escaped into the air without getting caught in the explosion, and at that moment, his eyes met with the eyes of the smiling violent wizard.

“DIE You bastard!”

As if he was aiming for this in the first place, the wizard once again used explosion magic on Oliver, who floated defenselessly in the air.

Oliver, who was floating in the air, targeted the wall of the building and himself, and then increased the output.

Thanks to this, he was able to avoid the attack by moving toward the wall. 

The wizard who kept attacking didn’t expect this kind of move from Oliver and was bewildered.

The wizard stopped attacking.

Oliver didn’t miss that opportunity.

He immediately concentrated his energy on his legs again and rushed from the wall towards the wizard with all his might.

“Huh……!”

The Explosion Wizard tried to counterattack with a belated spell, but Oliver was faster this time.

Before he could cast the spell, Oliver’s quarterstaff slapped his face.

With a creek sound, the wizard’s neck turned to one side.

Just as Oliver was about to finish the Explosion wizard with certainty, an attack came from afar.

The attack was blocked.

Oliver looked at the wizards on the building, who came to their senses. He didn’t know why, but they seemed very angry.

“Um…That’s troublesome.” 

Oliver shouted loudly.

“Mr. Murphy……can you help me for a moment?”
