Ruan An’An held down her laughter and thought carefully, “I like running. Long or short distance doesn’t matter.”

“Then let’s go for tracks,” Gu Jue decided, then repeating after her like a recorder, “Long or short distance doesn’t matter.”

The Sports Committee member happily checked a mark in the book, “OK! I’ll sign you up for one hundred, two hundred, and eight hundred!”

Ruan An’an gaped. “…”

Are you ordering food???

She interrupted, “Wait, Sports Committee, three events are too many… It will be too tiring.”

The two looked at her together.

Ruan An’an really felt that it was too taxing to run for so many events, but she was too shy to admit that she was feeling heartache for Perky Butt.

She braced herself to clarify. “I just mean to sign up for one, long or short distance doesn’t matter…”

“It’s okay, just sign up for all of them.” Gu Jue confirmed.

While the Sports Committee member was happily confirming his “orders”, Gu Jue turned back to look at her again.

He did not look as tired as he was earlier. A smile touched his lips, and he lowered his voice so that the Sports Committee member could not hear. “Don’t worry. I have incredible stamina.”

Another short line that bore a great significance.

“…”

He’s doing it, he’s doing it, he’s doing it again!

Just say you’re good at running, why do you have to mention your stamina?!

The Sports Committee was busy with Gu Jue’s sign up, and did not notice what happened between the two. Ruan An’an widened her eyes, and replied without any scruple, “I wasn’t worried.”

After a pause, she reprimanded him timidly, “You… Don’t be such a narcissist.”

Gu Jue ignored it, and did not speak again.

The two people kept a comfortable distance. The delicious strawberry flavoured scent of Gu Jue’s pink lollipop heavily coated the air surrounding them. She suddenly had an urge to yank the candy out of his mouth and put it in her own mouth.

However, just as the bold idea flashed across her mind, she heard a familiar greeting.

“Good morning, the two gods –“

Like thunder resounding through her eardrum, Ruan An’an jumped in surprise as if she was caught committing a crime. She turned her head fiercely toward the source, and realized it was Chen Song.

As usual, he was never sensitive to his surroundings, nor could he read the atmosphere, completely unaware that he was disrupting the fantasy Ruan An’an was indulging in. His face filled with curiosity, “Yo, the Sports Committee is also here, what’s going on?”

“Signing up for the sports meet.”

The Sports Committee member answered casually; he looked up and saw the three jesters, his eyes gleamed immediately, “It’s you three! Hurry up, I am going crazy this morning. I was rejected for all kinds of reasons! Only Gu God was kind enough to help me! This is too hard. You three jesters- ahem, you’re finally here! Come take a look at which event you’re interested in signing up for!”

“…”

It would be accurate to say that the Sports Committee member was just like an illegal tout squatting around in tourist attractions, yelling and persuading everyone that his service was cheaper and better than the regular cabs.

Ruan An’an watched the Sports Committee member and the three jesters bicker and mutter, and soon they were signing up for events, all in all taking less than a minute. Qiu Yan even signed up for two events. The Sports Committee member walked away with a list filled with names, feeling satisfied.

Ruan An’an was curious and could not help but ask, “Do you like sports meets that much? You signed up for so many events. Do you attend every year?”
