CH 5

The bearded man and several soldiers exchanged glances, fear deeply evident in their eyes.

“Go! Run!” the bearded man suddenly snapped out of his daze and, realizing the situation was not in their favor, prepared to slip away with his spear.

The other soldiers followed suit, tiptoeing away, hoping to escape.

Wu Hui immediately took notice of them and, with a sweep of his divine sense, instantly saw through everyone’s strength.

The soldiers were all level zero, and the bearded man and young warrior were only level one, with very weak strength. The only one worth his attention was the young warrior, who had the potential to reach level four at some point in his life.

However, it seemed that the young warrior was with this little girl, and having someone with slightly better potential was a good thing.

He made up his mind and lowered his voice, speaking authoritatively to Catherine, “Only the strong can control fate. Go, Catherine, use your own power to change your fate.”

His voice was “authoritative” and full of enticement, transmitted through divine power into Catherine’s mind, adding a hint of divinity to his words.

Catherine was initially scared, but upon hearing these words, she felt a surge of courage as if she had found support. Her eyes were filled with fanaticism as she stood up slowly, her expression cold as she looked towards the soldiers, exuding the authority of a level 3 expert in her gaze.

For fanatics, divine will is the ultimate purpose of their lives. Anyone who insults or desecrates the gods they believe in fills them with anger and a desire to kill.

“Radiant Code: Healing.”

She held the silver cross in her hands, closed her eyes and concentrated. A pure and vast power of radiance emerged, covering Landon’s previously injured body.

The wounds on Landon’s body healed visibly quickly.

Landon was stunned and quickly reached out to grab the arrow behind his back and pulled it out fiercely.

The blood spurted out, causing him to gasp in pain.

But even if it hurt, he had to pull it out. He had seen high-level healing spells before and knew how magical they were. If he didn’t remove the arrow, the arrowhead and shaft might grow inside his body under the effect of the healing spell.

Sure enough, in just a few breaths, the bleeding from his back and abdomen stopped, and his wounds quickly healed, growing pink, tender flesh.

Divine magic, this is the healing magic of priests or nuns. Legend has it that even people on the brink of death can be saved and healed if a priest or nun of holy order intervenes.

Even Catherine herself did not expect her divine magic to become so powerful. She was stunned for a moment but quickly reacted, raising her hand and casting another spell.

“Radiant Code: Blessing!”

In an instant, a white light fell on Landon.

The bones all over Landon’s body crackled and popped, as if endless power was about to burst out from his muscles, and his dry fighting spirit quickly recovered, causing his energy channels to swell and almost burst.

Landon was overjoyed. The powerful Radiant Blessing had unexpectedly doubled his strength.

Catherine’s azure eyes seemed to overlook the soldiers who were secretly planning to escape, and her voice unknowingly gained some authority: “Landon, why don’t you purify those blasphemous heretics?”

“Yes!”

Landon suddenly shuddered and realized that a few of the bearded soldiers were trying to escape.

He immediately stiffened and shouted in a cold voice, “Trying to run? It’s too late.” As he spoke, he drew his long sword and charged towards the soldiers.

Thanks to the healing power of the Light Healing technique, Landon’s injuries had already healed. Additionally, he had received the Blessing technique, which greatly increased his strength and speed. His combat ability was now almost on par with that of a level 2 warrior.

The strongest of the soldiers, the bearded one, was only at level 1, while the rest were at level 0. They were no match for Landon, who had been blessed by the Light Blessing technique. Within seconds, he had caught up to them. Landon swung his sword, aiming a powerful blow at the bearded soldier.

The soldier heard the wind behind him and quickly dodged to the side, but the sword still pierced through his shoulder armor, leaving a deep wound. The armor was able to withstand most attacks, but Landon’s newfound strength easily pierced through it. The bearded soldier cried out in pain as blood poured from the wound. Landon kicked him in the lower back, sending him flying, and then quickly drew his sword and charged forward once more.

He was filled with hatred towards the bearded soldier, attacking him relentlessly until he was beheaded and blood was splattered all around.

The remaining three soldiers saw how easily the strongest of their group had been killed and realized they had no chance of escaping.!

The soldiers fell to their knees, crying and begging for mercy, no longer daring to resist.

“Catherine?” Landon hesitated to make a decision and turned to look at Catherine. Catherine had gained divine favor and her strength had grown to a level that made him awestruck. Unconsciously, his attitude towards her had changed.

As Catherine, shrouded in holy light, approached the soldiers, her unhurried pace matched by the complex expression in her deep blue eyes. In her hands, she held a silver cross, and she respectfully whispered, “My Lord, these soldiers were deceived and misled. They did not intend to insult you. Now that the main culprit has been punished, may they be given a chance to redeem themselves?” It was at that moment that Wu Hui grasped the true nature of Catherine’s intentions.

These soldiers had witnessed a miracle and were the best candidates for believers. If given a chance, they would be more devout than the average believer. Catherine, now a fanatical believer, had already begun to consider and think for the God of Light, Wu Hui, in every situation.

Wu Hui nodded immediately, “Granted!” The majestic and solemn voice of God echoed in the air. “My Lord is merciful,” Catherine’s eyes lit up and she immediately bowed her head in prayer.

After finishing her prayer, she looked down at the soldiers kneeling at her feet, her face becoming extremely serious. “Our Lord is merciful, sparing your lives. Are you willing to quickly abandon the darkness and swear to serve our Lord , the God of Light, for life?”

“We swear to serve the great Lord of Light for our entire lives, never to betray Him,” the soldiers quickly replied, their hearts trembling with great excitement after witnessing such a miracle and being personally pardoned by the Lord of Light.

As they pledged their faith to the Lord of Light, several channels of faith connected with Wu Hui’s divine essence, and these channels were surprisingly strong, far surpassing that of a superficial believers.

Wu Hui was overjoyed to see that not only did he gain three devout believers, but they were even more valuable than a hundred shallow believers. The power of faith offered by these three devout believers alone was worth several hundred shallow believers.

Wu Hui’s heart was filled with happiness.
