CH 6

Karina here! A girl who became an adventurer in order to become a merchant!

I thought I got tangled up with a lustful drunk, but he was just a friendly senior adventurer!

I got my provisional adventurer identification and even the money to pay for my deferred fee from him tossing me a few coins!

That's everything up till now.

Which is why I was looking at the medium copper coin that Blade-san, a senior adventurer, had tossed me.

It would be enough to buy five loaves of rye bread, each being around 500 yen. You could call it a generous donation.

I had the ability to duplicate this coin as many times as I wanted with the spatial magic [Duplicate].

In other words, I would be rich so long as I had a single coin of currency.

"…"

But like, it wasn't the same as amassing wealth. It was just not the same.

Duplicated money was just counterfeit money. I mean, it would be virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, but it was still counterfeit money…

Money was money. Setting aside the fact that it was just pocket money for a child, I was aiming to be a merchant.

If I were to increase my money supply as a merchant, then inflation might occur and collapse the market.

That could all start with me duplicating a single copper coin.

Once I duplicated a single coin, I would be less resistant to duplicating more coins.

But if I went with duplicating commodities… no, that's not good either.

Even for commodities, what merchants handle are things made or gathered by someone else.

To acquire it as a mechant, there should be some sort of monetary exchange. If I were to skip that and just get the item, it wouldn't be a healthy economic activity.

"… Duplicating money or commodities will be my last resort."

Even if I didn't do that, I could still earn as much as I needed with spatial magic. I'll only use it if I really need to, like restriction play. Yep yep.

Deciding as much, I put the medium copper coin into my storage space.

By the way, according to my thought process, if I were to gather the raw materials myself and make the product myself, then I could duplicate it as well.

As long as it's something I make myself, I can skip the process of making it! Time efficiency is time efficiency!

I got a talent to make learning skills easier thanks to the Goddess, so it would be possible for me to learn production skills like blacksmithing or magic tool production.

And things I used personally rather than something to sell would be fine as well.

For example, if I wanted to make a sword out of some rare metal, it'd be OK to just duplicate the raw materials. Duplicating practice materials would be fine as well. As long as I don't sell them. Personal use is personal use.

"Well, putting on too many restrictions wouldn't be much fun either… huh?"

I suddenly felt the urge to pee. It'd be my first time peeing in this world.

Luckily, this was the Adventurer's Guild. I'm glad I didn't have to pee in the wild.

"Excuse me, may I use the restroom?"

"Oh, yes. It's that way."

"Thanks."

Aaah, I gotta pee so bad… wait, hold up, oh crap, thinking about it makes it worse!

Wait, how do you hold it in if you don't have a stick?

… I'm really about to pee myself.

Uoooh, toilet!! Hurry!!

There were several men using the urinals when I opened the door with a bang. Ugh, their pee smelled so bad. It was worse than the ammonia smell in the toilets at Shinjuku Station. The development of water-flushing toilets is an urgent matter.

"Woah!? Hey, Jou-chan, this is the men's restroom!"

"Whoops! Sorry, I made a mistake!"

Whoops, I'm a girl now. Stop being so thoughtless, Karina-chan!

"I can't hold it in anymore! Gotta pee! I'm gonna use the stall!"

"Hold up—well it's better than pissing yourself… be careful of the slimes!"

Storming into one of the stalls, I used my first toilet in this world.

Phew… wait, there's no toiler paper here?

I felt so refreshed.

I also took the opportunity to do number two.

According to Basic Knowledge-san, this world's restrooms didn't use toilet paper.

People supposedly manage with the everyday magic [Cleanse]. It's nice that you don't have to worry about running out of toilet paper as long as you have magic power.

Also, there really were slimes squirming around at the bottom!

They really didn't like me using the toilet.

They were a species called Scavenger Slimes and, apparently, toilet slimes were trained separately for male and female use.

Basic Knowledge-san didn't know the reason behind it… maybe it was a difference in taste? Hmm, it's a mystery.
